Editorial review from Citysearch 7/6/2014

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND: There have been 4 separate documented [time-stamped photos, videos and documentation] water related incidents resulting in flooding in our own unit between May 16 and July 4, 2014, one resulting in water pouring from wall sockets, fire alarms and electrical fixtures. Discussions with tenants in other buildings in this complex indicate similar experiences and we are concerned that these infrastructure issues may be systemic. I have filed a complaint with the Henderson Building Inspection Office. Further, management’s handling of this event has been condescending and appalling – the attitude being ‘deal with it and don’t be late on rent’. The four events:\r 1. May 16, 2014: A “slab leak” involving the hot-water pipe leading from our water-heater to the front bathroom resulting in flooding of hot water in my son’s bedroom and bathroom. This incident resulted in ten large holes being made in the walls throughout the apartment which were present for several days and an elevated electrical bill.\r \r 2. June 24, 2014: The failure of a water line supplying a toilet in the apartment above us resulting in water pouring from a wall-socket in my sons bathroom, the fire alarm in the hallway [which was not replaced until July 1], the air ducts in the dining room and from the framework in hall closet - all of which is on video and photographed as it occurred. The result of this incident was the placement of ""drying"" equipment whose disruptive noise prevented Quiet Enjoyment of our rental property for several days.\r \r 3. July 1, 2014: The flooding of the area below our air conditioning unit, with alleged “condensation” standing up to two inches deep in the three foot by five foot area below the unit which then seeped through the wall soaking the carpets in the hallway and living room below the electrical outlets there. Our television and PS-3 were wet but fortunately still usable. The result of this incident was the return of above noted equipment and the disruptive environment that prevented Quiet Enjoyment of our rental for several days. \r \r 4. July 4, 2014: Heavy leaking from the apartment upstairs’ water heater, located above our air conditioning unit resulting in water running down the wall containing electrical outlets. The result was the return of the noisy and disruptive drying equipment that has disrupted further our quiet enjoyment of the property. \r \r On July 5 we were issued an eviction notice for failure to pay for these substandard living conditions while repair work is taking place and parts of the apartment are unusable – also time-stamped photographed for presentation as public record in complaints and litigation.\r \r Given our experience as well as similar apparent experiences related to us by tenants in other buildings within this complex, concern with the possibility of mold, and the apartment management’s condescending handling of the affair we cannot in good faith recommend this property to anyone.\r more

This place is a joke. It is not safe and the security they claim to have at night is never seen. My car was damaged and I worried every time I had to go out after dark. The office staff is VERY unprofessional. Seldom see the manager and the assistant is so full of herself she can't take care of her tenants or work with the staff. Maybe if she didn't spend time on personal calls it would help. I lived there 3 years and the leasing agent I rented from still didn't even know who I was. Repairs don't get done correctly and worn out things do not get replaced. They really rip you off when you move. Charge you for everything they think they get away with. And look out if you have a pet. They charge a pet fee, but give you the impression that it's a deposit against damages by the pet. You will NEVER get that money back ($300.00) and then they will claim pet damage when you move so they can charge you. I am so glad to be out of that place! more

Don't even think about it! 3/1/2010

I had a horrible experience with this place and would not recommend it. It started out with them showing me a beautifully remodeled apt that I thought was awesome, until I moved in. The apt was in horrible condition! The bathtub in the one bathroom was in such bad shape that I would not use it. They promised me upon move in that they would re-surface BOTH bathtub/showers. Well, they only did one and then told me the other was not approved. It took months to get all of the things fixed that they promised upon move in. After that, no one cared, about anything. They are rude in the office, don't return phone calls and it's apparent they don't care about their tenants. And it seems that only the manager ever knows what to do. If you call and ask a question, they don't know - the manager has to call you back and that never happens. I could go on, but I won't. Just very poorly managed and I hated it there! Glad to be gone. Pros: the pool - if and when it's open Cons: everything else more

If I could, there would be no star. 3/21/2008

The ""management"" team is horrible. Theyre nice at first until you've signed the lease then they no longer care about what you have to say. My apartment had no air conditioning throughout the whole summer... it was constantly 90+ degrees... the unit would just bring in hot air from the outside... the maintenance had come in on 4 different occasions and was not able to do anything. Summer had ended before they could even fix it and by then it wasnt a concern. We received no credit for it, instead we had $300+ electric bills. The dishwasher never worked, there was a termite problem as well as other gross insects. When our lease was over, we were sent an incomprehensive bill asking for $800+ in damages. They will charge you for additional cleaning fees on top of the cleaning fee deposit when you do sign the lease, so you're paying it twice. They will demand a whole new paint job when they refused to even supply the can of paint upon move out for ""touch-ups"". (the paint was fine when we left). I would NOT recommend this apartment complex to anyone... it makes me wonder where the management staff lives.... more

Not a great place.... 11/11/2007

I have lived here for some time now. And have experienced incompetence. 2 months plus waiting for windows, door insulation to be fixed. Screens for windows as well. Not a great place to live more

managers are rude 9/1/2007

Don't trust the managers they don't do their jobs and they are rude!!!!!!! Cons: managers are rude more

DON'T LIVE HERE 9/14/2006

I moved in over the summer did my initial walk through upon moving in and found 5 things that needed to be fixed. It took them at least a month to fix 3 things. I've been here 4 months now and the other two things have yet to be fixed. Parking is horrible, yes it is covered parking but it's not assigned you have a tag to hang that says you can park there but that IS NOT enforced. I live in a one bedroom, one bath. The water heater is SO SMALL that I can't take a shower without the water getting cold (and I don't take long showers), forget filling up the bathtub to realx (unless you want a cold bath). The majority of the people in the leasing office ARE NOT very friendly. The price is good, but really not worth it. Pros: the price, accepts pets Cons: parking, timely manner of maintenance, water heater more

Just Awful 5/4/2006

Beware of the Crossing Apartments. Black toxic mold, bugs, filth, everything broken. dont rent here. a real nightmare. cheap rent , yeah, and i can certainly see why! more

Don't trust the Management 5/4/2006

Parking is a nightmare, service is inadequate, they have even had the audacity to change items in the lease agreement to their benefit - A major fiasco when they decided to charge for water usage, still unresolved after months of switching between the water company billing and the management billing. I would not recomend this complex to my worst enemy! Cons: Parking, Service, Management more

The parking is a nightmare. The management came up with an idea to fix it, but never enforced the rules. In 6 months my water heater broke down flooding my apartment, and my A/C broke down. It's cheap, and as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Pros: Price Cons: Parking, Upkeep more
