Bockman's Auto Care

Bockman's Auto Care services all four of our vehicles and they have for the last ten years. They've done everything from oil and light bulb changes to alternators to, more recently, timing belts. Customer service has always been very pleasant accommodating and we've always been happy with their work. more

I dont understand all of the positive reviews on this place. I give them an F. They had my car for 24 days!!! And to make it even worse, they did not initiate contact with me once in that time to keep me informed on the progress, or lack thereof. I made weekly calls, and every time was basically told to stop calling, we'll call you when its done. Terrible communication. I asked for a quote multiple times and NEVER GOT ONE. All I got was an outrageous bill that I couldnt afford. Once they day finally came to pickup my car, I arrived and had to wait 45 minutes after when they said it would be ready. I was late for work. I found out later that they had instead been working on a car that had come in earlier in the week. I guess even after 24 days I still wasnt a priority. To top it all off, I had a small cosmetic issue that I was told would be taken care of for free, as an act of goodwill, because they had kept my car for an entire month. I blew out a brake line on my truck and had it towed to this AAA recommended shop. I made the right choice; initially I just planned on going to Merlin. Sam kept in touch with me every step of the way as I had to leave town for the weekend. The cost for service wasn't even half of what I expected. Working in the hospitality industry I know what good customer service is all about; and Sam just blew me away with his effort that went above and beyond. \r \r Nobody ever expects a followup call from an auto repair shop or a thank you card following service. But Bockman's delivered on both. I will recommend this shop to everyone I know in Dekalb/Sycamore. A+++ more

This is the place you want to go if you're at all daunted by the thought of taking your car into a shop. All of the employees I encountered were friendly and very helpful. This company is a pleasure to work with. They are genuinely concerned with making sure their customers are satisfied. If you don't know anything about cars these guys will make sure you understand what's actually wrong with your car and what needs to happen in order to fix it. A top-notch establishment. more

I needed my tire fixed quickly and they also needed to be rotated. I also had been putting off having my son's car looked at. It had been acting up in multiple ways. My concern was safety and not spending a lot of money as it is very "used". So we took both cars in at the same time. They got me in and on my way quickly. They both fixed my tire and rotated them for less than a rotation would have cost me at a dealership! I had my two teenagers with me while I waited this morning and we all left with a smile. They are very friendly and fun at Bockman's. Later in the day I received a call about my son's car. They looked it over and listen to my request. They found some safety issues that I didn't know existed. They also gave me a no-pressure quote. I was very impressed at the level of service and attention that they gave me. They really listened. I had the information I needed to make an informative decision whether to cut my losses or invest the money in the car. I don' more

I do 99% of the work on my own cars, and am often asked who's the best in our area. While I know a few, I just sent my next door neighbor to Bockman's for a repair I noticed he needed and they took care of him like he was their best friend. Bockman's is definitely a shop that I feel I can recommend to others. In a place where many shops in the area make you feel like you're being taken advantage of, or charge you for every little thing, even to look at your car to see whats wrong, it was nice to do business with a group of people that seemed to really care about me and my situation. more

Bockmans has saved me car's life on several occasions....they are very knowledgable and personable. A+ service. Would recommend, and have recommended them to several of my associates. In fact, my car is in need of repair again...so I think I will call them now. more
