I love Bound'ry. It's one of my ""go to"" places in Nashville. The bar upstairs is fantastic in good weather. It's also the only place that allows smoking inside (which may be a n...

good food...and that's it 6/20/2004

I read many Citysearch reviews before going to Bound'ry. I was disapointed by the experience. To start off, the hostess station is situated right insde, by the doors, making it impossible for more than 4 people to wait comfortably. The place itself is quite small and very crowded. The mirrors on the walls make the place feel larger than it actually is. Our waiter was alright until he found out that we were not interested in drinking wine. After he took our orders, he didn't return to check back on us until after we paid. That felt really disappointing. At lesser restaurants the waiters come to the table 2-3 times during the dinner to see if everything is alright. The food was very good. I would not go there again, because I expect a better service, better ambience, and an overall better impression. Pros: Food, Wine list Cons: , Price, Ambience more

Never Miss 3/25/2004

The Bound'ry is always a top notch experience. The food is deverse, imaginative, flawless, and masterfully presented. The bread basket is outstanding! You can rest assured no matter what you choose it will always be great. I have been going to the Bound'ry for years and have never been disappointed. Yes, sometimes the wait staff can be a bit patronizing, but who cares that can happen anywhere. Have a flight of wine, ignore the snobby little punk, and enjoy remarkable food, engaging conversation, and incomparable atmosphere. Pros: great food, great atmosphere more

Awful Service 7/4/2003

I have been to the Bound'ry on three different occassions. On all three occassions, I have felt that the food was ridiculously expensive for what it was AND that the service was horrible. After my last simply atrocious time there, I decided to never return. There are plenty of better restaurants in Nashville - especially in the midtown area. And you won't have to deal with super snooty people at many of the other nice restaurants. Pros: Cool decor, Interesting dishes Cons: Super expensive, Horrible service, Pompous diners more

Best to sit in the bar 6/4/2003

I go to Bound'ry at least once a week and have never had a good experience in the restaurant. However, the service in the bar more than makes up for it. The guys always take great care of me and whomever I bring along. I get prompt food and beverage service, they always have what I want to drink, and the guys make sure I'm having a great time (plus they get rid of the scary middle-aged men for me). My advice - sit at the bar, order a pizza and your favorite drink, and enjoy the atmosphere - you're sure to have a great night. Pros: Bartenders, pizzas, drink selection Cons: unattentive waitress, always crowded, Hostesses (horrible) more

Enjoyable Evenings 5/3/2003

Main courses seem to be on the small side, but dishes were prepared extremely well. Bar was top notch, as well. Nice atmosphere. Recommend dining outside, weather permitting. It was very enjoyable. Will impress the person you bring with you. Pros: very tasteful, impressive cuisine, excellent service Cons: small portions more

Fav Hangout! 4/28/2003

Bound'ry (like Zola's) has TERRIFIC food & drinks. I have never been disappointed here. (The bread sampler you get to begin with is out of this world!) This place is always happening - lots going on, lots of pretty people to look at, and all around FUN! The terrace is nice on warm nights... (The bar can be a little crazy, but it's always busy - and a good place to hang out - nab a seat quick though!) Pros: Great food/drinks, Fun ambiance, Terrace seating avail Cons: Slow service, can be very loud, Make reservations!! more

I can make pretty food, too. 4/16/2003

So what are you looking for in a fine dining experience? Atmosphere, fantastic cuisine, great service, beautiful fellow diners? Well, if you picked number one or number four, go to Bound'ry. If you wanted the other two, rethink your plans and try again. The menu seems interesting, however the food itself is rather bland and unexciting once it comes out. Of course it looks pretty; they must have hired art students to prep their food and make a couple of bucks, but if in your dining experience the actual gastronomical aspect is important, there are many other good restraunts in Nashville. Pros: Pretty People, Pretty Food, Pretty Decor Cons: bland food, slow service more

Not the same anymore 4/6/2003

The Bound'ry used to be one of my favorite places to eat in Nashville until last night. I went out to dinner with 3 of my close friends and we were greatly looking forward to the experience. We were greated in a good way and given a nice table, but this is where the good ends. The appitizer was brought before the wine was poured and then the salad was served right afterwards almost immediately by the food. The waitor apologized 1/2 way and took the food back and then brought it back to us only to be cold. They did provide us free dessert for our troubles. However, the bottom line is that they were snooty about everything and just did not have it together. I would not recommend anyone eating at the Bound'ry anytime soon. Pros: Food Cons: Service, Attitude of staff, n more

Don't go in jeans. 3/4/2003

I've been to the Bound'ry on several occasions. I find that the service and attitude of the waitresses depends on how they percieve you. If you are neatly dressed, they are realitively (although not overwhelmingly) attentive. Come in jeans and a T-shirt however and you will get the cold shoulder and a bad attitude every time. If there is a dress code, it needs to be made known to the patrons. I don't have any time for a place where the staff treats customers with disrespect based on their perception of their social standing. Pros: Good Food, Nice Atmosphere Cons: Disrespectful Staff more

Nightmare on 20th Ave. S. 2/11/2003

Extremely overrated. The worst dining experience that I've ever had in my life (44 yrs). Perhaps the Bound'ry should put the word ""Joke"" in front of their name. My wife and I, and a couple of friends, had the misfortune of visiting the Bound'ry a few weeks ago. It was freezing inside the restaurant, unless you happen to get one of the few tables by the fireplace. We were seated at a table that was so cramped for room that we could hardly get in our chairs(all four of us are skinny people). The food was very marginal at best and was also served in surprisingly very small portions. I spent $94.00 and felt like I had just eaten at McDonald's. I tried F. Scott's in Green Hills the weekend before and it was fantastic. Don't waste your time and money on the ""Joke"" Bound'ry. more

Boundry has it ALL! 1/24/2003

Looking for ambience in a ""Friend's"" sort of way?? Here it is! The Boundry is trendy and popular for it's consistent outstanding service, extraordinary cuisine at reasonable prices, out of this world pizza, tv's for the sports enthusiasts but don't expect to hear the score because of the cool music playing over the many speakers to get the party going! Definitely a place to be seen and see regulars regularly. Did I mention the artwork is built in to the drywall?? The Boundry is a ""must-see scene!!!"" Pros: free valet parking more

They are the bomb 1/18/2003

We love th Bound'ry. We were engaged there last year and we are having our reception there on January 18th. Great bartenders! more

Bad start to 2003--I had the... 1/1/2003

worst dining experience ever on New Year's Eve. My date and I waited 1.5 hours after our 9:30 reservation, and the hostesses weren't the least bit apologetic. We were seated upstairs where other patrons crowded and bumped into us while in the aisle drinking/smoking/talking. The adjacent table even had their drinks spilled--twice! It was quite unromantic, given the pounding music. The food was sub-par. They were serving a 5-course pre-fixed menu, but we only received 4 courses. My ""medium"" steak was practically mooing, and I would have gotten better macaroni at Luby's. The brie potatoes were good; however, I only received about a tablespoon. My date's lobster was tough, and his risotto, undercooked. Our waiter was so-so, but fairly absent. To top the night off, we saw the manager strolling through the restaurant- beer in hand- cutting off waiters and patrons. Simply horrible. I should have stayed at home. Pros: good people watching, extensive wine list, implants everywhere Cons: long wait/poor servic, sketchy old men, medicore food more

No Boundr'y's 12/6/2002

If you want a good glass of wine, go to the Boundr'y (they have a wonderful selection). If you want an even better glass, or bottle, of beer this is definately the place to go! They have a huge selection of beers from around the world. The food is wonderful and the menu is fairly priced. Pros: valet parking, great atmosphere more

best food in nashville 12/5/2002

Go...you will not be disappointed. The best food prepared in ways that will blow your mind. Pros: food, ambience, food more

Great 11/15/2002

Great for after work cocktails and meeting ladies late at night more

Crowded jurassic park 11/7/2002

Sorry. This place has it's perks, for instance the al fresco bar and wonderful food, great mixed drinks..etc. However, It's rare that you will find a seat in the bar so be prepared to stand. And if you're a lady looking for a gent, I hope you like the older, cigar smoking type. So for dinner, yes. To look for a mate, no. Pros: Great Food, good location Cons: Crowded, Expensive more

Nearly hooked 11/6/2002

Enjoyed the food. The service was OK - definitely not as great as I had heard. Then I went to the bar - where a ""lady of the night"" propositioned me!!! Not exactly what I expected, but from what a number of my single friends have told me, the bar is one of these ""women of the night's"" hangouts. Pros: menu, flights of wine, flights of beer Cons: "lady" at the bar, service was lacking more

Romantic and delicious 11/1/2002

One of the prettiest restaurants we've been too thus far in Nashville. There are no bad tables that we saw. We were seated right by the fireplace. The decor and colors are very beautiful and vibrant. Not to mention the food is delicious. We have tried many of their tapas, appetizers, and we haven't been disappointed. Don't fill up before the main dish. There is a huge menu that offers many different tastes and it doesn't disappoint. The desserts are wonderful. Try the chocolate ooze! more
