I love Bound'ry. It's one of my ""go to"" places in Nashville. The bar upstairs is fantastic in good weather. It's also the only place that allows smoking inside (which may be a n...

I've been to the Bound'ry on several occasions. I find that the service and attitude of the waitresses depends on how they percieve you. If you are neatly dressed, they are real...

Amazing! 5/25/2007

I can not begin to explain how amazing our dinning experience was last night. It started with the smiling incredibly gracious hostess who told us about her favorites on the special sheet that evening. From there we were greeted by the most astonishing waitress I have ever seen. See walked us through the menu giving the history of the sauces and exotic spices. With every dish she had a spot on wine and beer recommendation. She was entertaining and ninja like when see needed to be. Just when you thought you need to order a cocktail you would look down and out of no where there it was waiting for you. If you are a cork dork or a beer nerd you will love this place. The Palm and Mortons would be envious of the steaks on our table. Every appetiser, salad, entree, and dressert was fabulous. The attention to detail was phenomenal. more

Tax write-off??? 4/25/2007

I certainly hope this place which expounds to ""have no boundries save the flavors across the earth,"" is down with the space race. It would take them less time to franchise on Mars then it did to get food and drinks to the table. Man the service is Bad! I mean, beyond not knowing who our server was, they all seemed flustered and overwelmed. This is not the fault of the server, they were nice. It just looked like they did'nt have a chance based on what I saw of how the place worked. Pros: unique dining room Cons: chaotic hospitality more

I had heard good things about this place. WRONG! My party and I felt like we were on ""Candid Camera."" Pros: There is some close seating to the exit Cons: free dessert more

Proles on Parade 2/9/2007

While there are a few cosmopolitan restaurant-bars in Nashville, this definitely is not one of them. Poorly trained wait-staff seems to be the norm as they are unfamiliar with out-of-state licenses, and are also unfamiliar with common bar liquor brands. Put that together with a self-entitled me-first waitress attitude adds up to a distinctly provincial environment. Pros: it's near other bars Cons: wait staff, level of service, atmosphere more

romantic setting, see-and-be-seen with a pricy menu. 1/30/2007

The Bound'ry is the see-and-be-seen for the hillsboro/music row crowd. Spacious bar is nice for meeting friends for drinks and some thin crust pizza. on the weekend, service can be a tad slow because its so popular. the resturant is romatic with low lights, but be prepaired to shell out the cash. fun everyonce in a while, but as a regular spot, it can drain the bank. Pros: great food, excellent drinks and bar staff Cons: high priced and a bit stuffy at times more

Still a good place, great service but slippping 1/6/2007

Last night was my third trip in as 2 years to Boundr'y and I was really looking forward to going. I had a slightly better than average experience last time but was disappointed that it was not as good as the first. I figured it was an off night or whatever and was hoping to get redemption this time through. The food was still good, the Salmon was nice, the filet close to perfect , however the duck was a little overdone and the calamari was slightly tough. Apparently, they ran out of the novelty cone bread as we received the metal spiral with two bread sticks and cheese bread sans cone. The wine list was still strong with a great representation from the major regions around the world. The ambience was still there, the fire, the balcony and warm colors really make you feel comfortable. more

Decent 11/23/2006

I've been to the Bound'ry once and I had heard a lot about it. It is a nice place, however, the seating, at least the non-smoking area seems limited. The hostess seated us right next the the fire exit door and it just felt weird. We were up against the wall, with a slight draft by us. There didn't seem to be a lot of options with the way they had it set up upstairs. They do bring you a great variety of breads served in these neat cone-shaped things. The food was also really good. I had the filet, and I must say, it was pretty perfect. I would recommend the food, just wish the seating was better. Pros: Great food Cons: Poor Seating more

Great scene, friendly, opinionated, and witty staff 7/20/2006

I was completely in the mood for tapas. I was meeting clients there, was looking forward to the great tapas on the menu. Julia, bartender, convinced me that I must get the double pork chop. It is the only thing she eats there, blah blah blah..... so after 10 minutes of arm twisting, I ordered the chop. No regrets at all. Smoked, grilled, well seasoned, well cooked, with a rosemary, honey, tamarind glazed sauce, applesauce and mac & cheese as sides, this dish will keep me as a customer when I am in town. Thank you Julia, and Bound'ry for making it a good night for me. Pros: Great staff and scene. Cons: Cigarette Smoke. more

Tasty Tapas, Cool Atmosphere, Great Service 6/18/2006

When I visited Nashville for the 1st time last summer some girlfriends of mine (Nashville natives) brought me here. I got the duck for my entree and we had a lobster ravioli appetizer both of which were delicious. I just recently moved here and since my brother was visiting, I thought I'd make reservations for two (we both love good wine and good food). I had absolutely no problems making a 7:30 reservation on a Thursday night. Once again, the appetizers were delectable--we ordered both the scallops and the mussells--and the service was perfect. I was a tad dissappointed about my entree this time (I chose the lamb which I understand to be one of the favorites but mine was a little too done on the outside); nevertheless, this place has consistently impressed me and I plan on bringing my boyfriend here when he comes to visit. That's the thing--the atmosphere is perfect for a girls night out, brother-sister outing, or a romantic dinner for two. Oh and as for parking--I recommend the valet. Pros: Great appetizers, service, drinks more

The Boundr'y Clearly has Borders 5/22/2006

If I'm ever in need of a drink and am on the outskirts of Hillsboro Village, yes, I'd stop in here. But go out of my way? I think not. Clearly a restaurant that continues to overrate itself by not accepting meaningful reservations i.e. past 6:30, doesn't want to cater to people who value their time. Would I want to take a party of 4 there? No. I don't find the old school appeal of waiting in the bar filling up on alcohol that way to manage a restaurant these days. Wake up. There's too much competition in Nashville! more

Excepitonal service 5/11/2006

Being a late diner, there are only a few places I would recomend. Bound'ry is our favorite. The food is always good even if you are not real hungry and want something small. The service is completly on time every time. The staff has always greeted us with a smile and left us with one too. Pros: Relaxing, Prompt service, good food Cons: Parking, lighting more

Not anymore... 2/13/2006

The Boundry USED to be the place of choice for many fun nights out, romantic dinners, and restaurant of choice for out of town guests...not anymore. I hadnt been to the boundry in several months & heard it was very good anymore. I loved the Boundry and couldnt possibly have believed such things. HOwever, on Valentines day I had the worst meal I could have possibly imagined. Longhorn steakhouse would have been better. Our steaks were burned outside and medium-rare ish on the inside. The meat was tough and flavorless (except for the charcoal taste). The presentation was equivalent to that of Shoneys. I have had the same dish many times and the presentation quality dropped to the point that the mushroom topping was served in a plastic ramican. The calamari was tough and coo. I left hungry. The service was still good and so was the cone o' bread. Pros: service Cons: food quality, value, food taste more

The Bound'ry is our favorite place to eat 12/30/2005

This place is perfect for mid-30's to 40's+ couples and their friends, groups of 2 to 8 will have a great time with great food, the wine and beer lists are long and distinguished, the english meade is a must have dessert drink. The pricing is appropriate for the quality of food and service and the atmosphere is comfortable business casual. A great place to relax with good wine and great food. I have a long list of foods I do not like and I can order there carefree because even if it has ingredients I would not normally eat I know the taste will be beyond superb. My compliments to the chef!! Pros: superb food, fast friendly service, extensive drink menus Cons: parking more

User review by brussell 7/5/2005

I have eaten at this place several times always thinking, ""this time it will be better,"" but never again. The decor is dated and tired. The food is very over priced for the quality and presentation. I am bewildered that people think this is actually great cuisine. more

highs and lows 5/5/2005

Loved the decor but the ambience was really hurt by poor choice of music. They try too hard to be ""trendy New York."" Pulsing techno may be fine for the bar but the dining area would benfit greatly from more subtle orchestral based background music. Maybe something Italian? The food is generally tasty although overpriced and often too rich. The wine and drinks, even by restaurant standards, are WAY overpriced. Pros: decor, food, bar Cons: overpriced, music more

Cigars 1/10/2005

We were celebrating a promotion and make reservations for a non-smoking table. We were promptly seated, good service, good drinks and then someone lit a cigar in the bar and the ventilation was so poor that we had no desire to continue our meal. Half way thru the meal we got boxes and took it home. Food/Service/Drinks excellent!.... but poor ventilation ruined the experience. Love the Bound'ry but I won't return if I can't enjoy my meal without cigar smoke more

Awesome place! 1/6/2005

Congrats Nashville-- Boundry is one of my favorite restaurants in the entire world! Friendly service and a cool, fun vibe make this a great place for drinks, appetizers or a full dinner. The bread plate and the pizzas are especially good. On top of that, it's amazing value! Pros: Atmospheric, Fun, Huge menu more

Never a bad meal 7/23/2004

The Boundr'y has been around for years and is still one of my favorite restaurants in Nashville. I have never eaten anything there that didn't taste wonderful. The flavors combine to make their dishes blend perfectly together. It is like a symphony in your mouth. Each part of the restaurant seems to have a different ambiance - from romantic to relaxed. The prices are reasonable, especially if you make your meal from their ""Tastings"" menu - which I highly recommend. Pros: amazing flavors, great atmosphere, extensive menu Cons: , parking (use valet), expensive drinks more

#1 in Nashville 7/19/2004

Boundry is my favorite restaurant in Nashville. Its menu is vast and exotic and I enjoy taking my out of town guests there to experience new things. The wait staff makes the experience because they are well trained and knowledgeable about the menu and wine. My last experience there was a perfect example of the quality you can expect at Boundry. I let my server suggest an appetizer (Lobster Fondue), a nice summer salad, and the best Tuna Entree I have ever tasted. He also suggested a perfect wine that impressed my guests and took the pressure off me. Overall the food is great, the selection is vast, the wait staff is professional, and the ambiance is striking. Pros: 300+ bottles of wine, 200+ kinds of beer, Huge menu Cons: , No Frozen Drinks more

Not worth it 7/9/2004

Very disappointing. The waiter was terrible, making our party yell across the table for anything instead of walking around and taking orders. We ordered appetizers, and for $10 you get 3 scallops. Yes that's 3 small scallops. Others were similar. The trout was supposed to be some sort of Italian sausage encrusted piece of fish, but was instead a tiny overcooked chunk of fish with bacon bits or something very similar on top. All in all I wouldn't give $5 bucks for this meal that just cost us over $200. If you want a decent meal and a nice evening, go somewhere else. Pros: decoration, beer menu Cons: , food isn't that great, waaay overpriced more
