Nice outdoor dining. Waitresses were nice and kept the drinks coming. This is really a trendy "meatmarket" type of place with a lot of pretentious people. Overall an "OK' exper...

Good food...poor service 10/9/2005

food is excellent! Service was lacking...staff treats you as though you are a burden and the management is pathetic and rude. The view is great, ambience is warm and inviting, and the server was fast, but not a people person. Lunch is highly recommended. Will go back...maybe the server had a bad day. Pros: food Cons: owners, service more

BAD! 8/13/2005

VERY bad service!!! DO NOT GO HERE! The wait staff and the manager treat the customers like second class citizens. RUN!!! more

Nice Outdoor Dining-Great View of Docked Boats 5/16/2005

Will go back to Bluwater-Liked the outdoor dining scene-Service was very attentive and pleasant. Rum and Cokes were great, romantic lighting outdoors when the sun goes down, no waiting for two on a busy weekend night-that was a pleasant surprise! I had crab mac and cheese-good but not a thick, rich sauce- more of a light sauce and the roasted chicken dinner was good-the boston clam chowder was not a thick soup, but very tasty and made with bacon in it. Younger scene is prevailant and middle-age couples here and there. Overall, we will return for a good drink, smiling service and outdoor eating! Pros: Outdoor Dining, Great Mixed Drinks, Nice Waterfront View Cons: Pay to Park more

almost like vacation 5/10/2005

My buddies and I stopped into Bluwater after a 70 mile motorcycle ride, very hungry, very thirsty. We asked to sit at the outside bar, and the girl at the desk showed us the way. After pulling up some stools at the tiki like hut, we were able to turn around and check out the great water view, and all of seattle. Our bartender was fast, and funny too, a great combo if you ask me. Our food was perfect, big portions for little money. Loved everything about it. Its not Maui but it was pretty close. more

ready for the sun? 5/10/2005

love this joint, great place, had drinks there last week outside at the bar, felt like a great summer vacation, though it only lasted 3 hours. good food, great people watching, strong drinks....good lookin folks everywhere! more

Great Place 5/10/2005

I eat in restaurants about three times a week, and am still always surprised at how much fun I have at the Bluwater. The staff seems glad to be there, the food is always great, sometimes even fantastic, the drinks are always strong and plentiful, and the view is the best. people always just like to complain and rant, but this place deserves a rave, and a compliment to boot. more

get with it! 5/10/2005

Im so tired of people complaining that the bluwater is too crowded, too popular, too blah blah blah. This place is great! the food is good, the service is friendly and fast, the deck is the best in town, and the view is gorgeous. Sorry if you don't feel like your at canlis, but your not! check out your bill, that great new york steak is 22 bucks, not 75$! Relax and have a good time people! This place rocks. more

the perfect date 5/10/2005

my boyfriend surprised me last week by taking me out to dinner and drinks at the bluwater, and I can't begin to describe what a wonderful time we had. We were seated right by the window, with a nice view of lake union. Our server was very sweet, and helpful with the wine list to match what we had ordered for dinner. We shared the fondue for dessert- fun and romantic. Just a lovely time, thank you to the staff at bluwater for helping make our night special! more

wine on the water 5/7/2005

I went to bluwater last night for the first time in over a year. I ran into a friend and we decided to get a table on the deck for dinner. We already had cocktails at the bar, but the bartender was nice enough to have a hostess show us to a table outside, and transfer our drinks. It was VERY BUSY, but we were greeted with a smile and some menus, and quickly ordered our dinner. We had appetizers, entrees, and dessert, and I couldn't tell you which was the best, every single bit was wonderful. Our waitress suggested the bottle of Jordan to go with our steaks, and she was right on the money. Everything was awesome, I know where you'll find me the rest of the summer! Pros: awesome food, great service, unbeatable view more

greenlake gem! 5/7/2005

After running around the lake , we stopped Bluwater for lunch. Full but not crowded, we were quickly seated at a big booth, and our drink order was taken right away. While we enjoyed our bloody marys (3 bucks at brunch!), we had a hard time deciding between the lunch or brunch as they seem to offer both on weekends... I got the burger (huge, juicy), while my wife had the crab cake eggs benedict. Hers might have even been better than mine, if thats possible. Our server was very nice, and was good about describing the menu (that was our first time there, we just moved to here). It is now my favorite place, its just 20 steps from the lake and I couldn't have asked for a better neighborhood joint. You should try this place, its great. Pros: great food , friendly service, fireplace!!! more

two thumbs up! 5/6/2005

great food, big strong drinks, nice wine list, beautiful view, very competent staff (not too bad to look at either, the men or the women...), great attitude and the best place to watch the boasts and the people. what more can a girl ask for?b bring your friends and a good attitude! more

Bluwater is terrible! 3/6/2005

i had dinner here with a couple of friends the other night and was shocked at the poor quality of the food and the ultra-rude staff! come on! I've never had a worse restaurant experience, cheap cold food, slow rude service - we;ll never eat at this restaurant again! yuck. more

Bliss rocks 12/15/2004

My family was in there the other night and we were treated great. The server, who was called Bliss, was very attentive and took very good care of us. My kids absolutely adored her and she also bought dessert for my dad's birthday. I will definitely be back to see her again. She is a true asset to your company. Pros: Service, Food more

Bad Service 7/29/2004

Blu Water Bistro has the worst service in the city. We recieved terrible service and we were treated like we were a burden to the staff. The owner was actually the worst part of the experience. Does he hate the customers, or what? The host was also incredibly rude and not helpful. We will never go back... Pros: decent food Cons: , rude more

Underrated Food 5/23/2004

This place has a reputation as a single's bar with food as an afterthought but a recent visit was quite impressive foodwise. The bistro cut New York steak was better than steaks I have had at The Met Grill or Ruth's Chris for almost half the price and this is no exaggeration! Salmon was moist and flavorful and cooked to perfection. Service was efficient and polite. Noise level is rather loud which makes it a good place for groups or first daters who want a classy yet fun environment. The new Leschi location is especially nice. Pros: New York Steak, Salmon, Cocktails more

Very romantic 12/30/2003

This is a gem of a restaurant! The food is great and they have the best service I've gotten at a restaurant in a long time! I highly recommend it. more

Queene Anne patron 7/17/2003

I han't intended on writing a review until I noticed some of the previous ones. All they seem to prove is that if you have a bad experience, you want to tell the world, if you have a good experience you tell no one. I fould the Bluwater (Lake Union) to be excellent in all respects. The food was terrific and the service was great. The owner's were very helpful, especially the bald guy. I will definitely be back with more friends. Pros: food, service, ambience Cons: parking - sometimes more

Jungle Gym 5/29/2003

I have enjoyed the view many times at BluWater...until recently. Imagine looking for that someone special then hearing screaming kids playing on a jungle gym. The little kiddy play area kills the ambience here...especially if this is advertised as a singles scene. I think one kid kicked sand near our table just to spite us! I still recommend enjoying cocktails on any sunny day there...just watch out for "The Gooch" in the sand pit that will take your lunch money Pros: View, Staff Cons: BluWater Sand Pit, The Gooch more

KAMIKAZI- insensitive? 3/28/2003

Whats with Mr. Chris Allensworth's review? I have been to the bluwater often...and one thing about the bluwater is.. it doesn't take much of anything serious. Is this guy for real?? what a moron. I am sure he sees no problem when he orders his "Kamikazi" or "Irish Car Bomb" drinks. Should we rename these drinks "DEAD AMERICANS". I guess thats the beauty of America, people like Chris don't need to think to type!! Or have any strain of logic in their thought process. Pros: ahi, kamikazis, irish car bombs Cons: chris allensworthg more

deckalicious 3/23/2003
