Fun, practical store for the new mom and dad. 3/18/2009

Fun, practical store for the new mom and dad. Spoil your little one here from strollers, to fancy clothes, baby carriers, to diaper bags. \r \r I had an absolute ball buying for my little grandkids here. There was so much babies need nowdays, my credit card was smoking after I got out the door! Not much parking though which makes it a little tough. more

Every time I go in, I feel as if i have to pull teeth to get attention or have someone answer a question for me. The ladies up front seem to be chatting away for one reason or another, and I don't get it. I continue to stop in since it is convenient, this time to look for a second stroller (our first stroller we got elsewhere b/c of the lack of salespeople the first time around.) Although the store was relatively empty, the salespeople were chatting away, oblivious to my presence, so I ended up ordering elsewhere. They have a great selection (however, it's in a bit of disarray) and they do deliver within SF. But every time I go in, I am disappointed at the lack of attention. I was also disappointed to learn that this shop vehemently opposed the ban on BPA when it was first proposed. You would think that a shop like this would have its priorities straight. Banning BPA is not that big of a dent on the bottom line. more

Baby Gear at Citikids 11/15/2008

My wife and I went in there and found the staff and the owner very friendly and really knowledgeable about bay gear. They also have a computerized baby registry and we were able to ad to that registry from home. If you want to go to a store where people really know product - this seems to be the place in a friendly environment. Pros: friendly enviroment with knowledgeable saleshelp Cons: store has lots of merchandise -almost overwhelming. Parking more

I love to go to Citikids to browse and try out things, they have a good selection of strollers and car seats that you can test in your car or roll around the store. The prices are ok, but I haven't made any major purchases there. Staff is very helpful. more

This store has most things that other baby stores have, but I had a great experience with the staff. Worth the visit! more

The staff knows a lot here and will take the time to answer your questions and educate you about products. more

Citikids is so convenient if you live in the city and don't feel like schlepping to BRU or Lullaby Lane. They have all the basics and the salespeople are very nice. more

i originally went to this store looking for a crib. their selection is almost non-existent. i went back to shop for a car seat and i found their salesperson to be very knowledgeable. for a better overall selection, go to lullaby lane more

Selection is ok for beginners. more

This store has a decent (but not great) selection of all the basics, but I'm not overly impressed with it. I would only come here if I didn't have time to go to a Babies R Us or other baby store. Parking is tough. Service is spotty. Store seems cramped. more

User review from LilaGuide.com 12/26/2007

I really depend on this store to carry many of the items I am always wanting or needing from nursing supplies to many infant care needs, clothing and toys. They are a little pricier than big box retailers in the suburbs or online retailers, but the convenience of having it all in one place has been great. I have been happy with the service, so far. more

I find Citikids is a great place to buy things like diaper bags or robeez vs. clothes, etc. They have a selection of strollers, baby-proofing supplies, some toys. It's a scaled-down Babies R Us. Customer service can be spotty and you can find a bigger selection and better prices elsewhere usually. However, it's convenient if you live in the city. Parking is usually a little tough to come by. more

It's not the type of store you'd be drawn to like Giggle or some other stylish store - it's plain but full of great stuff. The service is great, they offer a discount (twin discount) if you buy two of the same items, which I often do. I wander around in there forever finding new things all the time. more

User review from LilaGuide.com 8/3/2007

Not that they need another review. . .But this is my favorite baby/toddle/kids store in SF. They have everything you need and will hold things if you call. They have great toys too. My son gets to play on the train table when we go. more

I really liked Citikids, they asked me more information about each purchase that I made-asked me what kind of car I drove, carried the sample out to show me why the seat that I thought was best wasn't in my car, assured me that the stroller did not have to recline fully (pointing out that the car seat did not, so why did the stroller have to)when we were looking for a good lightweight travel stroller-just really patient and helpful-most of the time. One time I went in there and I thought that I could lay on the floor dying and no one would have noticed. That's the thing here-you have to ask for help. They don't really offer it. more

User review from LilaGuide.com 6/17/2007

I really like the selection of strollers and baby furniture at Citikids. Their prices were comprable to other places. I like that the staff is knowledgable on all the stroller and furniture for kids and they can recommend what is best for your needs. The only thing is that they don't have a good return policy so you have to be sure you want what you are purchasing. more

Are you about to have a baby and need some help finding the perfect stroller, car seat, crib, and everything else your baby needs? CitiKids is THE go-to baby furniture, gear, and clothing store in San Francisco. You won’t find a bigger selection anywhere in the city. They are not a “boutique” store that only carries certain brands — if you hear about something and they don’t have it, they are happy to order it for you or point you in the right direction. Their friendly and knowledgeable staff will guide you through the labyrinth of products in the market. What’s nice is that you can get assistance when you want it but also have the space to peruse on your own if that’s all you want to do. Citikids is a great place to find that last-minute shower or birthday present, too. more
