Stayed at the Riviera 3 times it is one of the older hotels on the strip but dont be put off by that. It is a very friendly hotel the rooms are adequate we were at our timeshare (grandview) but we went to the riviera a few times during our stay. We were there last year for 3 weeks when we arrived at the valet parking the valet smiled and said hello nice to see you again. When you think how many people they see every day and he remembered us from 12 months ago, it didnt stop there one of the cocktail waitresses also remembered us and made a point of coming over to say hello. We have booked to stay there again next year for 4 weeks. The other hotels in vegas you're just a room number, in the riviera you are part of the family. more

i cant believe some of these bad reviews, the riviera is beautiful, clean and great service. does have old time charm. walking thru the halls is great, the history is unbeatable. the ambiance is hard to beat. the pool is perfect. sure, it does nt have a water show or volcano, but what it does have is real Las Vegas feel. trust me and treat yourself with a stay here. more

We stayed at the Riveria Hotel for 3 days in October, 2010 in the Monaco Tower. We were very pleased with our room, as it was clean, quiet and modern with a nice flat screen tv. As we were on the 22 floor we had a good view of the strip. The elevators worked well and never had to wait for one which was great. We really enjoyed our stay at the Riveria. more

we have been to Vegas many times ,in fact we go over at least 3times a year ,we have stayed at the big hotels and they were ok but i really enjoyed our stay at the riviera ,the staff were great especially edd at the bar ,the room was great clean and modern with flat screen tv,casino not as big as some of the strip hotels ,but just as good we don't normally stay in the same hotel twice but i would definitely go back to the riviera great value for money. more

The room was so filthy that I wanted to burn my luggage when we got home. Furthermore, I requested the front desk staff assistance in documenting a racial discrimination incident that could have easily lead to hate crime at a 711 location next to the hotel. The man I spoke with at the desk was not willing to assist me even though I was just asking for the store information and maybe a phone call to get the 711 employee name that verbally abused us. The Riviera staff claimed that he could not do anything about it, not even a phone call on my behalf. When a second incident again racially motivated took place, this time within the hotel food court, they asked me to fill a comment form. This being the best they could do after I was required to make a scene in front of other hotel guests. Absolutely ridiculous the way they treat their guests. They made me feel like I was an inconvenience to them. I would never go back to Vegas. If I have to, I Will pay more money to stay at a better hotel where I feel that the staff make an effort to make me feel safe. more

We had a wonderful stay. From the moment we went to the check in desk, where we were greeted by a very pleasant young woman, until we checked out , we were very pleasantly surprised with our Riviera experience. Now, to be fair, if you go with expectations of grandeur or glitz, you will be sorely disappointed. But, if you go wanting a nice clean room, friendly service and a staff who have a sense of humor, you will be very happy at the Riviera. We were offered a room in the Monaco Tower, which has all been renovated recently and we thought the room was exceptionally nice. Not sure about the more ""classic"" rooms. We got the Monaco tower for no additional charge and didn't even have to ask for an upgrade. The young woman at check in offered it to us. The pit bosses, cocktail waitresses and dealers that we dealt with in the casino were veterans (OK, OK, I mean older folks), but this added to the ambiance of the casino experience. All were very friendly, funny and they had great stories to share about their long Vegas experiences. We loved this part of playing there. Also had a great, inexpensive meal in the coffee shop. It is a bit sad to see the shape of the surrounding area outside the Riviera, but we managed to have a great time playing and staying there. Also played at the Sahara a bit. It was an easy walk and also had a good old historical Vegas vibe. Speaking of historical vibes, right next door to the Riviera is the Peppermill, a great place for cool drinks and good food in a retro setting. In summary, I would not hesitate to recommend the Riviera to folks, so long as they know that part of the strip and they aren't expecting high end. more

We went to Vegas for a week and stayed at the Rivera. It is an older hotel but the location on the strip was ideal. Other hotels and attractions were within walking distance and the rooms were incredibly comfortable. I usually don't sleep well in hotels but the beds and linens were very nice I drifted off to sleep each night without any problem. more

My friend and I went to kinda get away, relax, shop, and enjoy the nightlife out there. We had a BLAST! Check-in was a breeze, we stayed at the monaco tower which is where the upgraded rooms are. The room itself was beautiful. furniture was nice and modern, the bed was sooooo comfortable, the bathroom was big enough for my friend and i to both get ready at the same time... i would have to say the ONLY thing that was kinda old in the room was the bathroom door but it wasn't that bad. The Fashion Show mall, encore, circus circus, and plenty of restaurants are all at walking distance. I love it! more
