What a great experience they made my daughter's wedding! The team of staff is like a well-oiled machine with customer service as their prime goal. We purchased a beautiful bridal gown and proceeded to customize it with the help of their seamstresses...nothing was too difficult for them to do on our behalf. It seemed that an employee was overseeing the fittings in a meticulous manner...and then it turned out that she was the owner, who worked with us along side her staff, without ever making a big thing of her being the owner...the big thing to her was making sure we had a positive experience, which we TOTALLY did. The men got our tuxedoes from them and every piece fit perfectly and looked great. Our wedding was certainly a great time...and a lot of that had to do with the way Bella Rosa treated us from the initial appointment to the day before the wedding! Couldn't ask for a better place to prepare for your wedding! more

I have only had wonderful experiences at Bella Rosa. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and compassionate. It is a beautiful store with a great selection. My consultant made looking for the dress so much fun. From the alterations department to the owner, everyone has gone out of their way to be helpful and kind. I highly recommend this store for a memorable and positive experience! The customer service is worth a visit alone :) more

This boutique is convenient, cozy, and clean. The moment you walk in your welcomed by the staff. While you wait sometimes there will be food and coffee available. The Consultants are great listeners and really try their best to get you what you want, at a price range you can afford. The dressing rooms are a good size, and consultants provide you w/ whatever you need while you try on gowns. They help you put them on and take them off. They have pedestals and 3 paned mirrors. I would rate this the best Boutique I've been to in VA, and I've been to 3. This is the most sophisticated and professional of them all. I bought my dress from them myself, and I'd reccommend them to all brides. Oh and I don't find them to have a hint of racism...I'm mixed so I would know ;) But it is common sense to make an appt at a bridal boutique before you go. I bought my wedding gown from Bella Rosa and loved my experience there! Everyone was so nice and helpful. I went to all the bridal shops in Richmond and this was the only one that asked me how much I wanted to spend. My attendant, Phyllis, was extremely helpful in helping me pick out which gowns to try on. She was very knowledgeable about the gowns they have in stock and what gowns would match my price and preferences. I would definitely recommend Bella Rosa to a friend! Just had my appointment at Bella Rosa this past week. I met with salesperson (Danielle) who was great. I made an appointment on a Tuesday and was able to get in on Thursday of the same week. I was coming from work and got there about 15 min. early, but Danielle was able to take me early. We talked a little about what I was looking for and my budget. It was a much more laidback, pleasant experience than other places I have been. Danielle was great and worked within my budget, asking questions and really seemed concerned about meeting my needs. She did give me a head's up about alterations costs to take into account, which can run pretty high, but it was good to know ahead of time before picking out my dress. She also told me that some of the dresses can take up to 4 months to come in, so that was helpful to know ahead of time as well. I narrowed things down to 2 dresses and got ready for her sales pitch at the end of the session as I experienced elsewhere, but she was very laidback and told me to take my time, it was awesome. I was very pleased with this store and will definitely be buying my dress from here. Pros: Everything Cons: Can't think of any more

I decided it was time to go shopping for my wedding gown about two months after getting engaged, so I made sure to read about the shopping ?etiquette? before embarking on this journey. So I learned quickly that appointments are a must! That is just what I did with Bella Rosa. Although it was slightly short notice, I called on a Tuesday morning to see if I could request an appointment for the upcoming Saturday, in the morning. They were able to accommodate me. In the meantime, they asked for my email address and sent me a very helpful email about what to expect for my appointment. That was a very nice touch. Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

From previous reviews here and elsewhere, I knew I should make an appointment at Bella Rosa in advance (but who really thinks you can walk into a busy bridal salon and try on gowns at a moments notice? And who slams them online when they can't get their way?) Anyway, they were very nice on the phone, answering a lot of my questions in advance and sending me an e-mail with even more information that was helpful. Enjoyed a very relaxed hour-long appointment late on a Saturday and was impressed with the employee's knowledge of the dresses and what would work best for me. Altogether a much better experience than I had elsewhere--and not even comparable to the stores I visited where they take ""walk-ins."" Those stores are absolute zoos--not the kind of experience I wanted. Bella Rosa is the real deal for discerning brides--other brides may just not get it. I just got engaged on Thanksgiving and of course the first thing I wanted to do was start searching for my gown, so I set up appointments at nearly every boutique I could find (from a previous experience as a bridesmaid, I knew I could avoid a couple of them altogether, including Davids!) I called before going to get directions and all because I have heard raves about the shop and was very exited! Upon entering the store, I saw a lady at the front desk, who looked uneasy and a bit disturbed by my presence. Instead of her immediately saying ""Hi, may I help you?"" as I had expected...she said ""Hi, do you have an appointment?"" I said no and she replied...""You need to schedule an appointment before viewing."" I was totally flustered because I wasn't advised at the time I called. She didn't offer any assistance whatsoever, nor did she offer to schedule an appointment for a later date. She simply shoved a card in my hand and advised me to call next time. I kinda wanted to view the bridesmaid dresses that were on display, but because of her horrible attitude...I simply left. Sadly, I thought I was receiving bad service due to my race, but by reading other reviews...it seems as if they are simply RUDE! I would not go back! Can't complain about anything - from my first contact via e-mail through a phone call or two, through two appointments to select my dress, every contact with Bela Rosa has been just about ideal. All nice people, gorgious selection of dresses and very accomodating with my school schedule. If everything stays just as good through the alterations process, I may have to rate them ""Perfect""! I cannot say enough good things about Bella Rosa. My saleswoman (Phyllis) was possibly the most patient and helpful person on earth. They have an amazing selection of dresses and it was a very relaxed shopping experience. I had an appointment, and everything was right on time. They are very welcoming, not snobby at all, and extremely helpful. I've ordered my bridesmaids dresses through them too and the customer service continues to be fantastic. There is no question that this shop has beautiful merchandise and prestigious labels. I don't know if sales are frequent but the sample sale I saw when I was there offered fabulous markdowns. Unfortunately, my experience there was not great. I live 50 miles away and decided to visit the store one day when I just happened to be in the area. I phoned ahead to get directions. I told the person on the phone that I didn't have an appointment but just wanted to browse and would not require personal attention. She said that was fine. When I arrived I noticed a group of designer gowns at great markdowns. I was told that the other gowns were in the main salon past some glass doors and I was anxious to see them. The gowns were exceptionally nice. There were 2 people sitting there waiting for a girl who was trying on dresses so I was careful not to disturb them. After a few minutes a sales lady stopped me and said that I needed a sales person and an appointment to see those gowns. When I phoned I was not told I couldn't see the dresses without an appointment. The sales lady basically escorted me out and I felt both embarrassment and irritation. I won't be ordering a gown from them. You may not always remember every word someone says to you but you will always remember how they made you feel! I'm sure that most people who go there won't have the same experience. On the positive side Bella Rosa does have gorgeous gowns with quality handwork and luxurious fabrics. Just don't expect to be allowed to look at dresses without a sales person -- and be sure not to go without an appointment! Pros: Some of the best designers and a good selection. I loved this place! My experience here was wonderful. All the big bridal stores that I had been in were a little overwhelming, but not Bella Rosa. I had a different experience from the other brides who posted reviews, because I went on a week day early afternoon. They had such a broad selection, and the girls were very sweet and attentive. I've got to say that I loved my experience shopping for my gown at Bella Rosa, as well as for my bridesmaid's gowns. It's the best setting for bridal shopping in town, and everyone there is as nice as they can be. The most amazing part is their selection - a huge, separate bridal salon within the store full of what must be hundreds of the most gorgeous gowns anywhere. Do NOT allow any consultant from Bella Rosa Bridal to push you into buying because of a sale or promotion. My dress came in ""as ordered"" but the MANAGER failed to mention that the sash of my dress would be made out of a cheap material and that it wouldn't match the ivory silk dutchess satin that was used to make my dress. They did not offer any apology for the poor construction and mismatched look nor did they offer any sort of service to replace the sash...Also, their ALTERATIONS are a RIP-OFF!
