Cobalt Blue

I have very curly hair and have had difficulty finding someone who knows how to cut curly hair. Robin at Cobalt is great. She listens to what I have in mind and really does a great job. She even did my hair for my wedding. I got so many compliments on the cut and color. I was very pleased. So if you need a great hair cut and color (especially curly hair) recommend Cobalt Blue. more

Robyn at Cobalt Blue is a true artist. I have very fine thin hair, and she took her time giving me a dry cut that is absolutley perfect. I have never found a salon in Austin that I wanted to do repeat buisness with. I am usually very turned off by the uppity attitudes found in many of the salons around town, and I've tried lots of them, but my experience at Cobalt Blue was refreshing and I'm looking forward to my next appointment. more

I have to preface this review with a mention that the last few cut/styles I've had have been disastrous. Searched the web and found this salon and they had just moved not to far away from my place and so I figured I would give it a try. I called and got in right away. Matt was the fellow for me! He asked all kinds of questions about my hair and made lots of notes. He got to the root of my hair issues and gave me a great cut and some great advice about how to deal with my unruly hair. I would highly recommend this salon and Matt. more

Cobalt Blue was just perfect. I called around to alot of different places for my friends and I to get our hair colored at the same time and day, but we didn't want any ordianary colors, we wanted blue, purple and red. When I called i talked to Cody, and I told him what we wanted, and he was like GREAT!! We have all those colors, so right away i was super excited, when we came in Threasa welcomed us like a regular. Cody did my sister and my hair. He was so excited to that, i love that about him. When we was talking to him i felt like i knew him for a long time already, feeling that i was so comfortable with him. I love the setup of the salon, the atmosphere we got, and the staff, they were more than perfect, we walked out looking like ROCKSTARS, because of them. I went to Cobalt Blue on a recommendation of a coworker. I've been wanting a big change to my hairstyle and cut, but was scared to go to just anyone. My coworker's cut is always cute...so after seeing proof, I made an appointment with Theresa. \r \r Theresa was awesome. She made me feel very comfortable, even though I was scared to get rid of my long hair! I was put at ease and trusted her expertise. I've never gotten a scalp massage before, so that was a nice treat!. \r \r Cody gave me a shampoo and deep conditioning treatment. He was great as well...very nice and talkative! Even gave me a foot rest while I was getting my shampoo done! \r \r I left getting LOTS of compliments on the cut from salon staff and other customers. I've lived in Austin for 7 years and this is the best salon experience I've had. They really strive to make you a happy customer. :-) \r \r I live up north, so it's a litte bit of a drive to William Cannon, but it was well worth it. I'll be going there again and again. I chose Cobalt Blue about a month after I had moved from Cedar Park closer to downtown to be near my job. I walked in without an appointment, and although they didn't have any available stylists in the salon at the moment, they happily offered to call one who lived nearby to cut my hair. Turns out, it was MATT, who agreed to come in for an appointment. He is an absolutely amazing hair stylist--I can't believe how lucky I got! \r \r Matt is the man with the plan--for your hair! He talked at length with me about my hair, the shape of my face, and what I wanted in a cut and color. Over the past year, he has created hair for me that I am thrilled with. Matt is always up to date on the latest styles and trends and wants to make sure you get the best look possible. \r \r Always personable, friendly and accommodating--each member of their team has always greeted and treated me like a special customer. I love that they are so personal--it inspires loyalty with their customers. I have been able to refer several people to Matt, and now I have friends with great hair! :-) The move to William Cannon makes it a longer drive for me, but it is still well worth it--a great hairstylist is hard to find! My past experience with getting my hair cut in Austin had transpired to almost needing a valium before walking in to get my haircut. Cody is the delightful young man who does my nails at Cobalt every two weeks. He paints better than anyone ever. He uses high quality products and my pedicure polish lasts two weeks until i go back. Cons: Cant say enough about Cody, hes AWESOME more

Cobalt Blue is a lovely gem, set in an eclectic renovated house near Seton Hospital. The reason I left my last stylist is because they were running a hair-cutting factory -- move 'em in, collect their money, move 'em out. I don't feel that at all at Cobalt Blue. The ladies of Cobalt Blue really know how to take care of you and make you feel special!! I see Theresa for my color and Amy for my cuts, and let me tell you they truly are the best!! I have super thick curly hair and thanks to their expertise it's always beautifully colored and the cut really shows that off!! Everyone in this salon works together and supports each other. I have never seen this before in the salon atmosphere. The owners are extremely knowledgable about color and chemicals. At least one of them works as an instructor at a beauty college. Its like this--if you are not satisfied they WANT to know... they WANT to do all that they can to make it better. After almost three years of being a resident in Austin, I must admit that I'm a bit ashamed of not stumbling upon Cobalt much sooner. I've been on an incessant search for a staple salon and couldn't be happier with my newfound discovery. Yes, the environment is great; yes, I've never been more content with a hairstyle; however, that doesn't even begin to hint the satisfaction that comes with Cobalt Blue. The people of this city are one of the many distinct, unique factors which attributes to Austin's greatness. I feel completely solid by saying that some of these VERY best people are, in fact, right on Medical Parkway. Each one of the staff members have such a brilliance about them- they truly adore what they do. I came to Cobalt Blue on a whim not too long ago. I was in a panic because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get in anywhere. The ladies at Cobalt Blue put me at ease. Friendly service, great haircuts. I've been going to Cobalt for a few months now, and I love the service there. Robin styles my hair, and she is the best ! Everyone that I have met there is quite friendly, actually. I found the place just driving by...cute place (converted house) in a mainly residential area...great ""aura"" inside, very eclectic decor.
