A move to a new place is never easy, actually it's pretty stressful. The entire process with California New York Express Moving was seamless. They arrived on time for both the pick-up (from Los Angeles), brought my things to a storage unit where my things stayed for about 3.5 months and then brought to New York City in the most timely and efficient manner possible.\r \r I was in constant communication with people in the California office and felt as though they knew my name prior to giving them the job number. I knew that my things were in good hands when I would get a prompt email response back from the team at the California office.\r \r The move itself to my New York City apartment was seamless. The dispatchers called me the day that my things arrived to schedule an appointment to deliver (please note that this was on Christmas Eve). I scheduled a weekend delivery for Saturday morning and was given a time slot between 9-11am. They arrived at 8:45 and finished by 10:00.\r \r They were efficient, professional, prompt and my things arrived unharmed. I would highly recommend using this moving company and should I ever do another cross country move to California, I will certainly use them again. These movers were very efficient and thorough. They moved my items with care and in a timely fashion. Once the items had left NYC I received a daily email with the whereabouts of my shipment. We interviewed three different movers for our NYC - Rancho Mirage, CA move. Seamens sent a representative who seemed disinterested and told us that we should pack in small boxes. His bid was twice that of California New York Express. Wheaton indicated that our possessions would have to come on and off many trucks on their way to California and its bid was one and a half times higher than CA- NY Express. What impressed me the most about CA- NY Express was their advance man Noel who inventoried everything we planned to move and provided a customized bid.\r \r The 3 man team in NYC that arrived to pack our 2 bedroom NYC apartment was headed by Aron, who was simply the best: organized, unobtrusive and efficient. They packed the majority of my apartment in about 6 hours and left us the bare- necessities of our bedrooms. On move out day, the apartment was loaded onto the truck in about three hours. We had many pieces of art and collectibles which Aron carefully wrapped and packed. My only criticism is that I had asked for the packing to go a little slower so that I could individually mark the boxes for easy unpacking. That didn't happen and the inventory Aron prepared was very general with all artwork being labeled as "" pictures"" . I would have marked the name of the pieces in each box.\r \r We received e- mails informing us where our contents were each night after the initial pick up and our truck arrived on the West Coast within five days, right as scheduled. We asked the West Coast rep if we could have a day or two breather and happily she complied.\r \r All our inventory arrived. Nothing was lost.....not one thing and we had 157 boxes in total. The unloading team of three was terrific, following our directions precisely and helping us reassemble and unpack. In total, only one item, an antique clock, was damaged and luckily Noel had advised us to seek moving insurance separately. The delivery took only four hours and the team installed drop cloths to keep from soiling the carpets. They were great and as promised by Noel, in our very first meeting, there was no attempt to boost our bid price. I can’t tell you how pleased I was with my recent move from NYC to LA using California New York Express Moving Co. This company is thoroughly professional and a delight to work with. Their rates are very fair and their customer service staff is friendly and accessible for any question you may have throughout the process. Both the NYC and the LA moving teams were terrific. They were very efficient and organized, yet very careful. They went out of their way not to add stress to an already stressful situation. The truck arrived in LA well within the time frame they had quoted me and they informed me immediately upon its arrival. I was kept informed through email on a daily basis where the truck was during the cross country trip. Everything arrived in great shape – nothing missing, nothing broken. I moved from NY to SF a month ago and used California New York Express Moving, based on friends' recommendations. They were fantastic. \r \r The quote was substantially lower than other companies (I priced them out against 5 other groups), and the service was excellent. For a small NY studio, the move cost me $1200. Incredibly efficient, pleasant experience. CA-NY Express will hold your things at origin for free for a month. Upon shipping, you can track the entire move online and they offer cash back for days late.\r \r Moving is a total hassle no matter what, but CA-NY Express certainly made it a lot easier. more

CA-NY Express Movers made my move so easy. I really couldn't have imaged a smoother process. They did a great job communicating all areas of the moving schedule to me, from cost to pickup. They had the HARDEST WORKING STAFF of movers I've ever seen. They seemed to care about the condition of my items even more than I did. I would definitely recommend them and use them again. Of course, hopefully I don't have to move across the country again any time soon! more

The lead movers at both my pickup location in New York, and ultimately at my drop-off destination in San Francisco, were both friendly, got everything taken care of super quick, and were clear and helpful regarding the paperwork. I forgot the name of the lead mover in NYC but he was fantastic. Tyson lead the move in SF, and he was fantastic as well. Would definitely recommend this company to anyone moving cross-country; it's a difficult move to make and CA NYC Express made it so much easier. more

California New York Express made the moving process from Orinda (just outside San Francisco) to South Orange, NJ, very simple! The staff, from estimate, packing, loading, and unloading were all easy to deal with and were professional. This occurred at both ends, CA and NJ. They were great! \r \r The updates of where the truck was, as they made their trip across the country were also informative and allowed us to not only track the progress, but also prepare for the arrival. The way that the items and boxes were labeled also made it very easy to account for and receive all of the pieces and allowed us to direct the placement of each correctly the first time. \r \r The price was reasonable and you held true to it. There was no confusion or “nickel and diming”, and it was a very seamless transaction. They established expectations and met them. They provided Excellent Service! more

CNYX is an incredible moving company. Unlike other moving companies, CNYX works under one company. So everything is stream-lined and together. They were meticulous at packing all of my belongings and had no hidden fees. My stuff got from NYC to LA in only 7 days and whats even better is that they notified me every day as to where the moving truck was. Constantly keeping me in the loop. CA-NY Express made my relocation from the east coast to the west coast a seamless process. The staff was professional, honest and hard working. Response time to my inquiries (which were often and many) was within an hour of sending or calling. Each box was packed and labeled with the utmost care. The process for ensuring each piece/box made it to our new home was very organized and intuitive (corresponding numbers which were checked off by me as each piece/ box was brought into our home). \r \r As I mentioned the staff was extremely professional. All staff, from sales to foreman to the actual movers. \r \r Cant say enough, if I would ever have to make that type of move again I am calling this company. more

We recently used California-NY Express to move from NJ to CA. We had 3 different companies come out to our apartment to give an estimate (I recommend doing this--if they tell you they can give an estimate over the phone, be wary because they won't guarantee that price--when they come out the day of the move they can say you have more stuff than initially thought). Anyway, my company was paying for our move, so cost was less of an issue for us, but CA-NY Express definitely quoted us the cheapest price for the move. At first I didn't want to go with them bc it was the cheapest quote and also the smaller company of the 3 on BBB. I wanted to go with a different company (the one whose trucks are all over the highway), however the rep from that company was really shady-- sort of a used car salesman type and took a long time to get me a quote. Noel Naughton from CA-NY express got me a quote within the same day. He was also very responsive to all of my questions/calls via both cell phone and email. (For example, after he already did the estimate, we bought a big, heavy crib for our baby so I called him up and he was able to add that to the quote immediately). In the end I went with CA-NY express based on a gut feeling that if the estimator was that much more professional and consistent, hopefully the rest of the experience would be that way. \r \r Noel thought our move was a 2-day job so on the first day, a crew of 4 guys arrived first thing in the AM. They packed up most of the house but left the bedroom so we could sleep there that night. The head mover told us that they were able to be so efficient because we were pretty organized. We already had our suitcases packed that we wanted to take with us on the plane, and had them in a corner labeled ""DO NOT LOAD."" We sort of just stayed out of their way. The 2nd day, again they arrived early, packed the bedroom and loaded everything on to the truck. They were done in less than 4 hours on the 2nd day, I was super impressed. They made us sign off on all the boxes and let us pay the majority by credit card. Also, I have to note, that the apt felt really clean after they left. They definitely tidied up after themselves. \r \r After the truck left, we got an email every business day updating us on the truck's location. It actually beat us to California because we took a couple pit stops to visit family. \r \r Once we got to California, our stuff all went into a storage facility while we looked for a new apt in the Bay Area (1 month free storage was included). Once we found our apt and knew our move-in day, we contacted CA-NY express and booked a delivery day a few days in advance. They came the scheduled day and brought everything into the house (you stand there with a checklist of all the boxes, and as each box is unloaded, you check it off on the list). They unpacked everything, I stuck around to kind of direct them where furniture should go etc, and then took all of the empty boxes with them, which was incredible bc the house felt pretty neat and put together by the end of the day. The balance was paid in cash. Everything was pretty much in tact except for the back of one of those crappy ikea book shelves had a little crack in it. But all of our nicer furniture was perfect without a scratch. \r \r One little pointer was that we had to buy additional insurance as this company doesn't offer the extra insurance through them. Noel instructed us which companies to get quotes from, and we went with the cheapest one, but we will not be needing to file a claim, which is a great feeling!! :) \r \r Another great thing was that the quote from Noel was a guaranteed quote, so even though in the end we had slightly more cubic feet than estimated, it still cost the original price. If I ever have to move again I'm definitely hiring a moving company. Having them pack and unpack everything totally saved my sanity!\r \r (I am posting this review in a few locations bc honestly it was such a great experience). more

The promises made by CA-NY Express are ABSOLUTELY true. \r 2006: CA-NY. 2013: NY-CA. Hands-down only choice after lots of research when I went to NY, and no question that I would use them when I returned to CA. After tons of research of all kinds of complex pricing formulae, CA-NY Express team was transparent and patient. What has caught me off guard is that in all four interactions (CA pick up, NY drop off, NY pick up, CA drop off) the hardworking movers are incredibly kind and friendly. Put everything where I asked. I had them pack all the fragile items (TV, computer, china, crystal, framed art, pictures, you name it) and there was not a single bump or scratch. I think they use some kind of magic to get my things across country twice without a single scratch. A special shout out to Eric Rummel, who patiently took my calls and emails every time I added or deleted one more item, or would ask how much X furniture item would cost to move so that I could set my budget – ship it or sell it? He regularly provided me cost estimates and was always pleased to help. You cannot go wrong with CA-NY. You can only go right, and be sooooo glad you did! And in BOTH cases, they got my things across the country faster than quoted, then asked me if it was OK to come early! Are you kidding!? Of course! more
