Always been wonderful to my pets...and me! 6/8/2009

I'm shocked to read bad reviews of Crossroads. I have had several animal emergencies over the years, and the staff at Crossroads have always been competent, empathetic and caring. Even with the "grooming accident" on an elderly cat, they did not scold me (I had tried to cut a mat out, and instead cut her skin), and assured me I was not the first, nor would I be the last to do this. The other time that stands out in my mind is with my old Chow, Apollo. He had been diagnosed with chest tumors, and I wasn't sure how long he had. On a blistering hot holiday weekend, he went into respiratory distress, and I couldn't bear to see him suffer until a business day. The staff and doctors at Crossroads treated me with kindness and sympathy, and allowed me time to be with him as they sent him on his way to Rainbow Bridge. There have been other, more minor visits, but they have always been wonderful. Yes, their rates have gone up considerably, but all vet fees seem to have quadrupled in the last 10 more

Polite and Freindly Staff 4/24/2009

Took my dog because I thought he broke his leg but ended up being a fracture. I expected it to be pricey and I was right. They basically just put a splint on and Doc said he'll call me if surgeons fell it's necessary to do surgery. If not, then it'll heal by itself. more

What an amazing staff. From the moment I walked in with tears in my eyes, I felt like everyone truly cared for my dog and my own feelings. The kindness that was shown to my family at this scary time was so appreciated. I would never hesitate to bring my dear pet here again!!! more

Horrible Experience! 1/29/2009

I took my cat in very early in the morning because she had been vomiting and had trouble urinating. First of all they took her to the back room and i would have preferred for them to physically examine her in front of me but instead they were talking loudly and laughing the back room for three hours. Then when they actually took her blood and had gotten the test results back the Vet on Duty told me that her bilirubin was at very high levels, but when i took her to my vet the next day he said that if the bilirubin was high then she would be yellow and so would her gums. My Vet also took xrays and gave her a Barium series and found her liver to be normal. They claimed to have Hydrated her and even added that to the paperwork that was intended for my vet. When i got to my vet the next day he told me that she was very Dehydrated. They initially wanted to charge us $1,000 for a variety of things but there's no way i could afford that, i ended up paying $530 for basically nothing. It seems a more

This place is a ripoff!! 11/14/2008

Our dog swallowed a sleeping pill and we frantically took her to this place on the advice of an animal control officer in the city where I work. When we got the Gracie there, we were told to call Poison Control and after a $60 charge to do so, Poison control said there was no need to do anything for her, she would be fine. HOWEVER, they had already taken Gracie back in the back and while we were STILL on the phone with Poison control, they gave Gracie something to throw up and then gave her two injections, charging us over $200 PLUS the $60 we had to pay Poison control for the call. Why would they tell us we had to first call Poison Control to see if it was dangerous and then do all these procedures against the advice of the department they told us to call?!! We love Gracie and she is like our child. We would spare no expense to take care of her medically, however, Crossroads definitely took advantage of our anxious state and they will NOT get anymore referrals from this direction, more

Incredible 7/24/2008

This was the first time my husband and I have experienced the warmth, care and compassion of any animal hospital.Dr.Blackwood has the heart of gold and it showed the minute she walked into the room. She was loving and gentle with our dog and to us as well.I will admit the cost that day was a bit much but our experience there was well worth it. The staff is wonderful, respectful and knowledgeable. The place is incredibly clean and not anywhere did we encounter any bad smells The staff never displayed any discomfort when we asked to tour the facility,it was welcomed.\r I will be the 1st to recommended this hospital to all our friends in church and look forward to a long relationship with our dogs, staff and Dr.Blackwood.\r Leonardo and Fa. more

My dog could not urinate. =( I took him in on Sunday afternoon at 7:00 p.m and the office was nearly empty. By the time we left at 10:00p.m, the office was packed. Luckily our dog was admitted as soon as we got there. I agree with the previous review, the hospital looks nice from the outside and the waiting rooms were very clean. \r \r The low estimate was 600$ dollars. It covered the consultation (the visit was 55$ before 9:00. After 9:00 it goes up to 75$) x-rays, catheter, and overnight care. Since they cleared my dogs urethral opening, I considered bringing him home and taking him in to the less expensive vet the next day, but...the nurse explained IN GREAT DETAIL and care, the risk we would be taking. She took us into their private lab area to look through the microscope at the crystals he'd been passing in his urine. \r \r She told us about his behavior during treatment and just had an overall caring way about her. Made us feel safe. \r \r He didn't have any stones. They recommended a more
