Como's

I have tried twice to have a good experience here at this restaurant in fashionable Ferndale, but there will not be a third. First time, over-priced steak prepared on a flat surface grill. Tough and tasting of over flat surface foods. Vegetable was frozen and may have been freezer-burnt. Second time, dines out on their ""patiyuck"" (grease-tap very near out there) and the pizza was ""ok"", but the hostess cared too much about her appearance and not about the guests. Felt as if I was an inconvenience to the ""scene"". They brew ice tea but can't serve it on the patiyuck! WTF? Anyway, like I said, there will not be a third. It's really a shame that a place that has been a staple in ferndale has gone so far downhill over the last few years. The patio was a nice addition, but now it is a place of complete chaos. Trying to get service out of the waiters is like pulling teeth. There must have been a change in management a few years ago, because everything is rapidly going downhill. I am not a pizza lover, and Como's pizza has created a convert! Try it with eggplant, portobello mushrooms & onions, and you'll never go back to Buddy's. more

The food here is too pricy and it DOES NOT taste good at all. The food is bland and sloppy. The price for a refil his outrageous. the bar is the best thing about this place. Pros: Bar Cons: Anything else more

My first time there was a good experience. Didn't have Pizza but the Sunday Brunch was a fantastic selection of well prepared foods. Wasn't cheap but neither is my stomache. Very relaxed atmosphere. Nice friendly family atmoshere ,makes you feel like your at home with all your relatives.Just the way a great Italian eatery should feel like . I personally have been going to Como's for decades ,and nowhere do I love it as much as I love to eat at Como's ! P.S. the rest of the menu is fabulous also. The first time I went to Como`s was for my welcome back party, as I was just home from Europe. The food was AMAZING (I recommend the Filet Mignon with Zip sauce!)! I have yet to be disappointed by ANY aspect of the place. Not to mention our waitress (HI AMY!!! REMEMBER ME! the outspoken blond guy!), she was so REAL I felt like I was being waited on by a friend. She even helped me to meet the now love of my life by giving my phone number to him when I lost my nerve to do so! If you live in the Detroit area and have not been to Como's, well ...you have my sympathies! Como's has GOT to be one of the best things that happened to Ferndale! I have been living in Germany for the last year, and can't wait to get back...to COMO'S! Pros: great food, good service, good prices Cons: its always full!!! more
