I've been to the Bound'ry on several occasions. I find that the service and attitude of the waitresses depends on how they percieve you. If you are neatly dressed, they are real...

Eh and Blah 5/16/2010

They did not have my reservation that I made by phone. Luckily, the restaurant was pretty empty as it was early. We were sat right by another couple. They were having appetizers. After we ordered, we received bread and butter. The neighboring couple seemed to take notice and later some bread was brought out to them. Guess they forgot to give them some! I had the tuna and the lobster relish and crab cheesecake were very good, but the tuna itself had no flavor and the tomato sauce with it was weird. Tasted more tomato basil to me with seared tuna is weird to me. My husband got the pork chop- very good, but instead of truffled mac and cheese, he got mashed potatoes. He didn't say anything, much to my dismay, I wanted to try them! Oh, and a piece of his pork was undercooked. My tuna was hit and miss- some were seared perfectly, some too much. I just expect more when I am paying $30 for this plate. Maybe it seems silly, but I like going places were they seem to appreciate your business and say goodbye and thank you and not act like you are in their way. They were prepping for a large party near us and we walked right past our server and he didn't even look at us. The hostess just watched us leave as well- nothing said at all. All in all it was an OK meal, but I have no desire to return at all- I like going places where they seem to care that you are there. Pros: Crab cheesecake Cons: Blah more

Better for Boo's than eats 12/9/2009

The food is pretty good for the price. But What I adore most about this place is the ambience. I love the upstairs bar! It's amazing in the summertime when they open it up. It's a very social place to gather. I love the martini's. Pros: Best Martini's in Nashville Cons: Parking more

One of My Favorites . . . 7/29/2009

I love Bound'ry. It's one of my ""go to"" places in Nashville. The bar upstairs is fantastic in good weather. It's also the only place that allows smoking inside (which may be a negative for some), but it's a ""treehouse"" atmosphere. Downstairs is great, too. It's non-smoking and also has open windows in good weather. The bar has an inset of ice to keep cocktails cool. They sell cigars also. The food is good and they have a late-night menu as well. It's a lovely spot to finish your evening or to start it. I'll be seeing you soon! Pros: good drinks, great atmosphere Cons: n/a more

the bound'ry is everything and more... 12/19/2008

my company recently had our holiday party in the phoenix room at the bound'ry and it was great. the food was AMAZING!!! and the service was top notch. the staff was very attentive and got us everything we needed. it was the best holiday party we have ever had and hopefully we will have it here again next year. more

Overpriced, poor service, inept management!! 12/13/2008

I recently attended bound'ry for a private event. The set up was great and we thought we were really in for a great time. It started going downhill almost immediately, however. The servers repeatedly ignored us, denying us the most simple requests like water, a black napkin, or steak knives for our fillets! It got to be so bad that I felt the need to say something to the manager, who was unapologetic and rude. We were astonished that a supposedly nice restaurant could provide such disrespectful and inattentive service. Furthermore, the creme brulee that I ordered for dessert was not even ""brullee"" and was more of a fruit custard and not good. I, needless to say, will not go back to Bound'ry and wish we had picked somewhere else to have our annual holiday dinner party. Pros: Leaving Cons: Price for quality, service, management, bar service more

Great food 10/22/2008

The boundry is one of those places that you recommend to your friends that come to visit from cities like NYC or LA, it is just that good. The food is wonderful, the phoenician is wonderful, the table bread and spreads are fabulous. The service is very good, we have never had a bad meal here and we have dined here about 15 times. Pros: Very good Cons: Busy on the weekends more

Good Food, Rude Staff 9/8/2008

New to Nashville, and everyone told me to check out the Bound'ry. Finally got to check it out two weeks ago. Made a reservation, but when we got there, had to wait. Ok with that. Had to sit at the crowded bar. Ok with that. Had to deal with a rude staff. Not ok with that. When we finaly got to sit down, we walked through an empty restaurant. Why did we have to wait for almost an hour when there were at least a handful of open tables? Girls at the front door were very rude. We tried to get our tab from the bar transferred, and the bartender was very reluctant, but finally did it. Food was good. Duck entree was almost worth the hassle. Salads were small and unimpressive. Dessert was weird and also unimpressive. Server seemed absent minded and not familiar with the wine list. Could have been a good experience if staff was better. Food covered menu was a huge turn off. Bad first impression. Pros: Good Wine and Beer List, Decent Entree Selection Cons: Hostess (doesn't seat you for long time), bartender(won't transfer tab), server(unattentive)=BAD STAFF more

Not the Bound'ry I fell in love with 6/19/2008

We have been going to Bound'ry for many years, and have been loyal patrons, however, this steady decline in service is absolutely unforgivable. I used to love coming here with my wife and daughter, but now I do not think that I will ever return. We ALWAYS call and make reservations....ALWAYS. We do this because we request a particular table, and in the past, the Bound'ry staff has always accomodated us. However, we were treated VERY rudely by the hostess, who said that there was absolutely no way that she could give us the table that we requested (which was empty when we got there). Don't you think that if someone requests a table BY NUMBER they may have been to your establishment once or twice and you should try to abide their wishes? We were seated and ordered our usual. Our server completely ignored us after we placed our order. When the food arrived at the table, everything was wrong. After grabbing another server to get our server to correct the error, it took forever to get the food that we had initially ordered, and it was not up to par. Our server was unapologetic and condescending. What happened to this place? It used to be so wonderful for any occasion, but now you can't even go have a decent meal there without there being some sort of mishap. Pros: Some people remember the way it used to be. Cons: The staff more

Awful Service 5/26/2008

I've never complained about a restaurant on here, but I felt I needed to this time. We went there on a Friday afternoon/evening for drinks and sat at the upstairs bar area. The waitress was terrible and she did not know the menu. We had to go to the bar to order because we rarely saw her. The drinks were overpriced and blah. We were to afraid to sit and wait for food that might resemble the drink and service. Very dissapointing. Pros: location Cons: service more

Fabulous food, Great service, Fun Atmosphere 4/18/2008

My husband and I have fallen in love with Bound'ry. Last weekend, we had a seafood theme. We had various tapas - tuna nori roll which was delicious; the Crabcake was perfectly done; calamari was wonderful and different; the shrimp and grits here are outstanding. They make excellent mojitos, and the beer selection is also great. If want an awesome night out, go to the Bound'ry. The owner came to our table and was very gracious. The service is always superior here. Don't waste your time going anywhere else! more

Perfect atmosphere for any occasion 3/19/2008

I have been to Bound'ry many times in the past few years, and everyone I bring loves this trendy hidden gem off of 20th & Grand. From the flickering lanterns outside to the warm, eclectic, multi-level interior, the attention to detail in the decor and the food is not to be missed. Both their tapas and entrees are great, and it has a fun, hip atmosphere that doesn't overwhelm with booming music or incredibly dim lighting. I'm in my twenties, but everyone I bring here, from my parents to my friends, love it. The food is great, and the waiters are fun and accomodating. I couldn't reccomend Bound'ry more for an enjoyable, fun meal to have on any night of the week in beautiful surroundings. Pros: Fun atmosphere, eclectic food Cons: Can be difficult to get a reservation, as it's so popular more

Great bar and Phenomenal restaurant 3/2/2008

I first visited Boundr'y's bar and loved the bartenders, atmosphere, and variety of beer and exotic drinks. I went back for dinner last night. There menu is extensive and we all loved that you get the choice of tapas or tasting portions with appetizers and tasting or entrees portions with dinner options. You can mix and match sides with all entree options, which restaurants sometimes frown upon. It was a little bit chilly so we didn't eat out, but the outdoors dining looks like a lot of fun! I went with someone who is hard of hearing and it was impossible to have a conversation because of the noise volume in the restaurant (but it was a saturday night). I highly highly recommend Boundr'y and I cannot wait to go back!! Pros: Great variety and cool ambience Cons: accoustics more

Fantastic tapas, a few issues. 2/8/2008

My wife & I went to Bound'ry last weekend and had a great time. Service was mostly good, a little inattentive at times, and there were some seasoning issues on a few items. Pros: Great value, good food and drinks. Cons: Seasoning of the food, spotty service. more

Totally Surprised 12/12/2007

I ate at Boundary on Thursday night, I have been in town for about 2 months and stayed away from this place due to some of its reviews, but I must say I am not sure what people are writing about. is there another place called boundary and people confuse the 2? I walked in the door and there was a pleasant young lady greeting me, we had to wait about 15 minutes in the bar for a table, but that was ok because I was able so see the massive beer selection they have. My wife and I had a drink at the bar, and then sat at a table in what is probably one of the most eclectic dinning rooms I have ever been in. cool curtains, and neat lighting. My server said it was an apartment building at one time. We had muscles for an appetizer, and I even heard the table next to me comment on how great they smelled. I had the pork chop, and my wife had the tuna. I was pleased to see the pork chop was only cooked to medium, (I hate over cooked pork) and my wife?s tuna was a perfect rare. The desserts were cool too. They serve little bitty desserts for just a couple bucks a piece so that you can try different stuff. After dinner we were told there was a bar on the second floor, so we went up there for one more drink. The couches in that bar are a great touch. It cost me about $100 for the 2 of us including tip for the whole night. Pros: ambience, BEER, BEER, BEER, Server knowledge Cons: parking more

foul 8/11/2007

I beg you. Stay away from here. If I even help one person not go through, what I went through, my life will not be for naught. The service is soooooo bad, and when I say soooo, I mean it. Cold food, non-existent servers, over priced drinks. Yow. Marque de Sade eat you're heart out. Pros: bad Cons: worse more

oh my god 8/11/2007

I don't understand how such a place can stay in business. more

Wow. What happened? 6/7/2007

Ive been goint to the Boundry for years. Mostly apps and beers, from time to time, business dinners. Its always been one of my favorite places, engaging staff and excellent customer service. Ive been away from the area for a while, and when my son recently graduated high school, I suggested we do the old stand ~ by , The Boundry for dinner. What happend? Did Flyte take all the good waiters? My table was dirty, I had to request to order, and my waiter had a meltdown, so his poor overworked peer had to handle all the patio. The food order was wrong, and when it did arrive, it was tasteless. more

Wonderful experience 5/31/2007

A group of 15 of us came in after a meeting Sunday night and sat on the beautiful patio. We enjoyed a variety of different Tapas style appetizers as well as some of their specialty drinks. The entrees that followed were impeccable as well as the service. We will be back and will recommend Boundry to all our friends! more

Heaven on earth! 5/31/2007

The energy in the restaurant is electric. The aromas coming from the open air kitchen are devine. The mussels come out of the kitchen sizzling on a hot skillet creating aroma therapy for the hungry. The lamb was grilled to prefection. The trout prepared on a cedar plank in the wood burning oven was to die for. The desserts are prepared in smaller portions so you can try three or four and they are heavenly. Professional staff, extraordinary food and beautiful decor need I say more! more
