I really have some fantastic experience to share about Certified Van Lines . We sold our house but weren't sure when everything was going to be final nor did we know where we were going to move to. Even on a notice of 3 days the company was able to schedule my move. On moving day the mover and the foreman coordinated the packing and unpacking process seamlessly and actually came in our budget. All the guys were helpful as they had to reposition furniture once everything was moved in. After the job was done the amount due was less than the initial quote of $ 400 since they completed it before time the amount reduced to $325 for which I had to face a little inconvenience of going to my bank and ordering a separate cheque for them otherwise their service was not bad at all. more

The worst moving experience with Certified Van Lines. First, they show up to pack up the truck and wrap all your belongings. Ended up being twice as expensive and the quote. Then they end up showing up 6 day late at 10 PM on the Thursday night when I have to work the next day. It took 2-3 days just for them to call me back to tell me where my belongings were and when they would arrive. After everything is unpacked I find lots of broken materials. 2 lamps, dresser mirror, bed frame, coffee table, and tv stand. And they offer me $96 for a settlement after I spent $4800 on moving. Absolutely rediculous. I will never use them again and I would tell as many people as possible not to use them. more

Unfortunately I disregarded the reviews and chose this company because they gave me the best quote. Huge mistake!!!! I wanted to move from NYC to CA so I asked if my staff could be delivered in exactly 2 weeks. I spoke to 2 different people, both said it is doable, went ahead and booked my moving out day. The dispatcher called me to arrange a time for the move and he started yelling when I told him that I needed my staff delivered in 14 days, saying that he will have a truck out there in 10 days or I may had to wait 10-14 days from the date I would be available for my furniture to be delivered. After a long argument, he said he would do his best to have everything delivered as soon as possible to my availability date. To make the story short, it took 2 weeks and many angry phone calls to have my staff in CA. They were lying that they would call the driver to get an estimate when he would be in CA and the driver hadn't even left the premises!!!! Suffice to say that at some point I threatened to sue them for fraud when they wanted to charge me extra for long carry in CA. They broke my mirror frame, wine and water glasses, vases etc. Seriously, DO NOT use this company, it will cost you more in the end! Such a pity there is no ""THEY SUCK"" rating! more

I had a good move with this company. We only moved about 2 miles away. I paid what my quote was, the movers were good, and they didnt damage any of my furniture. My sister used this company for her move and she reccommended them to me. Im not sure why there are a few bad reviews for this company, maybe they changed ownership or something but I would definetly use them in the future. more

Their representative personally came to my residence and quoted me a price for one truck to move all the contents. The truck wasn't large enough to fit all the material so they stated I was responsible for the second truck and fuel. I was backed into a corner due to me closing on my residence earlier in the morning. I had a heated discussion with one of the owners expressing my anger with the vehicle not being large enough but had no choice but to have them finish the job. After the trucks were loaded the original quoted price more than DOUBLED. They would not deliver my material until payment was made. I am currently fighting the charge of the second vehicle and other charges which were added. Please choose another company, you don't need this drama when you are trying to move on with your lives. Stay away from Certified Van Lines, they are misleading and the owner is unprofessional and unreasonable. Companies like this have you backed against the wall due to them having all your belongings and will not deliver it until you pay them. We need to put companies like this out of business. USE SOMEONE ELSE AND AVOID THE DRAMA. more

THis company is the worst they lost 3 big boxes. They never call back. They just don't care. DOn't use them more

This is the worst company i have ever dealt with in my life. Any positive reviews on here are clearly fake. It is close to being an extortion scheme. I had. After shpwing up 4 hours late (with NO phone call) - a couple of high school kids showed up, loaded the truck, carelessly, and now im findingnhalf my stuff DAMAGED. Once they packed everything, the truck dissapeared for 5 hours before shpwing up at the location and demanding FULL payment in CASH before taking anything off. BE AWARE - whatever they tell you on phone is a lie. Their quotes are meaningless and this is the epitome of a shady moving company trying to take advantage, They tried charging us by the hour. I even had to call the cops. more

No representitive came to my house. My over the phone estimate was vague yet guaranteed. I was in a bind and had to move. Contract had a scheduled time of 10-11am moving all in one day. Instead they moved the pick up time of my items to 1-3 pm and would have to house my items in their storage in NJ. No call from the driver and both myself and the company tried to reach him. The truck didn't show up until 6:45pm!!! They loaded everything quickly then realized the time and slowed down to a painful pace in order to stretch out the labor time. The foreman tried to fast talk me and get my prices higher. He explained things very differently than the company saleperson did. Left me feeling very unsure and worried. more

We had a written contract with Certified Van Lines for 1pm. They showed up at 8:45am. We work all week and had been prepared to use that morning to finish packing. When we explained this, the mover called his manager who told us we could either move right then or hire different movers. This is after we gave them a $50 deposit, which they kept. This was unbelievably unprofessional. If you need to change the time of the move, you need to call and ask the customer, not just show up early. Also, if you have a written contract that states one time, after asking, you need to send an updated contract. I'm sure they do this often and people are so worried about finding movers, they just go ahead with it. Well, we didn't - we found another GREAT moving company, Nifty Movers, at short notice on a holiday weekend and Certified was out another $300 plus tips. It makes no sense. Shady, shady. more

I will NEVER contact this company for another quote. They originally quoted me a decent price (but in this case you get what you pay for). I hired them, and had an agreement and delivery date for 50 boxes. Nothing showed up on the agreed upon date. I called and was told they would be delivered that day . Once again a no show. I called again and got the delivery rescheduled for the next day. Once again a no show! Later that day they call me and say we are shipping you boxes UPS. I am ok with this. I receive the boxes and find the outsourced box company charges me for the boxes! At this point I've pretty much had it with this company! I email my rep (no response, big shocker with these jokers). I call to cancel my service and get a nice gentleman who kindly says he will cancel everything and refund my deposit. A few hours later I get a call from the ""manager"" who proceeds to call me a low life, and tells me how he wants to punch me in the face, then hangs up on me. So... If you want to be treated like this you should use this company, if not I suggest you find someone else!!!!!!!!! more

Hi. My name is Charlie and I recently used Certified Van LInes as my moving company to get my families belongings transported from NJ to CT. The person i spoke with over the phone set up a FREE visual estimate, and the very next day there was a very kind and courteous gentleman at my door ready to assess the amount of furniture, boxes, and toys (I have four chilidren..so it was a lot of toys) that i need moved to CT. The price they gave me after reviewing the quantity of stuff I had was very accurate and fair. The day of my move a truck showed up with 3 men ready to haul my stuff, they loaded everything quickly and carefully onto their truck and made the trip out to my new house in CT. Upon arrival at destination B everything was unloaded, reassembled and place where i needed it, once again very cautiously and timely. Im so glad i booked with Certified because they handled my belongings with care; making sure nothing was damaged upon loading, unloading, and the trip between houses. Aside from there great effort actually moving my stuff the men were very polite and chivalrous, even my kid were satisfied because their toys were transported from point A to point B in one piece, and you know how much children love their toys.. I highly recommend anyone looking for a moving company to book with Certified Van Lines, their manner of conducting business is very professional. Im so satisfied with their efforts that I have and constantly do refer my friends and family to to book with this company. A five stars rating does them no justice...they deserve 10 stars for thier work!! more

I am a 22 year old college student who just transferred to a college in Florida and to be honest this moving company made it easy for me since this was the first time I was moving out of my dad's home and on my own. When they picked up my stuff from Edgewater they did not scratch or damage anything. I had the number for the driver and the dispatcher and was always in contact with someone. They said they were going to deliver my stuff in 7 days and got it there right on time before classes started. The moving quote was 50 dollars over but that was because I had added an extra futon. My dad will be moving to Florida in a couple of months and he will be using Certified since they took such good care of me. more

I wld never use this company again !! when they got to my apartment they told me I was now being chrgd by the hr the person that gave me an estimate was fired & shouldve nvr thrown in boxes for free & when i called the owner he told me I intimidated the salesman thats why he gave me such a low price ! he told me he didnt need my $ and he wld just pull his guys out .. then they tell me paying by credit card wld add on another 3% chrg ! & I had abunch of house plants that they told me they were not moving when the salesman told me they wld wrap each plant to make sure the pots wld not break! never ever use this company !! more

Talk about fast talking and bait & switch... I literally moved around the corner. They broke some stuff... in the building and the insurance didn't cover it. Also, they tried to play a game with the numbers. I was given a ""rock solid"" quote that would not change. They showed up with an hourly rate. They went over the original rate price which they assured me they would not. I learned one thing, how to deal with moving shady moving companies! more

Hands down the worst moving experience I have ever had. The company does not know how to fax a certificate of insurance, but will confirm to you that they did...many times. The owner Anthony is by far the rudest person I have ever had the pleasure of speaking to. Not only is he rude, he will only return a phone call if it involves paying. After placing 2 emails to him and 4 phone messages, I am still waiting for a reply. The company kept telling me I had a small move and should easily be done with in the 4 hour minimum. Seven hours later (plus the 2 hours I was waiting for the driver to show up) the movers had successfully made the ""small move"" 10 blocks. Furthermore, apparently they did not get the memo that I was the customer and instead repeatedly told me that they were doing me a favor...Never again... more

A couple months ago I was planning my move from new york to florida when I was looking for a moving company. I entered my information into one site and had like 500 companies calling me. Anyways, I choose 1 mover that gave me a too good to be true price and of course I picked them because they promised me the world. When my move date arrived, the guys from another company showed up, and before they even moved 1 piece of furniture they had already slapped me with an additional $569 on my bill!!! the worst part was that they couldn't even give me a legit answer for the extra charges. I told them I did not have the extra money and they just got in their truck and left!!! I did not want to go looking for another moving company once again esp since i had to be out of my apartment in 3 hours!! Out of no where Certified Van Lines contacted me to see if I had a moving company. I explained to them what happened and also that I needed to be out in 3 hours. the gentlemen on the phone gave me the same price the first moving company promised and they showed up 45 mins later!! they had all of my items out of the apartment in an hour and a half, these were some very professional guys. Nor did the price change at all except for a few buck in packing materials that i bought from the guys. I recieved my items a few days later without even a scratch on a box! everything happens for a reason and I believe the first movers messed up because I was soppose to go with Certified Van Lines, and boy am i sure glad I did! I WOULD RECCOMMENED THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE THATS MOVING! THEY ARE WONDERFUL AND PROFESSIONAL. THANK YOU AGAIN GUYS!! more

My friend recommended I use Certified Van Lines last month. I did shop around for a little bit and no other company had better to offer.. if I would?ve trusted it at the start, I would?ve cut out a lot of time wasted on finding better. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! more

Over the year my wife and I heard many horror stories about moving companies and the terrible aggravation that my friends have gone through with regards to their move. I must admit that I was skeptical that they could actually ""deliver"" on what was agreed. However, as it turned out, our experience with Certified National Van Lines when moving from MA to FL turned out to be an overall pleasant experience! The team was highly organized, punctual, accurate in their estimate, reliable and very helpful. They demonstrated outmost respect for our belongings when packing the content of our home and at the same time respected the fact that we were on a tight budget and did not want to incur any additional expenses making this move.
