I have never bought a car here, but do get my car serviced here and all I can say is everyone is helpful and friendly. I never have to wait and the prices are fair. I just like knowing that my car and myself are cared for. Walter and Rob Rogers in service are great!! And whoever answers the phone is also really nice and professional. more

Purchasing experience has been exemplary every time 2/25/2011

I'm on my 4th BMW purchase from Coast BMW and not sure why all the negativity either. My purchasing experience has been exemplary every time. In fact, it seems to improve on subsequent visits! All of the salesmen (Rob, Scott, & Scott) now know me by name and are willing to strike up a conversation with me either about the car I'm interested in looking at or small talk. The sales manager (Mark) proved very helpful working out specific requests that I had regarding the purchase of my new cars. He is a wizard in figuring things out! Have just loved each experience with him. On every visit, the entire staff went out of their way to be helpful and courteous. Car buying is stressful, but this staff makes the experience EASY and smooth. Service? Yes, I get my car serviced there as well. Glen the tech, is a hoot! He knows his stuff-I don't feel like I'm getting ripped off. His explanations were thorough and demonstrated his understanding of the product he works on. I appreciated his explanations not dumbed down to make me feel like I'm stupid and not over the top technical to make my head spin. In short, the experiences have been really positive. Part of negotiation is what you say and how you say it. If you want to make any experience positive, have a positive frame of mind going in and a positive experience will follow. If you walk in thinking you'll get screwed, you'll walk out feeling that way. Be firm, do your research, and have good questions to ask. You'll find your experience very similar to mine! Coast BMW is a great place to buy a BMW. The guys there really know their stuff. The three guys in the sales dept have been there forever. I read a few of the bad reviews, and I must say, I can't even beleive them. They go out of their way to take good care of us. They deliver my car to me in Paso Robles any time I need service and my car is always clean. I have now bought several BMW's from them and I would recommend that you do the same. more

!!LONG REVIEW WARNING!! SKIP TO LAST LINE IF YOU DONT WANT TO READ IT ALL. I agree with Jax, not really sure what is up with the bad reviews, but let me share the experience I had over the past week with Coast BMW and Scott Boulanger of their Internet Sales Department. Me - Southern California. Them - 5 hours drive/train north. I found a Certified Pre-Owned BMW online on their website. I proceeded to do a little more research on the car by calling Scott to get some more details not listed on the website, and then proceeded to make an offer over the phone, which was accepted. Then throughout the week, we had stayed in contact by e-mail/phone, and he had always responded promptly, while I made plans to take the Amtrak train up to check out the car with no obligation. I asked him to test drive the car to check for a common transmission problem, and he did so and knew exactly what I was asking about, which showed knowledge and honesty, as where some other dealers might not know what I would be asking about, or play dumb. I was really worried about taking the train up, and the possibility of not buying the car, and then taking the train back down for another 5 hours. It was a really depressing reality, good thing that didn't happen. After I disembarked from the train, Scott was already there to pick my gf and I up, and took us to the dealership. He really did not put any pressure on me, even though I am sure that he was aware that he had leverage on his side, by me traveling all the way up north to check out a car. He took me on a long test drive, showed me how to work the gizmos, and let me and my lady make the decision, and then proceeded to make the deal. BOTTOM LINE - No BS, stuck to agreed price, and great service. What else can you ask for from a car salesman? I traveled a total of 500 miles by land yesterday and I woke up this morning still satisfied. Thanks for reading! more

You get what you pay for 2/3/2011

I am on my 3rd BMW and the Parts and Service department are always incredibly helpful and know my name when I walk in. They have all been with the company for a long period of time and are experts. If I have any questions or want to see the problem with my car, they are always willing to lift it and point it out to me. As a dealership I'm sure they are more pricy than a repair shop but I'm a firm believer in ""you get what you pay for"" and I've never been let down by them. I drive a BMW...they are not cheap. If you want cheap buy something that is not the ultimate driving machine. more

Wow! These guys are truly terrible and dishonest 11/8/2010

I purchased a pre-owned Mini-Cooper a few weeks ago. I was told it had Bluetooth and then when I couldn't figure out how to work it, the salesperson told me he made a mistake and that he would make it right. I researched it and found a way to get it resolved. Upon calling to make the appointment, I discovered that the salesperson no longer worked there. Also, the visor and cigarette were broken and he said they would fix those things. No problem. Now they won't fix anything and they won't give me the time of day. I told them (Carl the sales manager in particular) they were losing a customer and they said they didn't care. Avoid this dealership at all costs. They are dishonest. I would just make the drive to Santa Maria where they give better service and prices. more

Rude employees, unethical sales people. 2/14/2010

Look at other reviews for this company to see i'm not the only one who has had problems with this dealer. I bought a new vehicle from Coast nissan/bmw and paid cash outright for it. After only twenty thousand miles it developed a HORRIBLE oil leak, like 1 quart of oil would disappear every 2,000 miles. I thought coast nissan like most businesses would handle my problem courteously and professionally. I have never ever in my life been spoken to so rudely or heard so many excuses as to why they wont be responsible for the faulty product they sold. During one of multiple trips to try and resolve the issue with the sales manager his wife called and apparently the nights dinner menu was more important than helping a cash paying customer. I could go on and on and on about just how rude and how unethical this business is. It will be a pleasure to see them go out of business. more
