Comfort Wizards Heating & Ac

I used Comfort Wizard and the owner, Harley, worked on our unit. Very good guy. I started a bi-annual service plan (summer and winter maintenance) with them up until I had a bad experience. They sent a new technician to the house who said he was in training and did not have any experience or certification. He explained he had been in the restaurant business and this was a new job. After servicing our unit he said our coolant was very low and we must have a leak. He commented how hot it was inside the house and said someone else would have to come out and do the inspection and repair. I advised him that we had absolutely no problems with our unit prior to his arrival and it was hot inside in the house because the unit had been off for 20 minutes. The unit is 9 years old and well maintained. He said he would top off the coolant and see how that worked. Of course the house cooled off after five minutes when turned back on. I called the office twice to speak with Harley and left messages for him to please call me. On my third attempt, weeks later, they said I could not speak to Harley because he was always very busy. The lead technician supervisor then called me back. I forget his name. He came to the house to talk to me and even brought the employee with him. Why would he do that? We discussed the matter and he tried to convince me that sometimes the AC units just break down. He pointed out a humming bird in our feeder and stated that AC units, like the hummingbird, were fine and the next moment they weren’t. At that point I had to hit myself in the head to see if I was awake. Despite trying to reason the circumstances with him, that the unit had been performing very well both prior to and weeks after the new technician’s visit, and that the unit had simply been turned off and the house became hot, I finally had to ask him to leave. We went the rest of the summer and winter with no issues. Now I’m looking for a new company. Just thought I would pass this along after seeing Comfort Wizards’ ad. more

I had a great experience with this company. I wish all salesman were like JG. He walked me through and explained to me his quote and about HVAC systems. He was not in a rush to get out the door and wanted to make sure all my questions were answered. We told him our budget and he worked with us to try and provide the best system possible for our price range. Comfort Wizards is not the cheapest around, but has some of the highest quality. When they performed the startup they stayed unit it was finished, it was a late night, but everything worked and JG even followed up the next morning to see if there was anything else we needed. I have worked with JG, a Comfort Wizards salesman and found him to be professional, knowledgeable, and not your typical salesman. His concern was not a quick sale, but the total package the overall comfort of my home and family. He was thorough and explained why he recommended certain equipment over others. We used Comfort Wizards through our home warrenty company and it was a disaster. It took over SIX weeks for them to finally fix our air conditioner. It took them a week to come look at the system, over 15 days to order a part, another week to install the part, another week to come back after the system broke the next day, and another week to order the second part and install. I am fairly confident that it only took them the last week with the second part because our realtor was on the phone with corporate and there was pressure. Otherwise I firmly believe I'd still be here sweating. I'm sure not all of this was Comfort Wizards inability to take care of thier customers in a timely fashion, as I'm sure AHS had a part in all of this too, but they were certainly NOT communicative or apologetic. I don't believe we got one apology for suffering for six weeks. The men who came out to fix the unit were extremely nice and competent.... BUT I think they are just overloaded, so CW -as a company- can't handle all the work that is coming to them. It was a nightmare experience. more

Not long ago we had our system go out. Its an old system, but the failure was unexpected. We received a 1 year home warranty (which I would never recommened anyone having) and the warranty company sent Comfort Wizards out. I am mechanically inclined, but by no means an HVAC guru. The service tech that came out was prompt, professional, and able to explain what was wrong with the system and what needed to be done in a way that I did not feel talked down to. The only issue was the home warranty company who did not want to go with the recommendation of Comfort Wizards. Found someone else how told them pretty much the same thing and Comfort Wizards ended up coming back to make the repairs. I am very happy with the actual service and customer service as well. I will absolutely call them first for a quote on a new system when I can. In the mean time they will be my first call for service. Pros: Locally owned and Operated, Customers are Valued Cons: Not more companies like them who care about their customers more

We needed a new system and we got 5 quotes. Comfort Wizards was the only company that came in and did a full load calculation on our house. Our house was never very balanced and with the load calculation they were able to balance the house. Our house is very comfortable now. We were scheduled with them through our home warranty company. They told us we needed to have our air turned off (this was in 100 degree heat). I am understanding of this, but not when they canceled on us two days in a row. After the first cancellation we were told that they could not give us a first thing in the morning appointment. So I went to work early knowing that I would have to leave work early. They called me shortly after I arrived at work telling me that the technician was on the way and would be there in 45 minutes (first thing in the morning). Two and 1/2 hours later I'm still waiting. I call and they tell me that the technician has just resigned that morning. Somewhere after the time he called me he resigned? And they don't have anyone else to send out today. I don't buy it. Something is up with this company. I asked why they didn't bother to call me and they stated that they turned the notice into the warranty company and it was up to them to inform me. Meanwhile - I miss work waiting on them to show up! This is customer service at its worst! more
