Not a good way to run a business 3/6/2008

I ordered my bridesmaids dresses last year - they said 10-14 weeks.. it's been way over that and I haven't heard one single word from Brennan's. I live out of state so there is no way for me to be able to contact the shop - fortunately some of you can go into the shop and resolve your issues - I'm not so lucky. I finally got ahold of the manufacturer who told me the dresses have been ready to ship weeks ago but have not received payment from Brennan's. They said I was one of many girls going through the same situation and that they were cutting all ties with the shop. I'm glad some of you have gotten what you ordered but there are a ton of us that have not so quit defending a shop that isn't doing the job that they were paid to do. I paid for the dresses in FULL and have no dresses. Bottom line. Cons: Horrible service, no communication, take your money and deliver no goods more

Friendly and helpful 3/5/2008

I was in Brennan's last Saturday to inquire on an order for my bridesmaids. I had previously spoke with the designer who informed me my order was in transit and there were no problems with the account. When I explained that I was a concerned customer, the vendor told me they knew nothing of the problem which makes me feel so much better. While I was in the store Saturday the two girls at the counter gave me a tracking number and assurred me I was in good hands. I think alot of upset people have fueled the fire to make a whole lot of unhapy people. I feel like the Brennan's staff will do their best to appease everyone as quickly as they can and ya know what, I would keep the phone disconnected too if I had people yelling every day! Some of those brides in line were scarey! I don't think anyone will get their way any quicker being rude. Brennan's has taken a downfall, but hopefully everything will turn out fine. The store has been around forever and things have to get bad before they can get good:-) Hopefully this is a little reassuring to you other brides out there! more

I need help finding my dress!!! 3/2/2008

Well thank god my wedding was a year ago..... when I went in and did all my stuff with the wedding dress, everything was fine... but here it is a year later almost, and I had my dress preserved so it would stay in good condition and I have tried calling up there and the phone number is no longer in use but I really need to get my dress back If any body has any information to help me get in contact with someone please let me know e-mail me I just think this is all a big mess and they need to figure it out soon good luck to all the brides going through this..l... Sorry for all of those writing good reviews. I'm sorry because you can't symphathize with all of us thare ARE having problems. The webpage and owner email is still down, as well as the phone lines. Granted, its nice to order in advance, sure glad I did as my wedding gown was 4 months late. And my bridesmaids are 3 months late now. I am gettin gmarried in less than 7weeks.....and you stand up for a store like this. ""Nice Ashley"" is in with the lies. Poor girl always agrees with Cheryl, the mananger. Getting your gown and dresses, tuxes should not have to be this stressful. And if they are so great, why are top of the line vendors like Maggie Sottero canceling their contracts with them?!?!?!? She was very helpful and always let my bride and I know if there were any delays with any of our orders. In light of recent events, I think some customers are overreacting over nothing. NOTHING BUT LIES AND MORE LIES! 2/20/2008

To the previous review about lies being told concerning the service of Brennans Bridal, apparently we are doing the same thing to you that you have been doing to hundreds of brides!! One tip don't lie to distraught brides. Tell them the truth!!! Such as we have not actually ordered your dress, that we have promised to be in for months, or we have taken your money to pay our other debts that we have, such as our unpaid rent, unpaid phone bill and unpaid vendors, or that we are secretly trying to close our store because we only have one employee still working for us. I sure would love to hear the truth instead of lie after lie. Tell us the truth about our orders and money and we wont have to be BRIDEZILLAS!!!!!! Pros: CANT THINK OF ANY! It started out well... 2/20/2008

I ordered my bridesmaid dresses from Brennan's back in October last year. The lady was very helpful on email and by phone and made sure my order was correct especially as I was converting UK to US sizes.\r When I hadn't received the dresses or any communication after the 12 - 16 week time frame, I tried to call them. It took me 2 weeks to get through to them - constantly getting their answer phone.\r \r As the reviews here say, the website, email and phone systems are down. I have now contacted my Visa company to cancel the order and they are going to follow up directly. I've placed the order again with netbride and they are cheaper and already far more efficient. I can only hope the dresses arrive in time :( \r \r Thankfully I have time to sort this mess Brennan's have created but trying to deal with this nightmare from the UK has added an extra complexity and one any bride just doesn't need! Thanks to everyone's reviews that helped me come to a decision quicker about cancellation! \r \r Glad to hear they have gone out of business so that no one else has to go through this but hope everyone has time to find alternatives if they have already ordered! more

No problems 2/20/2008

I used Brennan's for my wedding dress and for my bridal party. I received constant communication about my dress and when it would be in. All information was accurate and the dress arrived on time. The employees were friendly and helped me out a great deal when I was in the store. I am sorry to hear of all the trouble others are having and hope things can be resolved in time for your weddings/events. \r My dress is beautiful, was reasonably priced and the staff worked with me to make sure everything went as scheduled. Closed down and took everyone's money with them! 2/19/2008

I am a bridesmaid for one of my friends. I just received a call from her letting me know that today she found out that Brennan's Bridal went out of business today. I went with her to get fitted and order her bridesmaid dresses....she had already ordered her wedding dress through them. She had paid the deposit for her dress and the deposit for our dresses. Her wedding is in a month and a half, and they told her that her wedding dress would be in by now, and the bridesmaid dresses would be in within the next couple of weeks, so that there would be adequate time for alterations. Well, her parents saw on the news today that Brennan's went out of business. No one from the company let her or anyone else know about this. She gave quite a bit of money for her dresses to them and THEY NEVER ORDERED THE DRESSES AND THEY JUST TOOK HER MONEY! They also screwed over and robbed quite a bit of people and there will most likely be a class action suit against them in the near future....Hopefully!! Cons: ROBBERS, OUT OF BUSINESS, RUDE more

Crossing My Fingers 2/19/2008

I just called Brennan's Bridal to follow up on when I will receive my bridesmaids' dresses and I got a disconnection message. I have written emails and haven't received any replies. I live in Illinois so there is absolutely no way I can just pop into the store. I ordered my dresses in November and still haven't received them. I called about 2 weeks ago and talked to someone there who said she expected to get them in 2 weeks ago. I haven't gotten them and now I can't get ahold of anyone. Reading recent positive reviews makes me feel a little better so I'll be crossing my fingers, hoping, and praying the the dresses show up. If anyone from Brennan's is reading this, please check your email. Pros: low prices Cons: Hard to reach more

Would not send my worst enemy here 2/17/2008

This store is full of employees that are not only incompetent, but they clearly are not concerned about customer service at all. First, I ordered my bridesmaid shoes from them, which finally showed up 2 months late, then after they told me the shoe dying service was free they charged me $28 per pair. Next, my shoes were ordered from them. After they were a little late, I started calling once a week to inquire. Every time their phone was either disconnected, no one answered and all voicemail boxes were full, or someone would take my name and number and say they would call me back, which NEVER actually happened. The few times I did speak with someone they would tell me that they had called the manufacturer and the shoes would be there next week....I was told this every week for 2 months. Finally, we went in the store and had them call and put it on speaker phone. It was obvious they had never spoken with the company and was told they had signed for the shoes 6 weeks ago and couldn't get another pair. I had to go buy shoes elsewhere. The biggest problem I had was with bridesmaid dresses. They never showed up, and after months of going to the store (since that is the only way to talk to anyone) I discovered that there was an issue between Brennan's and the manufacturer (I'm assuming not paying their bill) and the dresses had been sitting in the warehouse for 3 months but they would not ship them until the problem was resolved. The owners of Brennan's Bridal made no effort to resolve the problem and have my dresses shipped, so I was forced to go online at J Crew and have 4 new dresses overnighted to me. Don't be drawn in by the low prices. Low prices don't mean much when they don't ever deliver the goods that they promise. The most upsetting part is that if we had not gone out of our way to visit the store every day and stay on their case they never would have told us the dresses weren't coming. It's the worst run business I have ever seen. Pros: None. Cons: Horrible customer service, deceitful, don't deliver merchandise. more

BRIDES TO BE DO NOT GO TO BRENNANS 2/13/2008

Brennans Bridal is the most unorganized business that I have ever encountered. I am a few days away from my wedding and their phone lines are disconnected and they NEVER return your calls or answer their phone. For all I know the place has shut down or gone bankrupt- its obvious they cannot pay their phone bill so Im in a panic trying to find somewhere to get tux's for all of my groomsmen in 3 days. \r PS dont expect to get your wedding gown on time. \r ****My advice to other Bride's to be- this is the most exciting day of your life, it is stressful, go somewhere that makes it less stressful and somewhere that is organized and together. Makes Root Canals Seem Fun!!! 2/5/2008

When I finally got into the store (being one that was let in one at a time by the cops) I calmly asked for my dress and as one salesperson brought it out the other simply said ""I told you it gets crazy around here"" referencing the 40+ brides hopefully waiting in the 30 degree weather for their back-ordered dresses with no guarantee their dress would be their for their wedding. I paid the rest of the deposit and as I was leaving the alterationist said ""If you need any alterations done just give us a call!"" I was about to turn around and say, ""How? When no one picks up the phone, is here during business hours, and your dress never comes in? There is no way in h*ll I am ever letting you get your hand on my dress. You can try to pry it from my cold, dead fingers!"" Unfortunately, the three cops who had briefed us on not taking our frustration out on the salesperson were waiting for my to exit to let the next worried bride in. But OOOHHHH, I was so close to going home in handcuffs!! Cons: rude, lying, can't-be bothered-they-ruined-you-wedding salespeople more

customer service 1/21/2008

I faxed an order to Brennan's Bridal and I had to email requesting confirmation that my order was received and placed. It's been 18 weeks and I haven't heard a thing from them. I tried calling their number (336) 659-1233, but it was temporarily disconnected. I called again but couldn't leave a message - their inbox was full. I've called yet again and spoke to someone. They plan to make a call and check on my order. They said it could be up to three days before they will be able to tell me more about my order. Their prices are awesome but their communication skills for email/fax orders isn't the best. If you do order through them in one of these two ways, place your order early and expect to make contact with them yourself, several times. more
