Editorial review from Citysearch 1/22/2013

Took my 2004 Durango (42,000 miles) to Vero Beach Chrysler, Dodge. Told them there was a small leak in the A/C,""that'll be a charge of $97.00"" they said. I don't need diagnostics! Long story short, after sitting in their waiting room for 9 hours, and they having replaced the evaporator coil under the dash. They come to me and say, it's not blowing cold air, but cool air. They brought it around and A/C was blowing HOT air. (five minutes had gone by) You need a new compressor! WHAT? The likely hood of both going out is insane. They put on a new compressor and said it was fixed. Six weeks later it's blowing warm air once again. This time they put DYE in the system to find the leak. (Same leak I went in for) Six weeks later again warm air. No dye was found. The rear air as we discovered would blow cold air out the front ducts when turned on.(Impossible the service manager said) So to make me look like an idiot, she insisted we take a ride. I turned on the rear air and cold air came out in abundance. Now who's the idiot? Now they get serious, and find a minor leak in one of the hoses at a valve. Same leak I had when I came in, but $2600.00 had leaked out of my wallet. Here's the clincher. I worked with Chrysler Parts for 39 years, and never heard of an alternator and evaporator coil going at the same time. They replaced just what they wanted to to make money. The diagnostics had nothing to do with the A/C unit at all. OH YES, ALMOST FORGOT, They replaced the hose for free. more

No wonder they went bankrupt... 6/30/2009

I bought a 2006 Chrysler 300 and was extremely pleased from the beginning with the car, and the service department at the dealership I purchased from. Now, Chrysler has closed that dealership, and I can't get anyone to help me with warranty work on the car without first charging me a fee. I have attempted other Dodge dealerships, and they tell me that they will have to charge a fee for diagnostics up front. The other dealership would do a diagnosis for free, even if I decided I couldn't afford to have the work done, or if it was not covered under my warranty. We are selling our Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck, and the Chrysler as soon as we pay it off, and I will never purchase another product from this company again. Pros: Beautiful car Cons: Everything else... more

Should be illegal to do what they do. 3/10/2009

I am wrote a letter to Chrylser to express my extreme displeasure with my 2005 Jeep Liberty. In 2006 I went to a dealership in Milford, OH to replace my 2003 Liberty with a new one. I just LOVED Jeeps and was told by the salesperson there that the diesel model would be a great mileage car and the engine would last forever. What he did not tell me was that the cost to repair diesel parts was much more expensive. \r \r What he also did not tell me was that the car I was to buy would have parts failing every few months. Glow Plugs, alternator, air hoses, brakes, calipers, the stereo, the cruise control, blower motor resistor, EGR valve and gasket, Lower ball joints, and Torque Converter have all been fixed or replaced in the last three years. Several of these items had to be replaced TWICE in under a year and I had to pay for the repairs because I had already driven over 12000 miles. \r \r Now I am told that the air hoses need to be replaced AGAIN for over $700 and my windshield molding has to be replaced.\r \r Chrylser has told me in no uncertain terms that there is nothing they will do. They do not have any interest in making this right. They will not take any responsibility. I have spent hours on the phone on hold so that they could tell me that I was out of luck.\r \r I am registering a complaint with the Attorney General right after I post this review. more

Don't buy a PT Cruiser 2/16/2009

Pt Cruiser not worth buying. Bought a 2005 and it had many mechanical problems. Brakes, engine cooling system, oil leaks, and transmission problems. If this car is an example of how chrysler builds their vehicles, my advice is for people to stop buying new or used Chrysler vehicles. more

Will Never Buy Another Chrylser 2/16/2009

I would love to say that my experience has been different than those posted, but it has not. I called because we paid over $2000 to fix a problem with our car overheating fifteen months ago. Two weeks ago, we it began overheating again, and were told that we would have to replace the water pump AGAIN!!! and PAY for it AGAIN!!!! They only guarentee their products for 12 months, and it had been 15 months. I called customer service and had a lady, I use the termly losely here, named Brenda who is suppossed to be one of their senior staff managment yell and hang up. I would love to say that I was rude to her and yelled at her first, but I can not. I was actually nice because I thought they would help me out since I have spent so much money on this car. However, I have to say that when she rudely told me that she would not do anything for me, I calmly told her ""no wonder Chrysler is going belly up!"" That is when she started screaming at. When I have tried to call anyone to complain about her behavior no one can give me a number to anyone. I then received an email with a customer service survey. I answered it and pressed submit, but it stated that ""They were sorry, but I had already submitted it"". That is the first time I had opened that email as I had just got it. I find it amazing that those corporate executives can beg for my tax dollars, but do not feel the need to answer to anyone when their company abuses those same tax payers. Why are we giving these people money? I own two Chryslers, and will never buy another one again!! Cons: Customer Service, Quality of Product, Guarantees more

Still Awaiting Title! 1/15/2009

I financed my corvette in late 2003 through Chrysler and paid it off early in December, 2008. I""ve been tryin to get my title every since. I""ve come to realize that the customer service department within the Chrysler Corporation from the ""supervisors"" down to the ""subordinates"" are all incompetent. I have talk to so many people within this nut house and have been told so many stories/excuses that at this point I'm not sure If I will ever recieve my title. Now, I really understand why these people are losing their jobs and it's because of ignorance and laziness. At this point I've contacted my attorneys and I will let them handle this problem. It is really unfortunate that a company of such magnitude hire and tolerate an abundance of incompetence. This is incompetence when there is no one in a company/department that can get a title, put it in the envelope and mail it. SAD. That's why you are going under! Cons: Service more

Poor customer service 1/8/2009

We purchased a 2008 Chrysler Dodge Caravan SXT in July 2008. Since then we have had nothing but problems with this van. In September we had to call Chrysler road side assistance because all the warning lights came on and the gear shift locked causing the van not to start. The van was towed to the dealership. Since September it has now been towed a total of 3 times and in and out of the service department 5 times totaling in all 52 days that this van has been in the service department for the same problem. The last time being Dec 17th and we did not get the van back until 1/6/09 still unable to repair. Each time we were told that they could not determine what was causing the van to malfunction and therefore could not fix the problem. We have come to except this and decided to purse the Lemon Law. Now really starts the trouble, CHRYSLER. We have done everything that was required of us to start this procedure. The first time we spoke to a customer service rep she was anything but professional. Very rude and offered no help or information what so ever. When we asked to speak to someone in management we were told quote ""there is nobody higher up in management to speak to"". SERIOUSLY!! We have since called customer service a number of times only to get the same run around. What was suppose to be a 72 hour turn around has now turned into 3 or 4 business days each time we call. It has now been 3 weeks and still no response from Chrysler in the form of letter or phone call. I can only agree with the person in the previous review that when you buy a new vehicle you expect it to be reliable. I guess I was expecting for Chrysler to be just as reliable and stand behind their automobiles and their customer. Unfortunately I was wrong. I have made it a point to let as many people as I possibly can know about our problem with Chrysler and their terrible customer service department and hopefully this review will reach many more. Cons: customer service more

horrible customer service 12/16/2008

I recently purchased a new 08 Chrysler Town & Country van. It has less than 5000 miles on it, and it is already in the shop getting a new transmission! I have been without a car for 25 days! Customer Assistance has been no help at all. They tell me that my car doesn't qualify for the ""lemon law"". Give me a break; less than 5000 miles and it needs a new transmission. Plus, this has been no quick easy repair--25 days! I want a new car, and Chrysler won't even let me talk to anyone with authortiy. Their customer service reps say they aren't allowed to transfer calls to managers. I guess this explains why they are getting ready to go under. \r I won't be purchasing a Chrysler again, and I'll be sharing this horrible experience with everyone I meet. I can say one thing...Wehr Motor of Mtn, Grove, MO; and Youngblood of Springfield, MO have been great to work with. Chrysler is the problem! I have never had such horrible customer service from anyone in my life. When you buy a new car you expect it to be reliable. Now here I am waiting on a new transmission. I haven't even had my car for 25 days, and it's time to make another payment. Who wants to make payments on a car they can't even drive!!!! Cons: customer service more
