Highly recommended for Beauty 8/9/2006

My goodness....I'm glad I found Blue Medical Beauty Spa. I kept on calling and searching, for reasonable prices and outstanding customer service, for a couple of days. Some facilities either had rude customer service or employees that were not able to answer questions I had. Finally, I decided to call up Blue and see what they had to say. Pros: You are able to come in through the back door of Blue's facility & all questions are answered. NO pressure at all. They work around your schedule. Cons: It is hard to find parking on the street if you are not aware Blue validates for parking on back of the building. more

Inconsiderate. 6/26/2006

I booked my appointment on a weekday and got there 20 minutes early. Should've been an easy visit, right? My appointment time comes along and to my bewilderment and confusion, a lady who was 15 minutes late for her appointment got her treatment first. It's great that they were so thoughtful of her time. Too bad it came at my expense. When I confronted the staff about it, I got zero apology, but lots of excuses. Pros: Good parking. Cons: Rude. Unprofessional. more

Very unprofessional & unorganized 4/20/2006

If you want professional people , who take their job seriously and a DR. who cares about the quality of his facility, this is not the place to go! The staff seemed stressed and hurried me along, they over charged for botox and later explained it was ""normal"" if the person needed more in that area to charge more, which i understand , but I was NEVER asked if I wanted more. Very Unprofessional 9/27/2005

The day of my facial, I called about having an extension that included my neck and chest. The receptionist, helpful, said to come in 15 early, I did. (I live 45 min. away) I waited 25 minutes before I was called for my treatment. Mulitple administratives passied by, not one stopped to check on me. Once in the room, the tech spoke with me about the treatment,which was good, but 15 minutes was too long. She didn't tell me to get ready but just left me in the room for 10 minutes, came back, grabbed something off the counter, and left me again for another 10 minutes. I went to the front, told them my treatment was supposed to be completed by this time, and that I needed to leave. They said to just call when I wanted to re-schedule. No apology and no explaination. Very unprofessional. Pros: clean Cons: overbooked their app., very unporfessional, no apology more

CitySearch doesn't let us delete reviews, so I'm modifying my original one. I've been to Blue several times. Once for one microdermabrasion, once for a bikini wax, and twice for laser hair removal sessions on bikini and underarms. This place is ok. The technician who performed my microdermabrasion treatment seemed intelligent and skilled. She did not do the annoying hard product sell and truly listened to my concerns about my skin. The bikini wax was ok. I've had better (Trilogy in Hermosa) and worse (Pink Cheeks in Sherman Oaks). Now for the laser hair removal experience. Why is it that people advertise laser hair removal as though it is pain-free? Are you kidding me? Even with numbing cream, it is an unpleasant experience. A laser is burning your hair follicle! After repeated sessions, our hope it that those hair follicles will be completely destroyed! Of course it hurts! But after my second session, I experienced pain and even one small area that was slightly blistered. I don't want blisters and burns on my genitalia! The nurse on the phone said those were acceptable symptoms to be expected after a laser hair removal session. Well I guess I'm not as tough as I thought because I was too traumatized to go back for the third session, even though I had already paid for it in advance and could not get a refund. The technician who performed the service seemed to be skilled but not at all sympathetic to my pain. I guess she figured I was paying for it, and lots of other women do it, so I should grin and bear it (no pun intended). Not for me, ladies. Not for me. I live in Koreatown and work in Manhattan Beach, so I doubt I'll make the drive into the Valley for any more services. I had a truly pain-free wax at the Triology Spa in Hermosa Beach the other day, and although waxing is going to end up costing me a lot more over the years than laser hair removal would, I'd prefer to not torture my private parts any further. Pros: medical spa with a lot of treatment options. Cons: i'm not planning on returning here for any other services. more

Unsympathetic 7/16/2004

After paying for and receiving 6 bikini laser treatments, the staff at Blue wouldn't budge when I tried to cancel my 7th appnt due to a medical emergency. I had made my appnt the day prior and when I tried to cancel, the woman told me there was a 48 hour cancellation policy and forced me to pay $50 with a credit card they had on file without my authorization. I will not be returning and will find a new laser facility with more compassion. Pros: easy parking Cons: , Mediocre quality more
