A Good Day for Buying Movies 1/29/2011

Music Department is excellent! There was a young African- american gentlmen (I believe his name was Robert) helped me find a movie that I was despartely looking for. He is polite and curtious and he makes his customers feel good about what they are buying. I thought to myself, "he must be a new employee". So I asked him if he was a new employee, but he replied that he has worked there for over a year. It amazes me to see an employee to still be smiling and seem like he truly cares about his customer; even after a year! Usually, after three months a new employee goes sour, but he still fresh and friendly. If this store is smart; I would consider keeping him, because I have seen many people complimenting his services (due to the fact that I was exploring around the music department for a long time trying to decide what I truly wanted). Despite the Complaints of the previous posts, I love what I've experienced! If the other negative comments are true, then I am glad I went to music depa more

Finally fed up 10/17/2010

I have lived in the Antelope Valley for twelve years and can't remember having a really enjoyable shopping experience at this B&N. Tonight I finally got fed up with the terrible customer service. They changed the store around and now it is like shopping at Walmart (at least Walmart employees are friendly). The music was too loud and busy to make book browsing enjoyable, there is now a much larger section of junk toys, and (as usual) I couldn't get anyone to help me find what I needed. It is actually cheaper to buy what I need online and pay for shipping than to drive all the way over there just to walk out empty-handed. more

Hostile panhandlers. 7/28/2010

The number of panhandlers have increased to such an extent that the staff at B&N simply do not care. I can't enjoy starbucks coffee without someone approaching me begging for money. more

Absolutely Appalling! 3/17/2010

I 100 percent agree with Rick H. ! This is the absolute worst Barnes and Noble I have ever been to! The customer service is terrible. Most of the time the employees don't even acknowledge your existence and on the odd occasion that they do, they are extremely rude. On my last visit to the store, I went to the Customer Service desk that is located in the middle of the store. I wanted to pre-order a copy of the "New Moon" dvd, and I also wanted to order a book that I couldn't find on the shelves. The woman that waited on me did not know what the "New Moon" dvd was even though there was a sign advertising the pre-order promotion sitting right next to her. I explained what it was and she proceeded to tell me that I would have to go to the back to the music and video department because she did not know how to put my name on the pre-order list. I was slightly irritated, but I decided to press on and see if she could order the book for me that I was looking for. I provided her with the title more

These other reviews have to be faked 12/1/2008

This is literally one of the worst customer-service experiences in the world. The staff is churlish and the lines take forever, even when they're short. Like any other Barnes and Noble, there are plenty of books, its just that the staff is deeply uncommitted to customer service of any kind. That's not just my opinion -- the store has a bad reputation throughout the Antelope Valley. I am not kidding on this -- the staff literally don't acknowledge your existence, even when they're taking your money. I've sat in the coffee house and heard the staff behind the register complaining about their jobs, complaining about customers, talking about sex (yes, talking about sex using the kinds of words you normally hear when people talk about sex). If there were five stars for "pathologically unfriendly," then this store deserves five stars. more

Most active bookstore 9/24/2005

This Barnes and Noble is a great one. Lots of people come here to read up in the AV. Sit around have a coffee and read a good book. The atmosphere is clean and the people are nice. A good place to spend your early day and catch up on some reading. I recommend all people to come here. more

Can't go wrong with B&N 7/29/2005

I love this B&N because it's big, nice, clean, bright, and always have something I can buy. You can sit in this B&N and read all day... get a cup of coffee and just sit in their sofas... Very nice... See you there lol. PROS: GREAT B&N CONS: Nothing to compliant!!! more

Barns and Noble 6/6/2005

I just love going to this bookstore! I love everything about it. They are very friendly and extremely helpful. There has never been a book I wanted that I couldn't find there. I love to get coffee and just walk around looking for new books. I also love the childrens section and so do my children. I recommend this bookstore to anyone who loves to read. more
