Had my wedding there and wow, what a regret. Don't let the venue fool you when you walk in and think you are getting a deal of a lifetime. Yesterday when I arrived to my reception I noticed all the chairs were ugly burgundy they did not put chair covers on like I asked. I asked for chair covers and our contact person there Alex we had met with us several times and even asked what color sash we wanted but forgot to charge us so they didn’t put them on and wouldn’t take it out of our deposit. My wedding planner got to the venue and the manager of the day was absolutely rude and unprofessional about it claiming it was never ordered and she was never told. My wedding planner said this was the most unprofessional venue she has ever worked with. When it was time for the meal, salads came out the literally no joke 20-30 minutes later the main dish came out, but only certain tables got their food don’t let me forget all the food was cold. Had my wedding there and wow, what a regret. Don't let the venue fool you when you walk in and think you are getting a deal of a lifetime. We had a duet plate of steak and chicken and the chicken was so cold and gross people thought it was fish – ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? My dads table got their food, but my husband’s family did not have food 10 mins after my dad was served and their tables were right next to each other???? It took forever for food to come out my photographer and videographer felt bad for me because everything got pushed back an hour because of the terrible service. Not everyone was served cake, my family didn't even get to have my cake. I guess the servers were lazy and didn’t want to serve our over 200 guest. They were under staffed tried to hold too many weddings at one time and failed. None of the tables were cleared off through out the night there were still salad plates when cake was being served and some of my guest made glass towers because none of their glasses from the bar was removed. They turned the lights on during my first dance and someone had to yell at them to turn it off. Someone dropped salad on the floor and people had to walk over it and it was never cleaned up. The also had other people from different weddings coming in our wedding to use our bathrooms because the other ones were crowded??????????????? There was also servers bringing dirty dishes from other weddings into our hall to get through the kitchen because not all the rooms have an entry way to the back. I would advise future brides you get what you pay for and just because the venue looks nice and the prices are cheap doesn't necessarily mean that it would be nice. There are other places you can look. And Alex is fake he pretends like he cares but he doesn’t. Please go anywhere but here – now when me and my husband look at pictures from our wedding and see the ugly chairs it makes us want to cry. more

I had my reception at Burton Manor in July of this year and could not be happier. Alex was great to work with very flexible and helpful with everything. From start to finish everything was handled perfectly and professionally. The food was WONDERFUL my guests are still talking about it and service was just as good. Thank you so much Burton Manor for making my wedding run so smoothly. more

I recently had my wedding reception at Burton Manor in Livonia and cannot say enough good things about them. The wedding planner that helped me was easy to work with and had a great ideas. The room was beautiful with these really cool lights that change colors. We booked with their wedding special that was served with a steak and chicken entree, the food was very good and service went above and beyond. The bartenders were also good. more

We helped out at the funeral for Detroit Police Officer Brian Huff. The luncheon was at the Karas House (also owned by Burton Manor owner). The luncheon was well-run, the staff very helpful and the food was plentiful and hot. Thank you for being so gracious during such a difficult time for everyone that day. more

I had my wedding reception at Burton Manor in Dec of 09 and it was fabulous. The decorations were awesome starting outside with the life size solders standing guard to the floating snowflakes everyone in the rooms it was incredible. Service couldn't have been better and food was outstanding.\r Will absolutely recommend to friends and family. Thank you Burton Manor for making our special day so memorable more

We just had our Daughter's wedding reception here. Service was good, staff were all more than accommadating, food was good, served hot and on-time. There were absolutely NO hassles or hitches. Alex was great to work with, even when I went in with changes (2) days before the wedding! more

Horrible, horrible, horrible....do NOT have your reception here. Quality and integrity was not a priority. Spend your money elsewhere. Do not recommend. more

We had our wedding here on 8/8/09. Vendors began arriving about 2:30pm for our 6pm reception and there was no air conditioning. We were told that they were a green facility and they do not turn the A/C on until the guests arrive. Come to find out there was an A/C problem that they were aware of but did nothing to fix. It was 85 degrees inside!!! We had guests who were leaving because it was so hot, our cake was melting and we had to ask them to bring out fans to try and cool things down. The owner initially told us the building had been struck by lightning and fried the units but later changed his story and admitted that he never called a company because he did not have the money to do so!! One of our guests worked in HVAC and he actually went up on the roof and it turns out that had they called a company when the problem started, it could have been fixed in 20 minutes and plenty of time to cool the room before my 200 guests arrived. I was scheduled to have my reception here in summer 2009. Well, I was recently added to the growing list of Michigan's unemployed so Burton Manor was no longer an option for us as its already relatively costly (for mediocre food, I might add). Basically by the time I found a less expensive place, I was in BMs 'penalty bracket' - 90-179 days, not only do you NOT get your $500 deposit back but you have to pay THEM 20% of what your total bill was! No place else had this policy, mind you....Anyway, lets just say BM is not willing to work with you on a payment plan. They expect you - even without a job - to come up with the money (in our case, they wanted $1435!! But since we'd already given them $500, they are keeping that & saying we owe them $935!!) in order to "stop the clock" on the penalty increase. If you cant come up with the money RIGHT THEN, even if you sign the cancellation papers, the penalty increases from 20% to 30% & so on. If you book with BM, PLEASE make sure you're sure ab more

The first time I have been here for my cousins wedding last year September of 2006. I was amazed when I walked into the banquet hall. It was beautiful. They have a lot of parking.\r \r The service was lousy, my table was the last to get served and they didn't have a lot of food to go around if you wanted seconds. The only thing I liked was the chicken. more
