Nice outdoor dining. Waitresses were nice and kept the drinks coming. This is really a trendy "meatmarket" type of place with a lot of pretentious people. Overall an "OK' exper...

All good at Leschi 12/29/2010

We took the whole family to the Bluwater on Leschi on Christmas Day. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated and the food was delicious. The people at our table tried calamari, pizza, meatloaf, chicken tenders and fish & chips, and everything was great. And the only thing better than the view was the service! more

EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK!! 8/20/2010

Seriously, people. Cocktails, maybe. But if you care for your health, DO NOT ingest anything out of that kitchen. Trust me. See for yourself... go to the WA State Department of Health and "Search for King County restaurant inspection records". It's disgusting. more

Good Service, Horrible Food 2/17/2009

When we were brought up-stairs, the room was hazy with cooking smoke. We were seated next to the walk way and directly in front of the noisy kitchen. The ventilation system was broke so the door, direct to our table, was open the entire time making it was extremely drafty and cold. When we asked to move but told that was not possible. although there were six open tables during our visit. Our appetizer was forgotten and the Salmon was hardly cooked, when the waitress brought it back, it was again uncooked and the spinach that was to be sauteed was uncooked and dumped onto the plate. My fiance's chicken potpie was uncooked and still dough on the top and bottom. The server was nice and our meal was comped but it did not make up for the food. more

GREAT COCKTAILS! 1/14/2009

now i know what you're going to say- what kind of idiot orders mojitos in the dead of winter? well.... after flying home from our two week vacation in Miami, my boyfriend and I stopped into the BluWater on Lake Union. We had actually been heading to I love Sushi, but they were closed. When we sat at the bar the bartender was picking mint leaves, which is what started off our conversation. After explaining that we had just returned from our tropical vacation, the bartender challenged us that he could make a mojito just as fantastic as any we had tried... who doesn't accept a that kind of bet? i hate to admit it, BUT THE DRINKS WERE AWESOME!!! we ended up staying for some late night happy hour and a little Sportcenter, and had a great time with our new friend :) I hadn't been to Bluwater in over a year, but I'll be back now! Thanks to Matt, who made our first night back in rainy cold seattle a real treat. more

Seattle Classic 1/6/2009

This place is a classic. Hadn't been since i moved out of Seattle, but popped back in on the way home from boarding Baker while i was home for the holidays. Fun people, great strong cocktails, beautiful view at night of lake union and the city. Just like i remember it. wish it had been 80 degrees so i couldve used that huge deck! more

Favorite place on Lake Union! 12/29/2008

We love this place. My girlfriends and I come here once a week after work for happy hour or for dinner, and are always treated right. The servers are friendly and funny, which works perfectly here since is it a pretty casual spot. The huge deck out back with its own bar is the best place in the city for lunch during the summer, the people watching is almost as great as the actual view of Lake Union! Pros: great view, huge deck, good food Cons: parking can be a pain in the summer, gets crowded more

old restaurant 11/21/2008

My sister and I used to come here for happy hour but it changed and now there's no reason to go there. The menu doesn't have much and everything else seems like two dollars over priced. The food taste just fine but not worth paying for parking. Especially that downstairs is small and old. Cons: paying to park more

Great spot for summer nights 8/12/2008

My friends and I came in last Friday night and sat out on the patio and had really awesome experience. Our server was super friendly and helpful in picking tasty drinks for us. Everything about the night was great, food, drinks, service and the amazing view. Difinitely will be back to try out lunch on the weekends. Pros: The view and drinks more

Beyond Terrible 6/30/2008

Lake Union location--The server was slow, not the brightest bulb (putting things on our tab that we did not order), and generally lackluster. The food was worse, much worse. We ordered happy hour caprese (mozzarella wasn't very good, balsamic was mixed with something and the tomatoes weren't flavorful. We also got chips and guac. The chips weren't crunchy and the guac was nasty. Seriously, if you can mess up chips and guac you don't have much going for you. Then we ordered a chop chop salad which ended up being romaine, about 2 pieces of tomato, 3 squares of deli sliced cheese, and a tiny bit of cubed salami, all dressed with a very bland dressing. We woke up the next morning wondering how a place that serves such poor food stays busy. And it's not cheap. The only reason to go would be to enjoy the view and get some 2.50 beers during happy hour. Just don't order food or expect good service. more

Blu Slug Bistro 5/15/2008

Mojito served with a SLUG in it!! Yes a Slug .. is this the norm? They acted like this happens all the time. This is not the only complaint. Waitress got the order wrong twice .. first served appetizer late (during dinner) forgot about it. Served three out of four entrees because she didn't hear the fourth order. Guest from out of town blown away by service and topped off with a slug in Mojito. No worries the drink is on us and would you care for dessert? are you kidding me!!! I recommend JOEY'S next door for there Chocolate Soufle .. amazing. more

Consistenly good food & service 4/9/2008

I like the Blu Water Bistro because it is consistent for good food, good menu items, and servers who genuinely act like they want to be there. We go there for work lunches frequently, and the kitchen is also fast and accurate with larger groups. Also enjoy for dates and drinks with friends. Highly recommend to others. Pros: Consistently Good Cons: Can get crowded, minimal parking more

Perfect for Seattle Tourists 4/1/2008

Great location, perfect for first time visitors to Seattle. Huge bay windows offer spectacular views of the space needle, lake union, and the sunset behind Queen Anne hill. Solid menu - I had the crab-stuffed mahi mahi, blue cheese salad with walnuts, pears and onions and baked giant chocolate chip cookie with ice cream.... It was excellant! Service was average, but competant nonetheless. I'm definitely going back there when I am in Seattle. more

Great Place to Eat!! 12/18/2007

Best Mojito and desserts anywhere ... 12/12/2007

... but I DON't recomend trying them together! Great lunchtime spot, but save room at the end. The dessert menu is FABU! Highly recommend the tollhose cookie, never in a million years would I have ever guessed its so delicious. Its definitely worth the extra 10 minutes on the treadmill. Or for a little fun, roast some s'mores! And the mojitos?? The best I've had... try it...you'll like it! more

Worst service at a restaurant in 2 years of dining out! 5/17/2007

We sat at the BluWater Bistro in Kirkland for nearly 30 minutes -- no server, no bread and no drinks. When we finally got a chance to order drinks, one drink arrived warm (I guess the server had as hard a time getting to the drink as she did getting to us!). The second drink (a beer) never arrived. Notwithstanding the red flags, we decide to order food anyway (we're slow learners). We ordered fish and a medium rare steak. The fish was okay. The ?medium rare? steak? You guessed it -- well done! While we waited for our server to appear again so we could try to get the beer and get a replacement steak, we grew old. We then realized (old age leads to wisdom) that (1) there are starving people around the world and (2) we stood a (much) better chance of buying a winning, life-altering lottery ticket than seeing our server again. And so we ate the over-done steak with no beer (the beer never did arrive). After the meal was over for several minutes and we still couldn't locate our elusive server, we finally asked for the manager. We told him it was our first time there and explained our bad experiences. Rather than offering some sort of explanation or even an apology (maybe they were uncharacteristically understaffed that night, or that particular server had too many tables?), the manager had other thoughts (or lack thereof). His only response? "Would you like your leftover fish boxed?" Wow, a clever way to avoid repeat business -- ignore and insult the customer! This manager's swift and decisive action cinched our decision -- we will not go back. Way to go, Blu Water management! more

Just as great in the middle of winter as in the heat of summer! 1/9/2007

I always neglect Bluwater a little in the winter, usually its a place we all hang out in the summertime, out on that great big deck (best in seattle, NO question). But my sister and I hadn't seen each other in a while, and decided to meet there, down on Lake Union. I am used to seeing this place mid-July, wall to wall people, a real party atmosphere. On this cold January night the bar was ablout 3/4 full, same in the dining room. We started in the bar, where the bartender had us almost laughing off our stools in minutes, and then we moved into a big booth by the window. It was stormy and windy outside, rain coming down sideways, but it was just so warm and comfortable inside, with the fireplace going and the great music. Our dinner was fantasic, great steak and crab stuffed mahi, and our waitress would friendly, and knew a lot about the menu. I admit I've always been a fan of summers at the bluwater, but I think they've converted me into a winter fan as well! Pros: Wonderful view, great food, and just an overall fun place to hang out! Cons: Very crowded in the summer, not good for kids. more

meet market 10/31/2006

this place gets annoying with rude staff and people with attitudes...like they are cool becuase they have money--most of the guys are cheeseballs here--and are over the hill. this place could be cool if they changed up the clientele and vibe more

Always a sure thing! 10/23/2006

Great place to chill with your friends and family, eat delicious food and check out Seattle's finest. I love the atmosphere, the energy is super fun and I have never met a bartender there that didn't make us laugh-out loud. They are always accomodating of larger groups and during the winter it mellows out enough to take my parents for a nice meal by the water that doesn't cost my whole paycheck! Last week I went in for lunch and our server, Reyna was so sweet. She was pretty busy but made sure to take time with my co-worker who was asking a zillion questions (food allergies). I enjoy a place that doesn't take itself too seriously amongst all the other corporate places on the waterfront! An easy recommend. Pros: Service, Food, Atmosphere Cons: Cold on Patio w/o Heaters on...duh. more
