California New York Express Movers

I just moved from Brooklyn to Los Angeles. I was a bit concerned about using this company at first after seeing some of the bad reviews but I did some research and this company seemed to have a good standing with BBB and it fit my budget so I thought I'd take the plunge. Judging by the reviews their San Francisco office doesn't seem to fair as well as the others. \r \r I asked the movers to show up on the early side because I lived on a busy street. They came when I asked them to, which made it possible for them to park right out front my building. I only had to pay $1.25 for parking because they moved an entire 1 Bedroom Apt in an hour. (Not too much furniture, the only big things were the mattress, a kitchen counter, a desk, and a bed frame) Overall they moved 54 pieces for me. \r \r I received an email from them every weekday letting me know where my stuff was. That was very comforting. My things arrived much sooner then I expected, it shipped on a Friday (Same day it got picked up), arrived in LA Thursday, and was dropped off Monday. (10 days over all - they could have come Saturday but it was inconvenient for me so they agreed on monday.)\r \r The movers themselves were very polite and very friendly. They explained what they would do before they moved my stuff into the truck and when they unloaded it. They gave me the inventory from the pick up and let me check off things as they came into the house. They also called out the numbers on the boxes for me to help me find them on the inventory list. This made it so that I knew all of my stuff was in the house and I wasn't scrambling around to make sure I had everything. \r \r I will say that a few of my boxes were a bit banged up but I think that would be common of moving that much stuff across the country. If I had moved it myself the same would have probably happened. Thankfully I packed my very fragile things in small boxes that I then put into a large box. Nothing was broken.\r \r Overall I highly recommend California New York Express. I had a great experience and it made my move a lot less stressful. more

Honestly, mind blowing service. From the speedy replies, to the most amazing movers on both sides NY & LA.? It was AMAZING. Moving companies rarely get recommended because they all suffer from the same issues- this one should be recommended to ALL. FAST, EFFICIENT AND SUPER PROFESSIONAL. Great customer service. My move from NY to SF was flawless. The shipment even came in ahead of schedule in only 6 days! They also offer in house estimate and email tracking of your shipment. Everyone was professional and the packing was efficient and damage free. Price was exactly as quoted. I would definitely use them again! more

I used California NY Express (Move East) this month for my move from Manhattan to West Hollywood. The experience was great from beginning to end. I sent an inquiry online and received a call back quickly from Josh who answered all of my questions, walked me through the process, prepared an estimate for me and scheduled my move. The team in NY arrived on time (and even called me to tell me they were 30 min away) and they were friendly and efficient. I was thrilled to see that the estimate I was given over the phone was right on! They sent daily progress emails so I could track my stuff along the way and called several days in advance to set a time for delivery. In LA I was just as impressed with the team who unpacked us as they were on time, gave us a heads up as to when they would arrive and were friendly and efficient. All of my boxes were labeled and listed clearly so I was sure everything they packed up arrived safely in LA. All around I highly recommend this team- for the money you can't beat it! more

California New York Express Moving was one of the cheapest options I found available. It s less than half the cost of what I was quoted by Gentle Giant. I have used Gentle Giant before and they were great and lived up to the stellar customer service. I was initially a little worried about CA NY precisely because of how reasonable the pricing was but the customer service was just as amazing. Everyone I spoke to in the office about paperwork and the details of both the move out and move in were very helpful and competent - they called the buildings themselves for the certificates of insurance. The movers were also super accommodating and really knew their stuff - I had a huge couch that is very difficult to move in and out and they were able to movie it in without having to saw it in half. All in all, great experience and feel like I got an amazing price for the quality of service. more

CA-NY Express was AWESOME. It ended up being the cheapest option for transporting all of my things. They were willing to allow my friend and I to split a shipment, and also to have two pick up and drop off places. They were prompt, on time, and had AMAZING customer service. I used California New York Express Movers this month to complete my move from San Francisco to NYC. Beginning with my SF apartment and coming to do on site estimate I was a little worried that there would be hidden fee's and I would soon be charged more than my quote, but I was not. Which was a huge relief, because I've heard horror stories.if you want the best price, courteous service, on time/professional/polite/quickest move in the world, give these guys a try! I am very impressed with California New York Express. The rates are unbeatable and the customer service is spot on. My belongings were delivered very quickly and the movers were extremely helpful and nice. They update you every day on your shipment and work arund your schedule for pickup and delivery. Moving packaging is available for a nominal fee also. I purchased a few items from home depot, like sofa covers and bubble wrap, but they have everything you need if you want them to do all the work for you. This company was phenomenal from start to finish. The sales department was polite, courteous, knowledgable, and flexible in helping schedule our cross country move. The movers in NY were highly competent and efficient, paid particular attention to our valuables. Our stuff arrived early in LA and we requested it be delivered one day before the scheduled time. They of course obliged and arrived exactly when they said they would. The team in LA was professional and competent. They treated our stuff with respect and reassembled everything. These guys were great. I was in a bind three days out from move day. (I had issue with other company.) California New York Express came through last minute. Not only were they on time for pick up but delivered our stuff within 6 days. Not business days. They did it in six days...NY to LA. Crazy. My wife and I were kind of blown away by them. And the price Josh quoted me on phone remained the same the entire way. Moving companies can hit you with charges on the day.They all do it. We've moved a bunch in the last two years so we're a bit more experienced than most. Before we moved we pretty much knew exactly what stuff we had. (That always helps...everyone needs to be on the same page or else that price will change.) In our case, some of our inventory changed the day before the move, I called Josh and told him of inventory changes. He adjusted price to reflect and it was smooth sailing from there. Remember to ask when booking your move about what charges that could come up on the day. Like Long Carry...if the movers have to carry stuff for more than 100 yards (each company has different amount of yards for it to be considered long carry. And each company does it.) Some charge for stairs and depending on where you live they might have to get a smaller truck to deliver your stuff than a 16 wheeler. If they do need smaller truck you'll get hit with a charge for that too. Just do your research and ask, the all important question, ""What kind of charges can I get hit with other than the move itself? Josh at California NY Express will be more than upfront. The delivery teams on both sides of the coast were great. Total pro's and just a bunch of good dudes. We lucked out with these guys and I couldn't recommend them more highly. more

I recently used CA-NY Express to move from NY to CA. I have moved 8 times before, and this was by far the best move experience I have ever had. Quality, respectful, hardworking personnel. Knew how to professionally handle furniture. I I just wish they were in more places than NY and CA! more

I moved from New York City to San Diego for work recently and went with CA-NY Express because they had very good reviews and their price was about $1,000 less than their reputable competitors (there were companies offering less but they had bad reviews and/or gave me a bad feeling). I actually hired them to both do the packing and moving and was generally very satisfied.\r \r PROS:\r Very friendly, especially on the California end. Very respectful of our property and cautious about not doing any damage to the property or apt. They did a better job packing than we'd have done, both faster and safer, and it only took them a few hours to both pack it all up and take it out.\r \r Good price, generally pretty clear how everything is priced out (except for credit card issue, which I mention below). Packing your own stuff would save a fair bit of money, as it can add up quick if you have a lot of stuff, might not have gone with it if we weren't getting reimbursed for it.\r \r Delivery relatively fast once our stuff arrived on the coast. Stuff made it to California, that Monday and was scheduled that Wednesday. Overall, it took a long time for our stuff to get across the country, (pick-up May 22nd, delivery June 5th, even though our earliest availability date was 5/28). If you're in a rush, I'd recommend scheduling delivery ASAP, even if you have to have a third party on the other end to oversee delivery, as I think that makes it a lot faster.\r \r \r All of our stuff got here in good condition. They do a very thorough inventory process that makes it easy to make sure everything is there.\r \r CONS:\r Only really downside, outside of a long delivery time, but I think that's a case-by-case basis, is there is a fee if you want to use credit card instead of cash on delivery. Its about 2.79%, so it ended up costing us about $40 to use credit card, which was worth it to us because we were light on cash, but might be more than you want to spend for convenience and should probably be more clear up-front. \r \r Overall, very good, would strongly recommend. more

Looking for a flawless move across the country? California New York Express Movers just helped my wife and I move all our belongings from New York to Santa Monica, and it was extremely simple. They had our stuff packed up and moved out of our Manhattan studio in less than 45 minutes. The free 30-day storage was a nice benefit as we had not yet settled on a place to live yet in Los Angeles. Once we found a home, I notified them and they had our stuff here within a week. Once again, a quick and easy move without any hassle. They are very careful to keep a list of your belongings and notate each box so you can be sure that nothing is missed. I would use them again without a doubt. What a great experience considering such the daunting task of moving 5000 miles. more
