The basic $5 wash is decent, it gets the dirt, salt, and whatever else off, and gets your wheels mostly clean. The first time I went to CAS, I bought the $10 which adds the ""towe...

A TERRIBLE JOB AT EVERYTHING EXCEPT EXCUSES 2/20/2008

I took my little Civic in for a Deluxe Wash and Hand Wax. When I got it back it had a scratch down the entire passenger side, most just surface scratch, but a couple 1/2" areas was down to the metal. I walked the car before taking it in and there was no scratch. They said it had been keyed. It was also still dirty even after the hand-wax. There was dirt/grime in the concave angles and at most curved edges. They ran it thru the wash a 2nd time and power washed it too, most of the dirt came off but they said it was grime that was in the old paint. I went home and hand washed the areas, it cleaned easliy. They obviously didn't apply wax to those areas. Pros: The interior was wiped down well. Cons: Car still dirty even after hand wax. more

Very dissapointing :( 2/16/2008

I wanted to get my boyfriends truck detailed for him as a suprise for Valentines Day, I was not concerned with price, I just wanted a quality job done so I did my research and Carolina Auto Spa rated the best with city search...I'm not sure if it just depends on the day of the week you go or what but I was saddly dissapointed that Thursday morning...I was there over an hour when they told me the truck was ready. I was excited because the outside was nice and shiny (except for the wheels, they still had brake dust) but when I opened the door I was shocked...it looked like a child had randomly wiped the dashboard and the vaccum job was horrible, there was still trash in places not to mention the seats had not been shampooed and cleaned like I payed for so I showed a guy that I think was the owner and he sent the truck back to have the inside redone. Over a half hour later the truck was ready... the seats were soaking wet and I could have done a better armoral job myself...I have never written a review before but I just moved here from TX and had to depend on these reviews to choose a business so I think that my experience should be known. Pros: Nice waiting area with cute greeting cards to look at (I actually bought 2) Cons: The snack machine did not work nor did the wireless internet more

Unbelievable Job! Excellent Customer Service! 11/29/2007

I just recently bought a Black Mercedes and in certain lights, the paint appeared to have fine scratches throughout the clearcoat. I started researching some Detail Shops in town. I emailed several Detail Shops around the Triangle and got a reply back from Karl, the owner of CAS, almost immediately. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and was very helpful. I scheduled an appointment for a Full Service Exterior Detail and left the car with them for a morning. When I picked up the car, I almost didnt recognize it! The paint was in near showroom condition. Most of the scratches were gone and there were no buffer swirl marks left behind. \r \r Bottom line is, the Customer Service and the Quality of Work at Carolina Auto Spa is phenomenal. Karl (owner), Tim (manager), and Dustin were all extremely helpful and professional. They walked me through the steps they took as well as steps I could take to keep my vehicle looking new. Great work guys! Pros: Great quality of work, Great Customer Service, Great Value more

Don't waste your time. 10/8/2007

As I pulled in, one person tried to run me over! I thought the men inside who helped me were great and I was so excited to see my car-this is the first time I've had it detailed. It looked okay when I got in. The cup holders were not cleaned like they said they would be, nor the door pockets. They only wiped half of the windshield, so now it is very smeary when it's humid. They did not vacuum well AT ALL and didn't even care to lift the floor mats. I'm very disappointed. I will never go back there or recommend it!!! Pros: Nice management Cons: don't take time to even clean the brake dust off your rims. more

They stole a radar detector out of the car 9/12/2007

This was our favorite place to bring our cars until about a year ago. Our family from South Carolina were visiting and needed their car washed. We recommended Carolina Auto Spa in Cary. Driving away after the car wash, my brother-in-law, Matt, discovered that his radar detector was missing. The suction mark left from the detector was still visible on his windshield and he was positive that it was in his car when he turned it over to the Spa. When he called the place, they denied that anyone there had taken it. Upon threatening to call the police and demanding that they find it by the time he returned, the radar detector ""miraculously"" turned up in one of their employee's ""locker."" The manager apologized and gave him a coupon for a free car wash. What a joke! He should have refunded him his money because there's no way he would be going back there for another car wash, free or otherwise. Matt asked to speak to the owner and had left many messages for him; however, the owner never returned any of his calls. Matt called the Cary Police to report the theft in hopes of preventing this from happening to any other customers; however, the Police pretty much told them that they didn't want to pursue this as they get all their squad cars washed for free there! more

Great Wash - Nice People - Extra Fragrances 8/26/2007

Found these guys by web search. New to town. Tried to avoid Sat because I figured it would be busy but I had no choice but to visit yesterday. I was about 5 deep in line at entrance and it took like 20 minutes total. Got my fragrance inside from a nice girl who explained their detail services (which I did not purchase but may come back for). Asked her for another wafer (they don't spray fragrance - according to the girl it speeds up the wash process) which she promptly offer ed to me. Nice - very sweaty guy - walked me to my car and made sure I was happy. Windows clean and they vacuumed between the seat and console which drives me crazy when they miss it. Will definitely be back. The guy at the end told me something about their VIP program - $35 a month all you can eat. Seemed to be too good to be true but he was emphatic that it was a real offer. Maybe next time. Pros: relatively quick for their top wash, nice staff, current magazines Cons: bathroom was a little dirty but they were busy, only two inside cleaning options $14 - $20 more

Find another Car Wash; the person that moves your car may not have a driver License. 7/3/2007

I just bought a brand new 2007 Acura MDX fully loaded for my wife. To assist me in keeping it clean I decided to purchase a VIP service program from Carolina Auto Spa. Two days before leaving to go on vacation my wife decided to take the car in for a quick wash. Twenty minutes later she comes out with a $4,000.00 worth of damage. The car was finish; she just need to inspect it and leave. For some unknown reason after the person has finished wiping the car down he decided to move the car; there were no where to go but foward. Instead of putting the car into drive to go go forward (the pole and cars was behind him) he put the car in reverse causing the car to back into the pole. Correction he back on top of the pole. We call the Cary police to file a report (there was a person from the Cary Police department watching the entire event). The Cary officer took the report from my wife, the manger on duty and the person that back the car on top of the pole. During the time the Officer was speaking with the person that back the car onto the pole ""are you telling me you do not have a driver License at all (out or in state license). The reply was ""NO"". We ask the manger on duty to call the owner Mr. Karl Murphy the president of Carolina Auto Spa; we like to speak with him about this incident. We did not hear from Mr. Karl Murphy until much later. He did not show up the day of the accident, nor the day after as planed. I stopped by on a number of occasions, he was not available . I finally was able to speak with Mr. Murphy in person (I bump into him at the store when I was leaving him the bill). \r \r Mr. Murphy was not sorry about the accident ""that is what insurance is for"", he was very much aware the hiring practice at his business ""hiring of unlicense drivers"". He said it was perfectly legal. His overall attitude was poor, he really does not care about his customers, nor his business practice. If you had damage done to your car ask yourself the question. Why???\r \r SB Cons: The President of Carolina Auto Spa does not care about his customer base. more

Lousy Customer Service 6/29/2007

What separates good businesses from excellent businesses is customer service and Carolina Auto Spa has a lot to learn in this category. I took my car in to be cleaned because I saw that they had very reasonable prices and a good looking facility. The job they did on the car was better than could be expected from an automatic car wash alone, but it was clear that they cut corners. For example, the rags they used on the windows left noticeable streaks and there was a dirty footprint on my carpet after they were done cleaning the car. I also noticed a scratch in my wheel after leaving. It was clear that the scratch was fresh and I am very careful about parking my car, so I decided to speak to the manager. She looked at the wheel and insisted that the car wash would not have scratched the wheel and suggested that I contact a wheel repair company with whom Carolina Auto Spa had a relationship with. I did so and reported back to her what I found out. Given the circumstances, she agreed to pay for the repair, which I appreciated. However, after several weeks I heard nothing more from her, so I attempted to contact her by both phone and e-mail. She did not respond to any of the messages that I left her, so I finally gave up. I think I'll go back to a bucket and a hose in my own driveway from now on. Pros: Prices, Location, Convenience Cons: Poor Communication, Quality of Work more

Best in Town 3/21/2007

I usually don't write reviews, but I have to jump in as well about Carolina Auto Spa. I have been a long-time customer of CAS with different cars over the years and the service has always been impeccable...until one day in the spring or summer of 2005. I purchased a wiper blade for the driver's side from CAS and they installed it with no problems...or so I thought. A couple days later as I'm driving down the road while it's raining, I turn on my windshield wipers. As the wiper is coming across my windshield, it flies out towards the traffic before coming back in to the glass. I took it back to CAS and apparently they had broken the arm that the blade sits in. I talked with the manager and they said if I go to the dealership and get it fixed, they will reimburse me with proof of the bill. I did just that and returned to CAS and showed them the bill, where they reimbursed me in cash right out of the cash register. I decided to give them a second chance and have not been disappointed since. No establishment is perfect and CAS will continue to receive my business because they do an outstanding job. I used to go to Bunkey's before I found out about CAS and haven't been to Bunkey's since because CAS does a MUCH better job on your car. Yes, you have to wait, but the wait is well worth it in my opinion. If you were washing your car yourself, wouldn't you take some time to really clean it well? I appreciate the attention to detail that they give to my car and plan to take it there to get it detailed sometime in the near future. I just probably won't buy any more wiper blades :-) Pros: car is always very clean and will touch-up if they miss a spot while you walk around and check it out Cons: need more locations!!! more
