My wife and daughter and I were in town and went to the Capital Grille despite some of the negative reviews on this site. From the minute we walked in we were greeted warmly and treated by the staff as if they cared about us despite knowing that we would probably never be back. Our server, Michelle, gave us excellent recommendations for both our steaks and our wine (a superb Syrah) and we were so pleased with them. The service was just right... not too fast to be pushy but not so slow we forgot what we ordered. Michelle was back numerous times to make sure we were happy and our wine was poured. She asked us about our family and seemed genuinely interested. As for the food, I had the Porcini Rubbed Delmonico with 8-Year Aged Balsamic (so unique and full in it?s taste), my wife had the Sliced Filet Mignon with Cipollini Onions and Wild Mushrooms (absolutely able-to-cut-with-a-fork tender), and my daughter the Kona Crusted Dry Aged Sirloin with Caramelized Shallot Butter (from the sample she gave me even better than my steak.) My ?Wedge? lettuce salad with Bleu Cheese and Crumbled Bacon was fresh as if it came from the garden and the dressing was so delicious I ate every dribble. The entire night was beyond our expectations. Comparing it to another famous steakhouse we had gone to our first night in town revealed the Capital to be the winner in all categories. Expensive... yes, but well worth it. It will be an experience we will remember for quite awhile and, if ever again in Denver, we will certainly be back.
Pros: Great food, Wonderful Staff, Food served at nice pace, Great Wine
Cons: Price, A Little Crowded
