A copy of the letter I sent to this company today (1/26/2012):\r
\r
I purchased a refrigerator within the past thirty days and the water dispenser has not worked since installation (it leaks) which is documented via email on the day after I picked up the unit. While the warranty does not apply on two counts (out of area and it concerns a water dispenser), the bill of sale indicates that the ice maker and water dispenser both work. Clearly the water dispenser does not. I simply want to receive what I agreed to pay for and the seller does not appear intent on delivering. The unit was not damaged or mishandled in any way in transit. I sought to remedy the solution many times by following suggestions on the phone and then trying to schedule service. Neither has proved productive (ie your REFUSE to come service your defective merchandise).\r
\r
\r
The way I see it there are three solutions that I sought legal counsel/support on:\r
\r
\r
\r
1. The unit is serviced/repaired in home \r
\r
2. I return the unit for a full cash refund.\r
\r
3. We enter into costly (in time and $) legal contention and remedy\r
\r
\r
\r
I clearly donâ??t want to have any issues and have tried to be very constructive and helpful in finding a solution. I simply want to receive what I agreed to pay for. Please let me know which of the above options you would like to pursue in the next 3 business days and we will proceed. If I have not heard from you in that time, I will assume you prefer the third option listed.\r

If I do not get a viable remedy, I will not only be pursuing things legally, I will also be contacting the local media in an effort to insure people are aware of how this company chooses to conduct business. This is the first and ONLY time I have ever complained about the service I have received at a local business (I am reluctant to even say a word when a restaurant gets my order incorrectly), but this company acted as though I was at fault for THEIR product THEY certified not working properly. \r
\r
Consumers should be made aware of who and what they are dealing with. I am very likely to spend more time and money in forcing this company to make things right than it would cost to have the item fixed (they'll spend more money to contest and STILL have to fix or refund it than if they had simply done the honorable thing up front), but at this point, it is the principal of the matter. This is NOT how you should do business. It is a shame because I like to support local and small business.\r
\r
Clearly, I recommend you avoid this company at all cost!\r
\r
We will see what happens...\r
