You can keep those South Philly cheesesteaks ----never was impressed anyway. Now Dalessandro's knows how to make a cheesesteak!! The rolls are always fresh and the steak is cooked to perfection. Actually, the first time I had a Dalessandro's steak was in Aspen, CO (transported in by die-hard fans) and I have been hooked ever since. Every time I visit Philly from the West Coast we go to Dalessandro's. Simply the BEST. more

a truly transcendent experience. you may be able to have a cheesesteak in another city or at another restaurant, but you can only have the true philly funk in one place--dalessandro's! make sure you get all the peppers you can! more

Plain and simple...The bread/rolls are always soft and chewy...the chicken and beef is always tender not full of grissle...and cheesy man cheesy!!!:-}) Ive been to most of the others but I gotta say ""Dalessandro's"" is the very best of them all!! Not bad, but, the meat is chopped up like hamburger and they didn't have a cheese selection (only had American), at least when I went. Big with lot's of meat though. Pros: Big Steak sandwich Cons: No cheese selection more

Dalessandro's is the best. The rolls are always the softest and freshest around. The meat is never chewy and they add just the right amount of cheese. The staff is friendly and you feel like you are eating right out of your own kitchen. Pros: taste, price Cons: seating more

These cheesesteaks are the best I have ever tasted. They are so good that everytime I visit my hometown of Philly, I make sure I carry them on the plane to take home to Idaho. I recommend Dalessandro's for anyone who loves cheesesteaks or for anyone who has never had one! Pros: Inexpensive, Worth the Wait, Best Tasting Cons: Long Lines, Scarce Parking more

From San Diego to Roxborough 8/12/2002

After seven long years on the west coast, I drove into Philly. one think on my mind... Dalessandro's... Unfortunatly, I did not get there right away. Imitations on the west coast compare to the mediocre attempts of other steak shops. They can be good, but nothing compares to the true and pure.... Dalessandro's. I got my cheesesteak before retuning to San Diego, I wear my Dalessandro's T-shirt with pride out here and hope that it wont be 7 more years until I get the real deal again! Pros: true to the old style, consistant product, damn good! Cons: parking, seating (always busy) more

With the american cheese(no cheese whiz nonsense)melted throughout the entire steak sandwich, one bite of a Dalessandro's cheesesteak is definately not enough. While eating the steak on a fresh amoroso roll, you have the option of washing it down with a cold beer to give that extra bit of satisfaction after a long day at work. They don't need to deliver. The aroma the creeps from the cracked doors will persuade one to stop in for a sandwich while driving by. Pros: fast service, ample parking space, inexpensive Cons: crowded, run out of rolls fast, run out of tuna fast more

Dalwssandros is the best steak in philly the only rason celebs go to genos,pats or jims is cause of the hype there sanwiches have too much fat in them in my opinion but they r still good steaks.dalessandros on the other hand is a great steak it has no fat in it and there is plenty of meat on the sandwich and it is a great roll and this is the best steak and ive tried them all. more
