Excellent Food! Excellent Service! Something Different! 1/1/2008

Me and my husband went to Bahama Breeze for our Anniversary and left VERY HAPPY! (and we don't drink alcohol!) A friend recommended it, as we were looking to recreate our Honeymoon in Florida. \r They had it all! From the ceiling high palm trees, to the staff in tropical shirts, the theme was definately there! \r Our waiter explained where to find everything on the menu, after asking if it was our first time there. He answered all the questions we had, and even advised us the portions are hearty. On the menu, they offer 1/2 portions, great if you'ron a budget!\r Appetizer: Spinach Dip. - Warm and Yummy!\r Husband - (1/2 portion) Lemon Lime Tequila Chicken Breast, rice and beans, and per waiters suggestion, Apple Mango Salsa \r Husband (who is a chef) said it was VERRRY good. He said the the presentation of the food on the plate was wonderful, while he ate every forkful. He was stuffed! He kept wanting me to try it, but mine was too good to stop eating.. I didn't want to lose the wonderful taste in my mouth.\r I had the (Calypso) Shrimp Pasta- HEAVENLY! It melted in my mouth! Different spices than I've experienced, but I don't use many. I ordered a full portion and had the leftovers for lunch and dinner the next day! HUGE portion size of pasta! \r We didn't have dessert, as we were STUFFED to the gills! So that was our excuse to go back! We took my parents for their anniversary the NEXT week!\r This time I had the ribs! They even let me taste the sauce before ordering. ($20 for a full slab) Husband had a different chicken-VERY GOOD, Mom & Dad had Telapia-EXCELLENT! You can order a variety of fish prepared a million different ways. \r They also had more Carribean style/flavored food, if that's what you're looking for. We weren't, but still enjoyed our food!\r \r 1 appetizer, 4 drinks, 4 meals, 3 EXTRA sides= $100 (I tip 20%, included here)\r \r Needless to say, we still never tried their dessert! We'll have to go back again and keep trying! Pros: Tasty Food, Friendly Service Cons: None yet! more

What an experience! 12/26/2007

This was my first time going to Bahama Breeze. I was visiting with some family who lived in Ohio. Upon entering, the restaurant was very crowded and noisy. We were seated and ordered appetizers and drinks. I had to order an appetizer as the main dish because the few entree options they had were so expensive. They were pretty good, but we were unable to enjoy them as the table next to us was so loud, rude, and thoughtlessly talking. We asked our waiter if we could be moved and he kept saying, ""I'll talk to my manager."" We waited for our entrees in this unbearable situation, constantly asking for another table but were ignored. The manager came out and said there was nothing he could do to move the people. We reached our boiling point when all this drama caused the waiter to drop and shatter our plate and a water glass all over the table because he was so nervous. We made a decision to leave the restaurant even though our entrees had just arrived. As we were leaving they said a table just opened up and we decided to just stay. They seated us in a new but equally noisy part of the restaurant. We had a new waiter and our food, now cold, was waiting at the table. After all this my cousin had been given a completely incorrect dish!Disappointed and exhausted we ate and left without getting any bargain from the owner for a discount on our bill (over $100). Interestingly enough, we encountered both of our waiters from that evening a week later at Cheescake Factory. Turns out they both quit that night because of the terrible management and found a better job.\r Overall the experience was so dramatic I can't even remember what anything tasted like that day. It is unfortuante as I will never visit Bahama Breeze again because of this. Pros: Interesting menu items, fresh drinks Cons: Terrible management, extremely noisy more

Great food, uncomfortable space 8/30/2007

We were looking for somewhere we hadn't been, and picked this because of the reasonable price range and promise of interesting cuisine. The food was great, I must say. I had paella, and it was bursting with flavor. I liked it better than the one I had at the lovely Mallorca restaurant, where I found it to be a bit dull. Note that at BB it has a touch of heat and lots of spice. My husband had the grilled skewers of meat and veggies with pineapple. It was also delicious. The mohito was a little off, but the fruit smoothie-like drink I had (maybe a bit too sweet) and the lemonade our friend had were fresh and tasty. The desserts were fantastic. The Chocolate Island and the Chocolate Pineapple Upsidedown Cake are surprisingly well done, attractive and delicious. The appetizer came to our table slowly, but the entrees were close behind. Our waiter was very good - patient, helpful and attentive. The hostesses, however, were a bit dour and failed to help our late-arriving guest to our table, even though we left his name with one of them. I gave this restaurant three stars, just based on the food and waiter. It would have been one or two based on the unappealing ambiance and condition of the place.\r \r We were surprised at how huge this place was. It has a sort of fake Florida/tropical facade. There are lots of windows to look out of, but what you see and hear through them is mostly highway. The interior is dark and has a chaotic feel, because of the size, layout and oversized decor. It was also pretty noisy, as the sound of people talking and the music bounced around the space. Our table was sticky, and the bench seat was too low. OK for families, but not cozy, and certainly not romantic. We prefer more intimate spaces and treatment, so we probably won't be back. It's too bad, because the food is worthwhile. Pros: Great food, generous portions, good waiters, easy parking, reasonable prices Cons: Terrible views outside, huge space gives uncomfortable feel, noisy more

Okay, but not my thing 11/18/2005

This place looks like an eating factory - it's big, noisy, and I was amazed by the crowds...get 'em in, get 'em out. Since it's stilll fairly new, maybe that will mellow out later on. The food and service was fine, seemed to be very kid-friendly. Just not my thing, I prefer a quieter more laid back place to eat. Also - while we waited for a table, we were ushered to a room that had one big table in the center, with a family eating their dinner. We (along with many others waiting for tables) felt awkward, like we had no choice but to stare at the family as they ate. I know I wouldn't want people staring at me while I ate...very odd. Pros: fast service, good food Cons: really busy, noisy more

Gen Mgr needs a class is customer service! 7/21/2005

Enough of a bad experience to contact the District Mgr of Bahama Breeze concerning the conduct of the Gen Mgr......Never will eat at this restaurant again.....what a shame. Cons: service, product, management more
