Great Expereince All Around! 2/15/2007

A friend of mine referred me to Blue Medi-Spa. I had an unbelievable experience! The staff was very pleasant and the RN that assited me was very patient and knowledgeable. I initially went in only have BOTOX done. After speaking to the RN, I decided to do Restylane, as well. Pros: Everything from the staff, to the level of expertise, to the ambience. more

Always late! 2/13/2007

I've been to Blue three times and each and every time, I have had to wait at least 45 minutes and, once, an hour and a half. And it isn't as if I just popped in, these were appointments I made the week prior or earlier that same week. I don't know if there is a lack of communication between the nurses and receptionists, or if the receptionists are overly optimistic in terms of scheduling, but the nurses are always late. What is the point of making an appointment if you're never going to keep it? The worst part is that I have to go back soon (because I prepaid for a treatment plan) and have to leave half my day open for a proceedure that would otherwise take 10 minutes. If you decide to go here anyways, just bring something that will keep you occupied for a long time, like your taxes or the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Pros: Ambience Cons: Punctuality more

Don't waste your time with Blue! 2/1/2007

I have been to many wonderful spas around CA and this is by far the most tense spa experience I have ever had. The staff was nice and friendly, but it was apparent they are held to standards by ownership to never give an inch when it comes to customer service. I had problems with them honoring a coupon they offered and arguing with me on package pricing . While checking in someone who appeared to be the owner called. I could hear her yelling and berating the employee over the phone. When she hung up another employee made a comment to her that implied this is not an unusual occurence! When reading the reviews on this website they are either that the spa is terrible OR over the top in terms of how wonderful the spa is. I can't imagine that the experiences are only either one or the other. My guess is the ownership is posting their own glowing comments to try to counter the truth ... their spa is not worth your time or money. So my wedding day was right around the corner and I was totally stressed out! My fiance insisted that I go relax at Blue spa with a massage and facial. When I got to blue I was ready to relax. Everything was so peaceful; I couldn?t wait to get started. more

The Worst Spa in LA 1/22/2007

I had the worst experience at Blue spa on Ventura Blvd. I went there on my birthdday to treat myself to a facial. I ordered a facial and dermabrasion off of their menu, they had listed the item as a package. The facialist gave me the treatment in the reverse order, she started to dermabrade my skin first and when she started to give me the facial my skin started burning. I told her that my face was burning and my eyes started to tear it was burning so bad. She then asked me if I was PMS-ing, and told me I should not have facials while menstrating. I told her I was NOT menstrating or PMS-ing, but my face was on fire. then she told me I should never get a dermabraion with a facial, and I told her that I order a facial off of THEIR menu, This was a treatment THEY were advertising. She spent the rest of the hour putting cold towels on my face. she NEVER appologized. She charged me full price and tried to blame me for the reaction. While I was paying the clerk tried to tell me that this was a normal reaction to this treatment, everyones face looks burned and then it recovers nicely. I never recvd the facial just burns on my face that took over week to recover from. I looked like I had placed a curling iron on my face in several areas. I would not recommend this spa to anyone, they were very unprofessional and they provide a terrible service , more

Best Spa EVER!!!! 12/4/2006

I was recently in town visiting a friend who suggested a spa day at Blue. I'm not really a ""spa girl"" but she mentioned they had medi treatments and that the spa looked unlike any I've ever seen which sparked my interest. FIrst of all the place is just beautiful--everything is white and blue, with water elements, neon lights and fabric shapes suspended from the ceiling, with a Jetsons-ish vibe. We both got facials, I got the Bye Bye Acne Blues (I love that name) and my friend got the Microdermablue. Minus the squeezing part, the facial was very relaxing and my pores looked cleaner immediately. The best part was my skin looked dramatically smoother and clearer in about a week and so far has stayed that way (it's been about a month now). We also got Botox which also took about a week before it made all the wrinkles go away and I tried Restylane for the first time and that immediately took years off of my face. With all of the treatments I look at least 10 years younger (but the boost in my confidence makes me feel 20 years younger). I don't live nearby, but I will definitely visit Blue again on my next trip. more

Blue Spa in Sherman Oaks is the best recommendation that anyone has recommended to me. I have been to many medical spas and this one in particular was the best. the setting of the spa is great, very fun atmosphere, fun and delightful staff. All the front desk girls were so friendly and so were the nurses. every person that i interacted with at that spa was very sweet and considerate of my every need. Im hooked. Blue offers a variety of services and is great with getting you in when you need it. they go above and beyond to make sure that your schedule is accomadated when scheduling appointments. i went there for a microderm with O2 facial. it was one of the best treatments i have ever gotten. the esthetician was very informative and suggested regular facials to help improve my acne skin. i have never seen such amazing results from a facial like i have with Blue. some great products were also recommended to me like the IS Clinical. great product. i finally feel proud of my face thanks to BLUE!!!! Wow...what a mistake that was 11/1/2006

This place is completely disorganized. They called me the night before my appointment and asked me to come in an hour early because thier nurse had to ""leave early."" So I get there and then have to wait 45 minutes!! The nurse said she did not know she had to leave early. Something fishy is going on. Anyways, to top it off they did not even accept my coupon that I printed off of THEIR website! That's my big mistake. A fancy website doesnt make a for a good experience. Buyer beware. The best thing I've ever done! 10/11/2006

So I decided to start looking into laser hair removal, because I get the WORST ingrowns and razor bumps from shaving, and when try and wax my skin becomes extremely irritated. I decided to do some research online and came across Blue Medical Beauty Spa. Their website and info on it was impressive so I gave them a call. The girl who I spoke with was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She answered EVERY question I had and best of all she made me feel comfortable (Im doing my bikini area). After I was done talking to her I went ahead and scheduled my first appointment! The day of my treatment I was getting super nervous, but when I got to blue the nurse who treated me made me feel so comfortable and completely calmed me down. The procedure was quick, and almost painless, thanks to their numbing cream! Since my treatment 4 weeks ago, I can already see less hair and guess what? NO INGROWNS!!!!!!! excellent and friendly staff especially front desk and the nurses. extremely helpful and informative. the nurse really listened to me when i came in clueless about laser hair removal, she took her time and explained everything to me before i had decided on doing the procedure. after speaking with the nurse, i felt very comfortable and well informed so i decided to do the laser hair removal on my bikini area. The nurse was highly experienced and knew exactly what she was doing, very sweet and attentive to my needs. After about 6 visits i was EXTREMELY happy with my results. i am hair free, ingrown hair free and best of all no irritation. The spa also has awesome deals for laser hair removal. i highly recommend going to this spa, my experience was superb!!!! Pros: Great staff, especially front desk. Cons: The parking guy. more

Terrible Experience... Treatment Poor and Customer Service Terrible 10/8/2006

I visited Blue Spa in Dec. '05 to get an IPL or photo facial. My friend got one at another medi-spa and I wanted a similar freshening up of the skin. I read all of the materials, spoke at length with the technician and was very excited. She assured me that I would see some results within a week but that I would feel much better about my skin within a few weeks. I told her what I wanted from the treatment and explainted that I probably would not return for the recommended 3-5 treatments because I wasn't trying to resolve a problem. I heart blue 9/18/2006

I've been coming to Blue for over a year now and absolultely love the spa and the people. A friend of mine suggested I try them for laser hair removal because I had ingrowns so severe I had to take antibiotics for the infection and they've been a godsend. My nurse, Ginger has been greatvery knowledgable, friendly and sensitive to my concerns (Im a baby about pain). In the course of 7 leg and underarm treatments all of the ingrowns and hairs are gone. BTW, they tell you to put the numbing cream on for 1 hour before treatment but I found that if I apply it 3 hours before I won't feel a thing. Since then Ive had the genesis treatment (worked great on my spots and pores), botox and restylane (about a week after getting it done everyone kept saying how my eyes look bigger and brighter) and Im an absolute devotee of the vitalize peel/facial combo (ask for Stacy or Amy). The girls at reception are very sweet, they always remember me and my special requests, and although Ive had to wait a bit longer on a couple of occasions, they were very nice about it and gave me free samples. Also I should mention, the spa itself is amazing looking, very fun and loungy but not in an intimidating sort of way.
