The move from NY to California cost exactly what the estimate said it would (and was the lowest quote I received). Moving guys were excellent on both ends, wrapped and unwrapped everything very carefully. They stored my possessions for free while I found a place to live, then the move itself took exactly 7 days. more

AWesome moving experience- hands down! from start to finish.. no up-selling, hidden cost, my stuff was in perfect order and I actually had fun when the NY CREW delivered.. true gentlemen.. wouldnt let me touch a thing.. CLEAN... because I have serious OCD... this is my 6th x country move.. the movers I used b4 were uber expensive companies w/ fancy add ons... my stuff arrived broke or ""missing"" - not good.. Cannot express how happy we are with our moving experience. Not only were these guys the CHEAPEST out there (we moved our whole apartment from NYC to LA), but provided the best customer experience and were the most professional movers I have ever encountered (and I moved a lot in my short life!!). I just recently used CA-NY Express for my move from Long Beach, CA to Brooklyn, NY and the move went great. David Simon was the sales rep that came to my home and accessed what I had. He then gave me a quote that was way under than their competitors price. Not only was I happy with their quote, their service was very good as well. The movers arrived to my home about half an hour before they were scheduled to come and that thrilled me because the job was done sooner than later. The workers started working right away and they didn't lounge around like some experiences I had in the pass with other movers, my shipment was packed sooner than expected. In between the time they picked up the shipment until they delivered it, they kept me informed everyday as to where my shipment was via email until the shipment actually arrived. On the other end, when the shipment arrived at Brooklyn, NY, they arrived within the time frame I was given. They were scheduled to arrive between 8 - 15 days and they arrived on the 10th day. The workers in NY were just as good as the workers in CA, they were courteous and they listened. You asked them where to place specific items and they did it without a peep. I just used CA-NY Express for my move of a small storage unit from LA to my new apartment in NYC. I was shocked at how easy and organized it was. What first drew me to this moving company was the price. When I'd originally moved from NYC to LA, I used a different company and the price was about twice the cost of what it cost me this time around. The movers were kind and organized. They labeled each and every box/furniture piece upon pick up. Upon delivery, they put me in charge of the list of things and I was able to check of each and every number as they placed it in my new apartment. They set up all my furniture exactly as I wanted it and nothing was lost. All of my things arrived in NYC a mere WEEK after they left LA. I'm very pleased. more

Cross country moves are nerve wracking and I was very glad that I chose California New York Express for this move. The folks there were exceptional and helped me to maintain my sanity throughout this stressful experience. They were efficient and professional yet friendly and calm. They were extremely careful with some very fragile art work and treated all of my belongings with care. They appeared where they were supposed to be when they said they would. The estimate they provided was very close to the actual cost of the move. I would not hesitate to recommend them. more

I had to find movers to move a single bedroom from Los Angeles to New York. I called and inquired around, and apparently it costs upwards of $2,000 to move a handful of banker's boxes (mostly clothes I don't wear anymore and I should get rid of. Hello 2009 Urban Outfitters sale rack) a very unique IKEA malm bed frame, bug-bed free mattress, an ironing board, and two surfboards. \r \r HOWEVER, I found California New York Express Moving and they quoted me a very competitive price that was easily under all of the other moving companies. A rep called me as soon as I e-mailed them and he gave me the run down. I even had to change the date a couple times and they complied no problem. \r \r On moving day the movers came exactly on time, they even called to update me for an ETA. They were friendly, introduced themselves and quickly moved my stuff into the truck. They disassembled and packed my IKEA bed frame like pros. They obviously have a very different instruction guide than the rest of us. \r \r They held my stuff till I was able to find an apartment in Brooklyn as they include a free month of storage. When I called them to tell them I was ready to have my stuff delivered they immediately took it out of storage and started to drove it from LA to NY, giving me daily automated daily e-mails that said exactly where the truck was. \r \r On delivery day, they were again on time, made sure I had all my stuff and even put the IKEA bed back together again. After the move they checked into see if everything was good, and gave me a very quick reply to a concern I had. \r \r Definitely recommend for peace of mind, efficiency and response rate. more

CNYE is THE best moving company. On both ends they were highly professional, pleasant, fast and competent. They've answered all our questions, were very patient with us. The team that picked up our things in NYC was fast and wrapped up our furniture and loaded the truck in 3hrs. (we lived in a large 2bdrm duplex). It also took the truck 4 days from coast to coast! I would highly recommend them and would use them again if we were to move back to the east coast. more

Where to start?\r \r This is by far the best logistics company you could and should ever use if you want to ship from CA to NY. I did a ton of shopping around and found this place (with the help of stellar reviews). \r \r The estimate:\r \r From the beginning my estimator was more than helpful and patient (Elizabeth you rock!). I would constantly add or delete items that I wanted to ship as I sold or didn't sell some items locally.\r \r The pickup: \r \r The pickup was very smooth, very quick and most important it was on time! I was called two days before to confirm the price of the delivery before I was charged the deposit fee. These folks waited for me to confirm before charging me for the deposit. I had already signed and returned my estimate and they could very well have charged the deposit the minute I provided credit card information but they waited to confirm that I wanted pickup and use of the service before they charged me. The guys that actually showed up for the pickup were polite and very professional they got everything done in less than 15 minutes. \r \r The delivery:\r \r The delivery window seems a little odd at first but is actually pretty simple. You choose a delivery date and they get your shipment as close to your destination as possible but you allow them up to seven days past the date you choose to get the shipment to you. This makes sense because, from a business standpoint, there is little reason to ship a half filled truck across the country. Regardless my delivery was on the exact date I chose anyway.\r \r After my experience with this company I would gladly refer anyone and everyone moving from CA to NY or vice versa to this company. Attention management or the owner,\r I want to start by saying, I was more then just pleased with California New York Express Movers, I was 100% satisfied with your company. I did my shopping around with many other company’s. Some just gave me lowball prices over the phone, and others came to my house. Next I went to yelp and BBB and to a look at each company. Do your homework and you will see you get what you pay for. This is true for the lowball company or are they really low. The complaints show they are not that low when you want your belongings back. Thy start low then charge you a lot I the end. \r You have big name company’s that come to your home and will do a good job, and not add any surprises at the end, but since they are a franchise company everyone is needing to make money. From the franchise that loads the truck to the franchise that unloads the truck. Don’t forget the company them selves. \r Although California New York Express Movers is a big name it is still one company from start to finish. When the company came to pick up my things they informed me the cost of packing my furniture was a little more then on the estimate, but there was no charge to me since they always go by the estimate. The entire time while they where traveling I would receive emails on how the move was going. The day before and one hour before arrival the driver called to keep me informed on when the will be arriving. Did I mention they where almost $ 1200.00 less then all the other legate quoits. One company was quoting me a somewhat comparable quote, until the realized they put in the wrong zip code, and since I was out of the city the price doubled. \r If I go back to California I will defiantly will be calling only one company. The movers were all very nice and everyone there has been extremely responsive. Overall, California New York was quite professional for our move to LA. Thanks!\r \r I really liked the moving teams, and very much appreciated the estimate (and estimator) in NYC. There were, overall, a couple of issues, but everyone worked to resolve them, and to do so swiftly. I understand that moving is an imperfect science and a very stressful act, so i urge anyone moving to simply be as organized as they can be and to pack as thoroughly as they can. Keep track of what your boxes are, although, thankfully, CA/NY Express has a system!\r \r But, although we had one damaged box (and should have purchased more in insurance), California NY Express has been nothing but super responsive in following up and in trying to take care of issues. I have heard so many horror stories, i am overall very happy. I plan on using them again when we move back to NYC in a few years.\r \r Thanks California NY Express! more

We thought the NY team did an incredible job. They worked fast and efficiently. Even our building super of 30 years said he has never seen a better moving team. The foreman in particular, was excellent. He worked hard, and had a great attitude. During the week it took to drive our belongings cross-country, we really appreciated getting the email updates. When we received the call in Los Angeles that our things were ready to be delivered, we scheduled the move for the following morning. I asked the scheduler if there was any information i needed to provide about the move and was told ""no"". The morning the team arrived at our new house, they were dismayed to see that our house had a flight up the 1st floor and was on a narrow street. This set off the foreman, who was arrived in a distraught mood, and was threatening to walk off the job. The foreman called up his dispatcher on the phone asking why he wasn't made aware of the moving conditions. My husband had to calmy speak to the foreman so that he wouldn't leave and take our belongings hostage. Once the foreman was calmed down, we started receiving calls from the dispatcher who was just rude to my husband. But once the moving team started working, they worked really hard and we were were satisfied. None of boxes went missing or were broken, which pleased us. But I think that we would have preferred not to deal with the agitated and rude attitudes in LA. As a follow up to this review, the customer service immediately contacted us in response to our email review. They took care of us and compensated us for our difficulties. more

\r \r We had a great experience with California New York Express for our cross-country move. A friend who also had a positive experience with them referred them to us and they did not disappoint. Their prices were very reasonable.\r \r We moved two weeks after Hurricane Sandy and CA-NY was very understanding of logistical difficulties in the aftermath. They loaded our 1 bedroom apartment quite quickly were professional throughout the process. They also provided online tracking information while our boxes were in transit. The boxes arrived in CA in a reasonable amount of time (less than 2 weeks) despite the Thanksgiving holiday. \r \r Two movers came to unload the shipment in California. One walked us through a detailed inventory to ensure each box was accounted for. The movers unloaded the boxes in much less time than we anticipated and were very friendly. Our only complaint would be that two wardrobe boxes were smushed on top upon arrival, but this was understandable given the nature of the boxes and the contents. We wouldn't let this deter us from using CA-NY in the future.\r \r Highly recommended! more
