I have never rented a limousine before so I took the time to research and visit the companies that seemed professional, by far Baja was the best! The lady on the phone was so professional and up front about all cost! When I went to view the limo's they where really beautiful. The day of my daughters wedding was perfect! The driver know ever detail of the event. I will definitely use and recommend Baja limo again. more

Great Napa tour! 6/9/2010

Baja limos's Napa tour was fantastic! They recommended a Napa tour and suggested beautiful wineries. Mike was our driver and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend spending a little more $ and tour the Napa Valley area over the Sacramento-Amador area wineries. There wasn't a big price difference, and it was WELL worth it. The grounds, wine and scenery far surpassed any local wineries. Pros: clean car, great service, best prices Cons: none more

had a bad experience with Baja Limo. I requested their service for a ride from San Francisco airport to Sacramento. I was quoted a price and I liked what was promised. When I arrived from my trip from Europe the driver showed up late. He place the bags in the trunk and then gave me paperwork to authorize payment for twice the amount quoted. I explain to the driver that was not the right amount. I was given two choices I could stay at the airport (it was around 1am) or go home. I felt like I had no choice then contacted Baja Management talked to a male person who identified himself as a manager who told that since I signed I was not due any refund. When I called to request the service the woman who took my reservations even said that she was recording the call so that there will be no misundertadings ( I guess they get the same complaint a lot) but when I ask for the recording to be played to validate my point they claim they didnt record the call...shady business...take a look at other reviews on the web and beware!! Pay special attention to those sites that unlike KCRA only accept good reviews (hmmm advertising dollars perhaps) . I bought into the advertising because I saw them in Sacramento Magazine but I guess good reviews come to those who advertise haha!! Pros: none Cons: shady practices and quotes more

How can a company THIS BAD still be in business? 3/25/2010

How can a company that treats people so poorly still be in business? My wife and I hired this company to take us to dinner for our anniversary. As we were being dropped off at Morton's, the driver said he needed to go talk to his girlfriend but would be back at 9:30 pm. He didn't come back on time., In fact, he finally came back at 10:30 AS MY WIFE AND I WAITED ON THE CURB FOR AN HOUR. The driver wouldn't even answer his phone. Then,Baja even charged us for an additional hour and when we tried to talk with the owner, he said we were lying. PLEASE READ ALL OF THESE REVIEWS AND THE ONE BAJA WROTE. WE DIDN'T VIOLATE ANY RULES. I've been searching for a limo for my daughters homecoming. I looked at several companies- and was very UNIMPRESSED. When I came to Baja, I was given a full showroom tour of immaculate limos! I booked the new Excursion and was very impressed with their service. The driver was very nice, and he made us parents feel that our kids were going to have a fun and SAFE homecoming. It's very important that parents take the time to look and visit these limo companies. I'll recommend Baja to all my family and friend. We’re very sorry that we upset “Mom” when we informed her that her minor, 16 year old son was not going to be able to “party” on our vehicle. Ray and his friends were given a full showroom tour, and they were very excited to book the bus until they were informed of the transportation laws we are governed by in the State of California regarding minors. Most “moms” are relieved of our company’s commitment for their children’s safety. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! 10/26/2009

I was going to use this place for my 17th birthday party and get a party bus. mind you I have to pay for it all since both of my parents are not working, so for two days me and my friends worked our butts off doing so much yard work to get the money. I called this place today (Oct. 26th) and asked them if I could see the party bus for 20 people, they said yes between 11:30AM and 2:00, they said I could see the entire bus inner and outer. Mapquest messed up on the directions not Baja's fault, however we called Baja five times while on White rock Rd. Each person gave us new directions saying turn here and there. Tom said to look for a 12 foot Baja Limo sign, it was on the building, behind a whole bunch of other buildings. We got their at 1:40 finally they said they were about to go to lunch. I waited five minutes for tom to show me and my two friends the party bus. My mom stayed in the car cause they were rude to her. Tom did not show me the inside of the bus, he said it was close to the wall to open up the door without scratching it. He KNEW I would be coming, why did he not move it so i could look at it? Apparently the back door would hit the other limo of course he could not move. So i did not see the inside of the bus at all, like he promised me. I xcouldn't even see one side of the bus because it was parked to close to the wall. He than told me we could not dance on the party bus and could not hang around in it for the 2 hours. It's a party bus is it not? We were told we had to sit down and had to go to somewhere and be dropped off. Than his phone rang when I started to talk to him, he did not say excuse me or anything, he just picked up his phone while I was talking. I waited he got off and said to look into some clubs we could go to that would allow under 18 year olds. I walked out finally angry that he was that rude to me and did not show me the inside of the bus. I DO NOT TAKE HIS WORD! My mom called when we left and told him that he was rude and was not running a business, was running a scam. He went on about how the limos are very nice he was rude to my mom saying we can just do it another time and would not listen to it. Do not use this place at all, nice on the phone when you ask questions but when complaning or in person their rude to you. Worst Customer Service Ever Experienced 9/25/2009

This company represents the worst in small business. I booked a car to/from Carmichael/SFO. The only thing I can say that is positive is they showed up on time. On a day when it was over 100 degrees, they sent a car for my entire family with no air conditioning. I cannot begin to describe the discomfort of riding to San Francisco in that sauna. I called their office to try and get a different car and/or lodge a complaint. I was told the manager was at lunch. She never called back. I phoned again from SFO and was told she was still at lunch. I tried to call from Europe and asked to speak with the owner of this company. He wasn't there either. I left a message. He never called back. I called again. I was told he'd call me within the hour. He didn't. They sent a different car to pick us up upon our return. This vehicle also had bad A/C. Some vents were fine; others blew out warm air. I again tried to reach the owner(s) of Baja to no avail. I finally complained about the charges to American Express, who issued a temporary credit. This was later reversed when a manager at Baja flat out lied to AmEx in saying that the cars were fine and that the A/C was working. My only recourse now is to try and prevent others from suffering thru this same situation. The broken A/C would have been bad enough, but just unfortunate. It is this company's complete and total disregard for their customers and any semblance of customer service that are truly amazing. OVERCHARGED. LIED TO. 9/12/2009

First, I encourage CitySearch readers to carefully read the negative reviews on CitySearch. Also go over to Yelp and read the reviews there. I wish I would have read the other reviews on CitySearch and Yelp before I used this company. I see that Tom-the owner- posted a review below called "Straight Talk." What he says about his limos are true-our limo was clean and there was a no eating policy. And we had a very good driver. However, it's apples and oranges. How clean Baja's fleet is has nothing to do with what all the negative reviews on Yelp and CitySearch are screaming about: overcharges, ethics, and conflict resolution. And the company does not resolve issues even when I calmly call it to question the overcharge. Tom begins to cite other things and deviates from the core issue: price agreed on. I'll share our experience. Like the some of the other reviewers here and on Yelp, I got the bait and switch from Baja. The company and website looks awesome and professional. I talked to Tom who quoted me a great price for a limo and sounded really nice. Then my credit card got charged and it was almost twice what he originally quoted me! I called and left several messages and never got a call back over several weeks. When I finally spoke to Tom on the phone (after repeated attempts), he said that I was trying to work the system and that he never quoted me that price. That he would be losing money if he offered it for that price. I simply said: "Tom, this is what you verbally quoted me. You should honor it." He then says that he never said that. Like one of the other reviewers mentioned, I wished I had a recording of our conversation. Tom asked whether the riders had a good time. He asked if the Limo was clean. He asked who these other competing companies were. All of which, of course, are irrelevant because that was not my complaint. The lesson: Get everything in writing. I did some research and apparently Tom and company has been in business for over 20 years! From the Yelp reviews and CitySearch, evidently I am not the first one this has happened to. If Baja really cared about resolving conflicts like these, the solution is so elegantly simple: Give people a CLEAR quote in writing and do a pre-inspection and post inspection. Dollar, Enterprise, Budget have this very clear, logical policy. So the question is: Why does Baja Limo continue to see these negative reviews about the same issues/themes again, and again, and again, yet choose to do NOTHING to minimize customer conflict? My conclusion: Baja and Tom likes playing the game and can continue to get away with it. Terrible. BEWARE and AVOID Pros: Clean Limo Cons: Overcharges. Poor conflict resolution. more

TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES 2/20/2009

These are the most shady business people I have ever come across. I was charged way more than I was quoted would be the "final price." They recorded me booking the limo. They brought a much more expensive limo and I ended up paying hundreds more than I planned. I was told if I cancelled I would be charged the full price. When I called to complain, the owners belittled me and were very defensive. When I asked them to please listen to their recording, they said they destroy it after 24 hours. Why read more > did they even record it then? I should have listened to my friend who warned me about this company--they are SHADY. BEWARE. Pros: The Driver was good. Great Service!!!!! 1/30/2009

This is in response to iluvspas review- I was one of the unfortunate people who was involved with planning this event with her. We called at least 5 companies together and they ALL required credit cards to hold the reservation- whether you pay cash at the time of pickup or not, which make sense. They want to insure they're paid in case people throw-up or damage things, duh. She deliberately gave them a card that she knew had no funds available, but thought they would let her get away with it because she promised cash. I felt really bad because I knew she had no intention giving a credit card for damages and it made me feel like she had plans on trashing the limo. I was with her when the company called and said they needed a credit card with funds available, and that it could be anyone in our party- she got an attitude with the poor guy and said no one had a credit card! Please keep in mind there was 12 of us- and we all had credit cards, she was swearing at the manager (who was only doing his job) and acting like a fool. The manager said they had to have a card on file to provide service, and she told him to go to hell. I was SO embarrassed of her actions; I decided that if she acts like this sober, she would be a nightmare drunk, so I canceled my plans with her that night. Thank GOD I did, I heard she was a raging drunk and got kicked out of a bar she went to!! I feel REALLY BAD for this company; it takes a big person to deal with her as politely as he did! Best Limo Comapny in Town 1/15/2009

I've used many limo companies over the years, but none compare to Baja. We used them for our family Christmas Light Tour, and we were impressed from the start! The limo was impeccable and the driver was very professional and knowledgeable. Our friends and family were so impressed we used them for our New Years Eve event too! Baja has the best service, best drivers, and the most beautiful vehicles in town. Highly recommended company! more

We maintain only newer quality limousines, Sedans, Hummers, SUVs, Limo Busses, and Chrysler 300s. All of our vehicles are non-smoking and food is prohibited. Food and food odors can ruin the interior of a limousine rather quickly. There are several companies in Sacramento that do not enforce rules like these and the reason is, they don?t have pristine vehicles (i.e.: no scratches, dents, tears, or burns in the upholstery) and they don?t have cars that smell and look new. Keep in mind; it?s hard to enforce rules when you pull up in a damaged, les-desirable limo. So, if you read a derogatory statement about Baja Limo, you can bet 100% that somebody violated our rules or possibly went overtime. Nevertheless, if it is not a legitimate charge, you better believe that Visa, MasterCard, or American Express would not let the merchant keep the money. There are strict laws by which Visa, MasterCard, and American Express operate. When selecting your company of choice for transportation service, don?t believe anything you hear or see on a website. Here?s our number one consumer tip: Get in your car and go see what you?re getting for a limousine. If they don?t want to show you the vehicle or skate around you viewing the limo, you probably don?t want to rent it. The WORST Limo company in Sacramento 8/14/2008

This place was and is horrible. They first quoted us the wrong price and then gave us a different price to charge on the card for the final amount. The center window in the limo didn't roll up and we were told that the sunroof couldn't open. The next day my friend got a call in the morning asking about the v*m*t situation in the limo. All of us that were in the limo were pretty sober on our way back downtown as we had just ate a huge dinner. Not one of threw up on the limo. The guys left a message on my friends voicemail and preceded to charge her credit card the clean up fee of $750 with out showing us proof and or speaking to us before hand. My friend had telephoned them pretty quickly after the voicemail was left but was told that the managers were in a meeting and were not available. My friend was beyond upset and mortified that the people had the edacity to charge her account with even showing evidence or some form communication that would substantiate their claims of damage. I would highly suggest that you not use this company. Their business relations and ethics are of high distaste and intolerable to a degree that words can?t even describe. I feel that they prove to be a phony business that shams people for their money and would be better known as high-class thieves. DO NOT USE THEM! AVOID THIS RIPOFF 7/28/2008

I have rented limos from other companies and have never felt ripped off until I rented from Baja. I was charged over $300 extra in "hidden fees". The management was completely ridiculous when I called to follow up. They were argumentative and even resorted to name-calling, even though all I wanted was an explanation of the extra fees. Pros: Driver was nice. Cons: Shady !! more
