OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE 11/21/2008

I had a receipt from the Willow Lawn store dated back about 4 years. I took it to the \r Short Pump store today and was treated like royalty even though I told them I was using the receipt. The customer service was some of the best I have had and they even gift boxed one of my three items. (I wore the other two out.)\r \r Yes, I will be back and I will continue to highly recommend them. more

great jewelry 2/14/2008

hey lady VV\r \r ive been shopping there for 16 years and the staff and service are the best, I cant believe you would even say something so ignorant like that. A locally owned business run by one women, would not have become so successful by scamming you out of your ten dollars. your an idiot. more

Buyer Beware 1/4/2008

I bought a friend a gift there for Christmas 2007 and the owner told me the box was ""coded"" so if my friend wanted to exchange the fgift, the ""code"" would serve as her receipt. She did not like the earrrings so I went back to exhange and the ""code"" on the bottom of the box was for $47.00 when I paid $53.00. I found the same pair of earrrings in the store showing a price of $53.00 so I did get my store credit ..... but what a scam. If my friend had carreid the box with the ""code"" on it she would have gotten only $47.00 worth of merchandise when I paid $53.00 plus tax. Or was the sales clerk telling me this and pocketing the money herself from the owner. Buyer beware. I have to use the store credit as they don't give refunds but I will never shop in that store again and am telling everyone I know of the scam they are pulling on peoplel. more

Cocoanut Jewelry 10/22/2007

This is the rest of my story. If this post comes up first please read EVERYONEHASONE review first. So the story continues:\r \r The sales clerk told me there was a sign on the desk by the register. Another sales clerk said it had been moved. They both also told me it was on the receiept. What good does that do ya???????? The sales clerk called the owner WENDY at the Short Pump location and the sales clerk explained the situation to her. After she hung up with WENDY she said ""Sorry it will have to be a merchandise credit"". I told her how unfair that was and YES I was very irritated and told them that they should make people aware of this BEFORE THER BUY. . I left my store with my credit and went right outside and called the owner at Short Pump. NOW here is the whole reason I am writing this review. Not because I have such a problem with there return policy and YES it stinks but life goes on. It was the way the owner talked to me. When I called I asked for ""WENDY"" and she said speaking. I said I just had left her store and was wanting to speak to her about a situation. She then said she was on the other line long distance and asked if she could call me back. I said sure no problem. When she called me back I calmly explained to her the siutation and that I though it was a unfair way to do things. She replied by saying that she could do things anyway that she wanted that she was the owner and that she didnt even have to do that and it was her right to do it how ever she pleased. So I kindly responded that YES she does have every right and that I had every right as well to write a review and I said ""THANK YOU AND HAVE A NICE DAY"" and hung up. She then had the gull to call me right back. When I answered she said 'MAKE SURE YOU SPELL THE NAME RIGHT"" and I told her no problem and that I would and then she hung up on me. I am very shocked that she would handle her business this way. Apparentley she has forgotten the meaning of customer service. I hoped she learned from this. more

Cocoanut Jewelry 10/22/2007

I recieved a gift certificate for $25.00 to Cocoanut Jewelry from a friend. A very nice gesture. I am familiar with the store seeing them in the various malls in the Richmond area. The first thought that came to mind when I opened it was how nice of my friend, the second was I remembered that every time I walked in this store that I would walk right back out. I recalled thinking they jewlery looked a bit cheap and poorly crafted, and not to mention VERY overpriced for what you are getting. I am used to going to PENELOPE for nice, inexpensive, fine crafted silver jewelery. { and no I do not work or am affiliated w/PENELOPE} I am just a fan of the customer service and there mechandise. O.k. to the story. Earlier this month {October] after already having the G.C. since June and making numerous attempts to find something at either location and not finding a thing close to the $25.00 I finally decided that if I was to use this certificate and not waste my friends money that I was going to have to add money to buy something. I found a pair of simple silver 12mm bead type. {nothing special at all} that were $37.00. The same pair at Penelope $14.99. I added the extra and paid the difference with my debit card. A few weeks went buy and I had not even opened the bag or even taken them out of the original tissue paper that the salesclerk had wrapped them in. I decided that it was ridiculous to pay that much for them, so I went to the Willow Lawn location and spoke with the sales clerk. I was honest and explained to her the situation and how I just didnt really care for the style of jewery that they carried and just simply wanted to have the difference that I spent added back to my credit card and have another $25.00 G.C. issued and to leave it blank so that I could give it to someone else that might actually like the store. The salesclerk told me they did not give refund sonly store merchandise. I asked her were it was stated because I was not aware of this. more

Great place to find unique jewelry 10/3/2006

Cocoanut is a great place to find unique jewelry and other gift ideas, such as whimsical clocks and other decorative items. A favorite. There's lots of variety in each price point. They also offer repairs and sizings. My most recent trip was to their Short Pump location for an exchange (they don't offer refunds). The item I picked out the day before was not going to work out. Jessica was friendly, attentive, and accommodating. No guilt trips or pushy sales talk. She made my shopping experience a real birthday treat. In short, she gave good customer service. I've been a part of a retail management team, and I know that without associates giving good customer service, a business might as well keep the ""Closed"" sign up. Without happy customers, there's no business. That day, I was a happy Cocoanut customer. Thanks. Pros: good customer service (Jessica), variety and selection more
