I've been taking my dog to banfield for 6 years.. He has always had great care. The staff and docs are all so caring. You can see how much they care about animals. Thanks Banfield

Not Good 4/8/2010

OMG, I hope this sounds as dramatic as it was! This is the worst place I have ever done business in my life. The doctors and staff have no clue what customer service is. I guess this is why they work with dogs. If I could have reached the vet that I was dealing with I would have SMACKED HER. They have attemped to overcharge me on multilpe occasions. Every time I go in there I feel dirty like I was just sold a used car and got screwed by the sales man. As long as I live, I will never return to another Banfield! more

horrible clinic - our dog was injured 3/25/2009

Banfield in St. Louis park is horrible. We took our 5 month old great dane in for a possible bladder infection. They told us we had to leave her there so they could take a sample (really, just wanted to charge us a ward fee). We picked her up 4 hours later and something was very wrong. Her rear legs were "cow hocked", her front legs were hyperextended so she was almost walking on her pasterns, she could hardly walk, sitting down, she almost fell over, she was drenched in her own urine (had been laying in it), and she was acting aloof and certainly not the happy, energetic puppy we brought in that morning. Of course, we made a huge deal out of it. They agreed to take xrays of her neck and spine to see if there was a possible injury. We observed the vet tech carrying her with one arm like a rag doll. This is a 60lb puppy, and you're about to take xrays for a possible spin injury. These people are just stupid. Still, have no resolution on what happened. We think someone dropped her on her more

great staff 1/29/2009

We take all of our pets here and they really seem, to know their stuff and they are so friendly. All of the girls there are great and Phil is the best. Also Dr. Todd is great we love her she always taked great care of our puppies. more

Hitting dog while cutting nails 6/11/2008

Took my dog in for nail clipping. Usual Rude service from staff. Watched as 6 staff held the dog down, while one inexperienced member tries to clip the dogs nails. Watched her hit the dog, because he was upset with the way she was cutting the nails. Less is more with that procedure. Said something to the Vet/mgmt and said that she would take care of it, and that I wasn't nice to her staff. Every time I've been in there I've been professional and nice with them. I'm not "nice" because I question them. This was at the Eden Prairie location. Avoid them. more

wow 3/5/2008

i'd called because i was price checking for Declaw and shots for my kitten. the person that i talked to was very rude saying that i shouldve already gotten shots for my 6 month old kitten and she kept trying to get me to schedule an appointment with her after id already said that i was just price checking. Which was not the best price for these services that i'd found by far. Also they kept trying to get me to "bundle" Services together saying that it would be cheaper in the long run. When i declined and Asked for just the price of the declaw without Newter she tried guilting me into it by saying that it wasnt fair to my cat to have 2 operations instead of one. \r \r I am not amused and i will not be using them as my provider as i felt they were out to get my money more than help me or care for my kitten. more

Banfield sucks! Wellness plan is a big hoax 3/5/2008

When I signed up for the Wellness plan at the St Louis Park, MN location, the front desk told me there were a bunch of free services I would receive & discounts on other services. The 2nd yr, my puppy was sick, throwing up constantly. I took him into the Banfield Hospital for a checkup & they informed me that extensive labwork needed to be done. A nurse suggested that I upgrade my Wellness plan for a couple of days so that the services would be covered. I asked her if I would have any problems downgrading and she said no. As I had little time, I went with her advice. About 8 months later, I wanted to cancel my Wellness plan but that was only possible if I paid up for the services received-the Wellness plan is a hoax making you believe the services are free but the plan works like installment payments for the services. I tried to call the clinic in MN, but a vet there was of no help & said nothing could be done. Now I am stuck with the plan till the end of the contracting year. Check more

Good 10/8/2007

I have been bringing my dog there for 6 years and am now bringing a new puppy there. They have always taken very good care of my dog and they have been extremely helpful with my new puppy. If you sign up for their wellness plan you will save huge money. One downfall is that they are busy and sometimes it feels like the employess are a little stressed but overall I have had a good experience with them . more

Consistent and helpful 6/4/2007

We have adopted a cat and a puppy from the Animal Humane Society in the last year. We have chosen to take them to Banfield. All of the Vets and their assistants have been very helpful and very nice. Our animals are very calm when there and even give out 'kisses" to the staff. We have been very pleased with them and recommend them to friends and family. more

Agree 7/2/2006

Our experience with this vet is not pleasant. The employees are very rude when questioned as to their costs and try to end the conversation quickly as soon as they detect a hesitance to make an appointment instantly. They seem to be out for their money and have very little feeling for the customer or pet. Perhaps this is a hasty conclusion, but I do not appreciate being talked down to because I want to know thier charges up front. Hopefully the doctors themselves are better. more

Eh. 5/6/2006

Not impressed with the service or pricing of this Vet chain. They are located in many PetsMarts so you'd think conveinence would mean good service. Not so. \r \r We had a Gerbil emergency and called for advice. They were extremely rude and unhelpful. They told us they would not discuss anything over the phone and we must make an appointment but there were none for the next few days anyway. No No they say---don't go anywhere else, it will be fine, just make an appointment. \r \r Turns out the gerbil had a cold, which is deadly if not given antibiotics right away. The office didn't care that their rudeness and procrastination caused the death of a childs pet. more
