Very Good Service 5/22/2012

Our only 3 year old television went out and intially we just wanted to buy a new television, since calling the manufacturer was far from helpful. But after doing a search online for television repair, we decided to bring it in to Dean TV. They diagnosed it and said it needed a replacement motherboard. It took a week for the part and repair, and they tested it in the store before I left. The price was reasonable and they also applied the diagnosis fee towards the repair cost. Lo and behold a few months later, we received a notice from the manufacturer involving a class action suit in which they would cover the cost of repairs for faulty sets. We had long discarded the invoice and receipt from Dean TV, but they were great and helped us get a copy from their records so we could apply for our credit from the manufacturer. If you're looking for a straighforward television repair for a decent price, I would highly recommend Dean TV. more

Great Service 2/6/2012

Drove all the way from Bastrop because the local TV repair service which is just a few miles from home wanted a hefty price just to diagnose my problem. Dean TV said they would call me that same day to let me know what was wrong and and the cost of repair. I stayed in Austin less than an hour when I got their call, not only saying how much it cost but that I could pick it up if I am still in Austin within another hour, Very fair cost and my HDTV works better than ever. Excellent service glad I found them. more

Dean is CON ARTIST 9/24/2011

If I could give less stars I would. I brought a semi busted (white dots on screen, still fully functioning) 65"" TV to Dean, who charged me $29 for his tech to take the back off. They told me what it would cost something like $600+, I stopped listening after he started rattling off tech fee's. Retrieved the TV from Dean and now the thing is 100% busted, it will not turn on. Dean is not giving me my money back. Since I know little about TV's, I would assume Dean gutted my unit for the useable parts and replaced with crap ones. Dean didn't care so I will no longer bring business to him and I wish him terrible luck. Thank you Con artist Dean! more

Fixed my 24"" LCD monitor, warrantied work, friendly staff. 3/4/2011

I started having intermittent issues with my 24"" Acer LCD monitor of 3.5 years (6 months out of manufacturer warranty of course). Somtimes it would come on then turn off again while using the DVI port. I took it into Deans for a free estimate, and they called the next day saying they could repair it. At first I decided to just take it home and not worry about repairs - after all it was an intermittent issue (but I knew it would only get worse) - and after speaking with Ron at the front counter, who was very friendly, I was confident leaving it with him to do the repairs. I also spoke with the owner, Dean, when I went to pick it up. He seems to be a customer-service oriented gentleman, and assured me they would take care of it if there were any problems with the service. When I picked it up, they had it connected to show me that it was functioning properly. I love this monitor and would have hated to get rid of it. Deans saved me a new monitor purchase, and they warrantied their repairs for 60 days. Warranty is always good! I also spoke with Ron about maybe bringing in my 40"" Samsung LCD TV in the future (it's starting to make noise). I have a feeling it's the cooling fans, so I will try to shoot some compressed air in there and see if that helps. If not, I'll bring it to Deans (or have them come to my home) once it starts getting REALLY annoying. more

Dean's ""authorized by Emerson/Funnai"" 1/27/2011

When our two month old Emerson 32""LCD went dead, we went through a 3 day runaround ending with an authorization number and a phone number to Dean's TV in San Marcos. When Emerson asked if they were close, I told them no but that was all they offered. When I called Dean's he got the authorization number and told me to ""bring it in but call first to make sure someone is there"". When I told him I was in McDade he repeated the ""call first"" instructions. Called Emerson again, they gave us HD TV in Austin, who said ""bring it in between 9 and 6"". Being 40 miles closer and not needing an appointment, seems like it would have been the first option. Dean's may be great but I'm not going to go to someplace to leave my equipment where they are out making calls. more

The Reviews are Right 1/8/2011

I searched for a reputable TV Repair service when my 3 year old 47” Vizio went kapoot. I drove 40 miles to Dean’s TV Repair because of all the positive reviews I saw here. I had a very good experience and was relieved to get my TV fixed at a very reasonable price. Well worth the drive to know that I was not going to get ripped off and waste a trip. I just wanted to confirm that Dean’s is the place to take your electronics for repair. I found out that they would have come to my area (Hamilton Pool – outside of Dripping Springs) – but I saved a few dollars taking my TV in. Highly recommended. more

Dean TV Repair Goes the Extra Mile! 12/2/2010

Our 72"" Mitsubishi DLP television stopped working after only one and a half years, and I called Dean TV Repair to see about getting it repaired. I can't say enough about how polite and professional the repairman was. He kept us informed by telephone about the arrival of the part to the shop, he even came to our home on Thanksgiving day, because he knew we had people who would be at our home for the holiday! \r The problem was that the lamp cartridge had burned out, and after replacing it, our TV is back in service. I would recommend Dean TV Repair to anyone needing service on their television set.\r more

Not That Great!!! 10/18/2010

Called these guys about a 21"" Viewsonic monitor I had that was not working properly. Guy was very friendly and nice. Told me it would be $19 to look at it, The problem I had was the monitor light stays on like you are getting a signal, but no picture. If you turn it on and off the screen comes on for a second and then goes off again so it is not the screen itself. But Dean's told me that no matter what was wrong with it I would end up paying $150. I have a huge problem with that as number one, how do you quote a price without even looking art it and number two you can buy a new one with what they want to charge you to fix the old one. more

Fast, Friendly, Walk-in Service 8/4/2010

When one of my computer monitors went to black and I couldn't quickly find a similar replacement I searched for repair online and found Dean TV Repair & Electronics. I don't live close so they repaired it while I waited. The service was excellent and I highly recommend them to everyone needing electronics repairs. These guys are good. Give them a call. more

Great Customer Service and Repairs 8/2/2010

We contacted Dean's when our 50"" went out and they came to our house as scheduled. When it couldn't be repaired at home they took the TV to the shop and returned it as promised. We did call them back when the same issue came up and they came out the same day, fixed it, and didn't charge for the follow-up. I was very impressed with their level of service and would use them again in a heartbeat not to mention recommend them to anyone. Pros: Great Work and Customer Service for the Price more

Very Impressed! 7/10/2010

I went to Deans after reading the reviews. I dropped my 27 inch TV off on Friday and picked it up Saturday. It works great. \r \r My TV just stopped turning on. When I dropped it off they told me they would call me the next day (Saturday) with an estimate. They called me at 9:30 am, told me the problem and the cost of repairs. When I asked when I could pick it up they said today (Saturday). I had my TV back and was watching it by 2:30 pm the same day. The staff was very nice and I was very impressed with the service and price. I highly recommend Deans. Be careful parking. Not many spaces and you back out on a very busy Lamar street. Pros: Great Prices Cons: Parking more

Dean's TV Repair Rocks 7/6/2010

My almost new Samsung LCD went on the fritz. Past warranty, of course. I could not find any help with Samsung and my internet searches left me without any viable solutions. Basically, I learned that a repair would cost at least $1000. I was seriously resigned to perhaps having to replace it. A $1000 LCD would be nice but not as nice as the $2000 one that broke. Anyhow, I found Dean's online, called and spoke directly to Dean. I opted to take my TV in. He helped me carry it in, gave me assurances that he could fix it but that there could be a delay on getting the part.. While I was there the UPS guy came in and it was obvious that Dean and he had developed a great rapport. Dean gave me a discount and a price and said he'd call later that day. He called in a few hours and said it was done. I went in to pick it up, he did an in-store test and then helped me load it again.\r Dean's is the best. Given how these flat screens go down and how lousy the warranties are, Im keeping Dean's phone number handy! Pros: Fair service, fast, honest more

Excellent Service, Efficient and JUST AS PROMISED 6/21/2010

I called Dean because of RAVE reviews, and I was pleased with his analysis of my tv's issues; his prompt reply via phone; his estimated quote was the price that I paid, and he had the TV ready within less than 24 hours after I took it to his shop. He worked on the motherboard of my Toshiba plasma, just as he said he would, and honestly, it came back even better than before I had the black rectangle issue (intermittently, a 2 inch by 11 inch rectangle would appear vertically, just right of the center of the screen...he fixed it!\r \r I would recommend Dean to anyone and everyone. Pros: quoted a price, priced as represented; quality more

Great Customer Service 5/24/2010

My projection TV was not working properly. I called Dean TV Repair to come for an estimate. The repair technician came the same day to look at my TV. The repair was completed the same day within 2 hours and I received a great price on the repair. I will use DEAN TV REPAIR for any future repairs on all of my TV's. Thank you Pros: Timely Repair more

Trust your TV to Dean's TV Repair !!! 5/17/2010

I was able to get on their schedule in a few days. After describing our TV problem, the technician knew exactly what needed to be done and could fix our TV in our home.\r \r He arrived promptly. He was very professional. He took his shoes off to enter our home. He wrote down an estimate before he started and we agreed to the work. He quickly set to work. He was able to fix our TV, had all supplies with him, and finished the job within the hour. He re-assembled the TV and left everything like it was before he came. The TV is working properly again!! I would highly recommend Dean's TV Repair to everyone. Pros: efficient, good work and professionalism more

Phone call led to calling someone else 5/17/2010

I called them to see if they had heard of the problem with my TV (Mitsubishi DLP). The guy that picked up the phone was hard to understand and seemed more interested in getting me to bring him the TV then trying to trouble shoot over the phone. I don't want to pay for a diag fee if it's going to cost a ton to fix. I read all the other reviews and chose to call these guys. Maybe I had the misfortune of someone new picking up the phone. I don't know but I won't be calling them back. more

Thank you 5/7/2010

After reading so many positive reviews I decided to trust Dean TV with my repair job, and I was not disappointed.\r \r Prompt scheduling led to next day repair with the most professional technician sent to my home. Trusting them with a $4500.00 television only led to bigger surprises with such a fair (shhh, to cheap) repair bill.\r \r Thank you again and feel confident that you have earned one more loyal customer. Pros: Speedy Service and Very Professional Cons: Not finding them sooner more

Excellent service 1/28/2010

I have a Mitsubishi 60""LCD that would not power up. I explained to Dean what the TV was and was not doing. He explained to me it could be a number of things that would cause the TV to not function. I scheduled an appointment for him to come out and troubleshoot the problem. After we hung up, it wasn't 10 minutes later, Dean called me back. He had downloaded the manual and research the problems. He had me perform some troubleshooting technics on the TV. Within minutes my TV turned on! I think most other technicians would have taken advantage of the situation by coming out to bill for service and parts. Dean did not charge me for his expertise. He demonstrated honesty and a concern for his customers. I will tell all my friends about this experience. Thanks Dean!! more

BAD TV, Great service 12/17/2009

My Mitsubishi 65"" TV has needed a few new bulbs through the 2 years of it's life. Dean repaired the first bulb VERY quickly and at a very good price. After more issues with the TV, Dean provided excellent service. I will use Dean for all TV my repairs. The new store is very easy to find and very good looking. Pros: Fast, quick service more

Like new 12/2/2009

Dean came out to reapir our Sony Video Scope 2 Tuner PIP. Given this is Christmas time we wanted to save a little money and not be forced to buy a new TV. Dean helped us - instead of costing $800 for a new 52"" TV, it cost us $350 to repair our current 52"". And the best part is he cleaned the unit and it is now working like a brand new TV straight off the showroom floor. (It only took him 30 minutes to do all of this) We are very impressed with Dean and highly recommend him to all our friends and family. Pros: Very Professional more
