I couldn't agree more with the majority of the reviews here. Ever since our city chose them as our trash & recycling company, we have been experiencing one problem after another. Trying to reach them to fix said problem is like yelling into an abyss. No live person EVER answers their phone. No one EVER returns your call. Therefore, the problem is NEVER fixed or resolved. More often than not, they leave behind more trash than they collect. And, in order to collect our recycling, we have to enclose all recycling in PLASTIC bags--thereby wastefully consuming the very thing about which we're trying to act responsibly. Why is there this disconnect?!?! We, too, have experienced all the problems mentioned by the other customers here (skipping collection days, leaving trash behind, refusing to take trash, never answering their phone, never returning calls, etc.). It has become MORE than frustrating--obviously, since I have NEVER written an online review before, but am spending part of my night doing one now. If you are considering using them for your service--BELIEVE what you read here. They are awful and will cause you headaches. Why the City of Oak Hill decided to use this group is beyond me!! If they (Oak Hill) had done their due diligence about this company, I am sure they would have discovered these existing problems. They could have saved their residents lots of unnecessary problems! I only WISH I could cancel my service!! Unfortunately, my neighbors and I are captive to what our city deems as the proper course of action. This problem is not worth whatever ""savings"" the city thinks it is making. I guess I am as mad at the City of Oak Hill for choosing this lame company as I am at the HORRIBLE company itself!!! We've used Clean Earth for 4 1/2 years now with spotty but mostly reliable service. The past 6 months they have missed 3 or 4 pickups without explanation. Finally, when they missed their early week pickup on a week we had guests coming, I got complete runaround. Did not answer first day, did not return my call the next. Over the space of 3 days I called four times and was told the supervisor would call. John never did, (and still hasn't). By the time they did come, an animal had ripped a bag apart because it didn't fit in the can. I picked it up. Then they had the audacity to leave a bag or two behind because it was ""more than allowed"" for the pickup (because they had not come for the previous pickup)!! My guess is they have grown faster than they have kept up with, and are too busy to take care of individual problems. I called to cancel my service and told them why, and that I would be leaving a review as to what happened. Did not seem too concerned, still have never heard from anyone past the person picking up the phone. more

Wow, they used to pick up my trash, never left a mess, took the occasional thing that wouldn't fit in the can, priced well... Then, all of a sudden, stopped picking up my garbage for 2 weeks. I have left 4 messages over 3 days. I have 4 kids and the garbage is now up to my eyeballs. No response. No reply. Not even sure if they are in business or on vacation or what. more

Tried for SIX MONTHS to get someone on the phone. I'm renting a townhouse in Lenox Village and wanted to swtich the service over to my name. Called every month and was NEVER EVER able to get anyone on the phone regardless of the time of day. Last month not only was the service cancelled but the account for the owner was sent to collections even though she continued to pay while I tried to get the service in my name. WILL NOT BE USING THEM even if they do return one of my calls....which is unlikely. more

I too, read the reviews of Clean Earth, but chose to give them the benefit of the doubt. We kept the service for 2 months, and in that time, they missed three pickups. The last time, I called and tried to get an answer as to what was going on with the service, and no one would return multiple phone calls,so finally, I called and left a voice mail to CANCEL the service. I called another company and signed up with them. The next day, Clean Earth shows up to pick up my trash! So I called again- got a human this time- and she told me she would cancel the account. Flash forward three months later, and I just received a collection notice in the mail. They just have horrible trash service, and the customer service seems nonexistent. I HATE to leave a bad review, but the service has been outrageously bad. more

I've been with Clean Earth for over 1 year and their guys pick up everything I put out - bagged not bagged - doesn't matter. I got tired of being yellow tagged by another service and found that Clean Earth takes everything and has never missed a pick up. Talking to their drivers, I found out they service over 4,000 customers - so these complaints you see on city search are reflective of a microcosym of their total customers. - Thanks Clean Earth for being reliable and efficient... more

I was first attracted to Clean Earth Sanitation for it's value of being a ""green"" company. They offer both garbage and recycling pickup. This company consistently fails to pick up on schedule and more than occasionally fail to come at all! There is rarely a person in the office and when I call to REMIND them to pick up my trash they either give me the run around or act like they have no idea that the drivers are skipping houses. I would URGE you to find another company to give your business to. Clean Earth is NOT a quality company. more

I have used several different trash pickups but was not pleased until I began using Clean Earth Sanitation. They are quick to respond to my questions and are always there on time. they will pick up anything I leave out for the trash, not like the other trash companies that only pick up 1 can, or charge extra for more trash on the holidays. The drivers are courteous. I would recommend this service to anyone! more

Clean Earth Sanitation is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They were suppose to pick up our trash once a week and out of 7 months, they managed to come less than half the time. When I would call, they would say that there driver came by and the can wasnt at the road and when i called today they told me that they had sold the route I am on to another company and that I needed to call the new company and make arrangements with them to come get my trash.Of course, this was after I just paid them for service 3 months in advance. The company is completely unprofessional and unreliable. BEWARE!!!! more

CLEAN EARTH SANITATION IS TERRIBLE. Let me explain. Clean Earth Sanitation bought another refuse collection service we had used for years. Twice every week, this previous refuse collection service came without fail. Clean Earth is a total failure. If I am lucky, they come once a week. I have called numerous times. Those few times that I was able to catch someone in the office, they said they would remedy the problem. But, they have not. They did not come at all this past week. To make it worse, they make customers pay three months in advance. IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU NOT USE CLEAN EARTH SANITATION !! Save yourself money and aggravation. more
