This is in response to DARREN H (below): This is Complete Air Mechanical, the Company that is now answering the Crums Climate Control telephone numbers. \r \r Crums filed Bankruptcy in March 2012, and we are NOT associated with them in ANY way, nor do we have or ever had ANY of their employee's working for our company since the closing of their business doors (December 2011).\r \r We are an authorized HVAC Contractor to handle the Manufacturer Warranties and Manufacturer's Extended Warranties. We are located in Longwood FL.\r \r As for our company finding a leak, and another company finding no leaks, we use updated, high end leak detectors, these leak detectors will detect the smallest of leaks, that way you are ensured to catch the problem early on to avoid any further possible damage to the equipment. There are a lot of leak detectors out there that Technicians buy based solely on the price of the tool, which ends up giving them a non-quality leak detector. We take pride in our service, and all of our technicians are equipped with good, high quality, more expensive tools that WILL do the job their designed to. \r \r As for the $700 labor charge to change out an under warranty Evaporator Coil, this includes the items that the Manufacturer's DO NOT, i.e. Any Shipping & Handling, Freon, Labor, Acid Away, Filter Driers and and Misc materials that may be required to complete the job. It also includes the travel time to take the warranty item to the Distributor, exchange it for a new one, and the return with the item to the customers home. We also warranty this item with our labor for a 1-yr period as well. $700 is a very competitive price, and an Industry standard, unless you deal with a ""One man in a van"" or ""unlicensed/uninsured flight by night/side work technician"" type of company/person, which we are not.\r \r It is VERY unfortunate that SO MANY consumers have been affected by Crums Climate Control, in a negative way in a lot of cases, with various bad stories to tell. It is our belief that Crums Climate Control is a fine example of an old saying that, ""The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of a low price is forgotten"" and it should always be kept in the forefront of the mind that ""the cheapest is not always the best"", as you have to be careful to not choose the ""WRONG"" company.\r \r more

Beware--Crums is out of business and now someone ""new"" answers their phone. New name, but same technicians and same tactics. They just tried to tell me a 2 year old system needed a new coil. They wanted $700 for the labor to replace it even though the parts were under warranty. Called another company who came and inspected the unit and could find no leaks. more

Bait and switch and bad business practices. 11/20/2011

The company is not stying behind what the salesperson sold, he is no longer with the company and Mrs. Wrong does not want to honor the warranty given on this unit so, I will file a lawsuit to claim my damages. This unit is not working right and has been leaking after installation. more

Cold A/C 7/21/2011

Re: Our positive experience with Crums Climate Control Agnes & I would like to share with you our very positive experience with Crums Air Conditioning. Agnes recently purchased a home in East Orlando. After a home inspection, it was reported that the existing A/C unit at our new home was defective and under-performing. We ordered an A/C check from a local reputable company and learned that the unit was actually a Condo unit and the heat pump did not function. So, we decided to replace the unit and started requesting quotes and looking for advertisements. I had previous Crums experience with a new A/C install back in more

High prices, little work, fairly incompetent 7/11/2011

I hired Crums Climate Control to install a new AC system. At the time they were advertising as one WFTV local experts. They did an ok job installing the new system, but did have to come back to correct some settings. The next year I was happy to have them come service the system, replace the air filter, etc. I figured this year would be the same but when they arrived they were completely unprepared. They refused to do any real service, even something as simple as clearing the drip line. When asked to clean the coils, they said it would cost an outrageous $650. That alone is not what has me writing now. The real issue is that they have become completely incompetent. I had to cancel a prepaid order for a new air filter because it took over 3 weeks, with weekly calls in between, before they finally told me they cannot get the filter...to a system they installed. A filter that I immediately purchased online for $20 less than they were charging. Look for another company. more

Crum's Climate Control Disreputable 6/30/2011

I own several rental properties. At least 2 a/c repairmen have recommended Crum's as a reputable company with reasonable prices. When I needed a new unit in my home I did not hesitate to respond to one of the many flyers that they frequently send out. According to the ad I could purchase an Amana Heat Pump for 932.00 + 210.00 installation. This turned out to be a ""bait and switch"" tactic as I ended up paying 3900.00. I paid cash in advance and the poor service immediately began. The installation promptly failed the inspection by the city. When I called for a stat the sales person did not respond until I notified the owner Brian Wrong. Approximately 6 months later I discovered that the unit had been installed without a filter which voided the warranty. I sent an email to Brian Wrong who did not respond. A couple days later I called but was not allowed to speak with him. Rachel called back and said she'd ""note"" my records that the warranted wasn't voided and they'd send someone out to inspect and clean the coils. No one showed up as promised and I emailed Mr Wrong again. Another appointment was made for the following day, again no one called or showed up. I emailed Mr Wrong again and demanded satisfaction within the next 2 days. His wife's response was to claimed that they had been out, that I wasn't home and they called twice and I didn't answer which was a blatant lie. I paid 3900.00 for an overpriced unit that has no warranty and this company is resorting to lying and giving me the run around. I discovered that the license for Crum's Heating and Air (the reputable company which was a member of the Better business Bureau) license expired in 1993. Brian Wrong dba Crum's Climate Control appears to be a different owner capitalizing on their good reputation. They are not a member of the BBB for obvious reasons. more

Don""t Get Ripped Off 6/13/2011

My AC went out on Friday Night. Had a maintence contract with Crum. Called they came out the next day. They were able to fix it in 15 minutes. The rub. because in was the weekend tne maintence contract $69 niagnostic did not apply. they had to replace a capacitor. They did give me my 25% discount on my part. $267 - 66.75 = 200.28. The Rub. I looked up the part Online and it cost $39. Don't get ripped off! more

Excellence all the way around 2/11/2010

My AC was probably 27 years old (the compressor was 15 and the handler was as old as the house - 27) and Crums came in and took care of everything from financing me to helping me get all the money saving deals I could ask for such as a nice $350 credit from Progress Energy and about $1,900 in rebates and discounts! All in all I am very pleased! Pros: Outstanding workmanship, easy to talk to, courteous more

Good Job 1/26/2010

Crums Climate Control installed a new Amana heat pump and Amana air handler in my condo apartment. Paul did the installation with a helper. The job was completed in a very professional manner and I am very satisfied with both the new equipment and the way these installers completed the work and cleaned up afterward. The unit is working fine and again I am very glad I employed Crums Climate Control to do this job. more

Good Job 1/14/2010

Crums were recommended by my sister in law after they did a great job on her house. After getting 3 estimates from different AC companies, they came out as the cheapest and the best deal/warranty over all. Install was nice and easy, been working great! Pros: recommended, quick and nice more

needed heat 1/11/2010

The heat didn't work in my new home. I had a letter from Crums from before and called to see if they could come fix my heat. They came out the next day and fixed it in a half hour and it was alot cheaper than I thought. Will call Crums again if I need further service, had a good experience. Pros: got the work done quickly, great price more

Crums to the rescue! 1/5/2010

With the 28 degree cold snap we had this past week in Orlando, our older AC unit went on the fritz, and we couldn't get the heat to work. Ironically at a stoplight, I saw a Crums van in the lane next to me and I jotted the number down. They came the very next day, and fixed my unit right up, and gave me a great deal! Now my family can stay warm during this ridiculously cold time. Thanks Crums! Pros: Quick, affordable, great to work with Cons: Cold fronts! more

Great work from Crums! 12/22/2009

At Crums, the reps were very helpful, and our tech Jonathan was very fast, efficient, and friendly. A couple of days later a problem arose but Karen at dispatch and the tech Chris were able to solve the issue immediately! I would definitely recommend Crums to all my friends and family. Pros: fast, efficient, friendly more

Really Pleasant Experience! 12/20/2009

When our air conditioner recently went on the fritz, we contacted Crums. They scheduled a technician, who arrived promptly at the time designated, and was very courteous and funny. My youngest daughter enjoyed watching him fix it and was fascinated with the mechanics of the AC. He went out of his way to make her smile. He went over our system, found the problem right away, and we haven't had a problem since! Thanks Crums! Pros: Courteous technician, prompt service, kid friendly more

Excellent Service 10/6/2009

after a terrible experience with del air (botched install, giving me the run around, asking for more money to fix their mistakes) I called crums and they were able to fit me in that day. the techs were very friendly and were able to explain what was wrong and how they would fix it. their fee was very modest and they even threw in a thermostat upgrade for free. I wish I had purchased my air conditioner from them to begin with, I would have saved a lot of time and trouble. I will definitely be recommending crums to all my friends. Pros: installers are great! Cons: should have called crums before delair! more

Crummy's Climate Control 7/13/2009

I dealt with Crums at 2773 Navigator Ave, Sanford, not this Winter Park address. Is this the same co.?\r \r First, the new A/C system I bought was very expensive. Should have shopped around. Then they tell me I don't have the proper voltage for it once it's already installed. Then I get a pool of water streaming from it and it turns out they didn't install the proper equipment to detect those kinds of events, which would not have happened in the first place had they installed the outside drain line properly. I had to miss WAY too much work to stay home and deal with these idiots. OH, and they didn't put the model numbers on the original invoice, so OUC rejected my claim for conservation rebate. Pros: The thing works for now Cons: Sloppy work, etc. more

Just what I would expect 6/2/2009

Not a week goes by that I don't get a letter from Brian Wrong, from Crums Climate Control, bemoaning the fact that he cannot manage his staff... that's because he guaratees them a full 40-hours a week, regardless of how many installations the company has.\r \r I've never called; and, never would. But, I do recycle the letter. Pros: Nothing Cons: What a waste of paper -- go green, recycle the letter more

Rip Off Company-Throw the fake mailings in the Garbage-They own a print shop 3/7/2009

Stay away from this company! \r \r They will show up to do work and a so called route manager will show up to check the work. Yeah right! They are showing up to see what else they can scare you into buying! Their prices are very high for the cheapest of equipment. You will get all kinds of scare tactics from their sale people. Then nothing but pressures you to sign the contract. Do not let them in your house! You will be sorry you ever did. Call a company who has a sole and cares about their customers! They do still exist. Just search online for all the complaints on this company. \r This company was bought from the founders and run to the ground. His name is Brian Wrong. The original ""Cums"" was a good company! Pros: You don't have to call them Cons: Everything more

AVOID TO CALL THEM 5/20/2008

WON'T KEEP THEIR SCHEDULE. ONLY TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN.\r DO NOT BOTHER TO CALL THEM. THEY WILL RESCHEDULE YOU FOR THE VERY NEXT DAY, BUT TOMORROW WILL NEVER COME !!!\r THERE ARE PLENTY BAD REPUTATION IN THE RIPOFF REPORTS WEB SIDE.\r GOOD LUCK IF YOU WERE ONE OF THEIR CUSTOMER.\r JUST WISH SOME ONE CAN SHUT THEM DOWN. THAT WILL BE VERY GOOD FOR WINTER PARK AND SURROUDING AREA.\r LOI THAI Pros: GIVE THE PROMISE RIGHT AWAY Cons: NEVER KEEP UP THEIR WORK, THE MOMENT YOU SIGN THE CHECK, IT DONE more

Great service company 3/14/2008

I have dealt with these guys for over 12 years, they have never let me down, I feel like their price is a little on the high side when it comes to service but they always fix it right the first time and I have never had problems after a repair, (twice in the last 12 years) They do my maintenance every year and I'm always very happy with the service. The secound time I called for a repair I was a little unhappy with the repair price so I called and spoke to the owner of the company Brian Wrong who explained everything to my satisfaction he even gave me his cell phone number and asked that I please call him if I ever recieved service that disappointed me.....Where else does that happen?\r Karen Hill Pros: The owner of the company will speak to you if you have a problem more
