I have been a customer since 1998 and have used their grooming service since 2003 for my 6.5 yr old dog . Everyone in this great shop cares about our pets (and we humans) Very knowledgable about nutrition they have helped me with 2 geriatric, special needs cats by recommending healing diets as well as diets for young healthy pets to help keep them that way. The owner & groomer Mindy is one of the most caring people I know. Her groomers are gentle and talented & the bathers are kind. Regardless what brings us into the shop we never feel rushed, ignored or like an unimportant customer. The retail staff is always willing to help, knowledgable w/ great sense of humor. I being a pet care provider myself recommend BG&PS to all of my customers - and strangers. I love going into the store even just to say hello - it's always a pick me up after a day/week. Having tried other local shops we always return to BG&PS more

My dogs always look so great when they come home. The staff are skilled, professional, friendly and they clearly care about dogs. My dogs don't even seem to mind coming to the Continental even though it is well-known that even though they love to swim, they generally hate baths!Thanks for everything! more

i'm surprised to read anything negative about brookline grooming. the staff is friendly and helpful, the grooming is the best in the boston area, and the product selection is amazing. they specialize in raw diet foods and have more knowledge on the subject than any other store i have been to. they recommend natural, organic, and safe products. above all else, they love animals and can offer advice on all aspects of pet care. mindy is by far the best poodle groomer in new england, and is the local authority on all things grooming and dog related. don't listen to the other posts. this place is amazing. \r more

Great little neightborhood store. I can't speak about the grooming services, but I've been buying cat food and litter here for a few months now. I've been very happy with their selection. They carry premium and natural food brands that aren't sold at Petco or the supermarket. If that's what you're looking for, and you're willing to pay the prices (because premium pet food ain't cheap, as I have learned, plus this is a small store so they probably can't mark down as much as a superchain), then you'll like this place. They occasionally run out of things, and the supplies (bowls, toys, etc) are a bit pricey. But overall, I love this store and I recommend it!\r more

family environment, great place to take your pets, dogs, cats, ferrets or whatever, and a great place to go ask question about health and diet, even troubleshooting questions about products. Knowledgeable staff makes me feel comfortable even when I don't know what I'm talking about. \r more

I love taking my dog here to get groomed-they always do a top-notch job, and I love the selection of animal goodies! Not to mention, the owner, Mindy, is awesome, and I love the rest of the staff as well. I can't recommend this place enough. more

Kassidy always races to get into the 6/11/2012

Kassidy always races to get into the door at Brookline Dog Grooming. It seems that she has a good time there and we know that she is safe. Being open 7 days a week is certainly a plus! Even though Kassidy's bark isn't the easiest on the ears, the staff is good humored about it! more

I really enjoy taking my dog to this location. 5/22/2012

I really enjoy taking my dog to this location. It is fun to let her pick out her own toy, and she even gets a treat! Maybe I am too much of a dog person, but anyone that loves my dog the way that these people seemed to, is pretty great in my eyes. My dog loves it so much that every time we walk by it, she jumps on the door because she wants to go inside. In addition, all the animal products they have here are fantastic. I love being able to buy my dog a toy that I know is organic....as in she will not get cancer from ripping it apart and eating it (as dogs so often do). I love ""do it yourself"" doggie wash as well! I would definitely recommend this place to others with a dog in the area. more

As far as the pet supplies selection goes,it's a great little store. They have cute pet carriers and a huge food selection. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the store cat Mikey was so sweet! Anyone who loves pets, myself included, feels the pain of your loss. Losing a canine companion is a sadness that "non pet people" will never understand. There is never a good time to lose a pet, however, at least he was not alone and was with people who were prepared to do whatever was necessary to try and save him. It is a gift that you were able to spend 17 years with your dog when so many pass away when they are much younger. It is unfortunate that our pets, who love us unconditionally, are only with us for a brief time. I am saddened by your loss and hope that time will heal your wounded heart. Pros: null Cons: null more

This place is fantastic! I have 3 dogs and a few other little creatures and can always find what I need here! The grooming is amazing. The haircuts are always very well done and my dogs are always squeaky clean. They come out looking brand new! We have tried the doggie daycare aswell which is a blessing. My youngest goes for the day, plays, and comes home sleepy. The prices are reasonable and the staff is very helpful. I won't shop anywhere else! They are awesome! I highly recommend all of their services! more
