behind closed doors! 10/16/2013

I am writing this 2 months after putting our sweet boxer down. we found out she had urinary system cancer probably for at least a year. She had trouble urinating at her check up with Dr.Bach in June of 2012 & he said it was probably because she was getting old. At our 2013 visit the problems were getting worse, she had lost 7 lbs., & was eating half of what she usually did! She was taken to another room as usual & Dr.Bach came in & said she needed more dental work! We had $800.00 worth of work done on her teeth in 2012! No mention was made of her other problems! I took her to another vet for a second opinion & he found an enlarged lymph node in her pelvis & sent us to a specialist who did a biopsy. The node was so large it was hanging! They found extensive urinary & pelvic cancer ! The specialist said if her symptoms were looked into back in 2012 when she was having trouble urinating, this would have a better outcome! We feel Dr.Bach ignored her weight loss & other symptoms and how more

I recommend Dr. Bach! 9/27/2011

Dr. Bach's vet clinic is amazing. I just got home from taking my 4 yr old cat, Bosie, there for his vacc boosters and Dr. Bach seemed really caring and professional and knowledgeable. The office was super clean (I *hate* when vet's smell like animal urine! Bach's smelled super clean, but not like disinfectant either. It was pleasant.) The staff was really nice and we had almost no wait time in the waiting room or in the patient room. \r \r The only one minor negative I had was that Dr. Bach took Bosie out of the room to give him the actual shots even though he did the physical exam in the room we were in. It happened kind of quick so I was sort of taken off guard and didn't protest like I later felt like I should have...and Bosie was only out of my sight for maybe two or three minutes. If Dr. Bach didn't seem so concerned and trustworthy I might have more issue with that, and in the future I'll definitely request that I be present for all procedures (surgeries notwithstanding of c more

Found the BEST! 7/19/2011

Over the years I have owned several dogs and cats, The best vet i have found is at the Bach Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Bach is the only vet there and he takes the time to explain any problems that might exist. Plus if you have a problem, you can call and he is always there to answer any questions about that problem. If you want a compassionate and fair vet, call Dr Bach. He is very much worth the money and time spent seeking his caring practice. more

Best Vet Ever! 7/18/2011

I take my 3 dogs to Dr. Bach and have never received anything but the best care for my pets. I can't believe the negative reviews, I guess there are always two sides to every story. Dr. Bach goes above and beyond for his clients and patients. I have had pets all my life and have seen several different vets throughout the years, but now that I have found Dr. Bach I will not go elsewhere for veterianary care. more

BEWARE! TERRIBLE VET! 7/10/2011

My family as well as my sister's family have endured hardships from this vet. I had a 15 year old cat that kept getting bladder and kidney infections, she went from a heavy 13 pounds to skin and bones at 6 pounds. We would take her to Dr. Bach, whom I thought was kind and compassionate however that kindness came with a $350 price tag to pump my cat up full of medicine that made her no better. Every time I went in to visit it seems he talked me out of putting her down only to provide me with special medicine and a special diet. He kept saying "no no we don't have to put her down yet, she has plenty of years left." He tried to talk me into extracting a tooth on my senior cat where the total would be $500+. I cannot afford to put $400 into teeth cleaning for my elder cat. After dancing around hundreds of dollars and my cat suffering she ended up dying under my couch. Now my sister on the other hand she must have spent upwards of $10,000 over her shi tzus lifetime. She got her dog groomed more

Disappointed - Updated 3/11/2011

Due to a 5,000 character limit, my initial 3/11/2011 post has been modified allow for the 9/22 update below.\r \r 3/11/2011\r \r When Dr. Bach entered the room to assess our situation, he did not offer any comfort whatsoever. He explained how it was going to be a long difficult healing process for our dog based on where the injury was, and he became argumentative about various aspects of the proposed treatment. Like most dog owners, we absolutely adore our dogs (they are like children to us) and I was already feeling horrible about the situation. The last thing I needed was to receive this kind of negative reaction from a trusted "professional caregiver". Although I decided to take our dog somewhere else, I was still required to pay the minimum $48 charge for the 3 minute "assessment" he performed, which included only a glance at her leg and acknowledgement that she had a cut. I left Dr. Bach's office and went directly to the Banfield Pet Hospital (inside of PetSmart) in Florence, and had more

Caring Compassionate Professional 11/30/2010

Many years ago we moved to the area and were looking for a Vet for our 4 dogs and 2 cats. Dr Bach's Vet clinic was nearby and we decided to give him a try. That was the best decision we ever made. One of our dogs, "Beans" a little white poodle mix, was older and suffering from diabetes and the resultant blindness from her illness. Beans had a number of bouts with pancreatitis and others issues related to her diabetes. He always worked with us to keep the illness in check and more than once stablized her and extended her life. When she finally wore our from fighting the illnesses and it was time for her to leave us, Dr Bach came in to the clinic on a Sunday morning and compassionately helped us let her go. We will never forget how passionate he was about her care. He projected a genuine caring attitude to pet care and showed he truly enjoyed his profession. \r You may make decisions in your life, some good and some bad, but choosing Dr Back to care for your pets will be one in the plus co more

Dr. Bach is the best! 6/1/2010

I just started taking my lab puppy, Belle, to Dr. Bach. When I made the first call to get her started on her vaccinations, I didn't talk to one of his staff members - I talked to him! He talked me through everything and even took my appoinment! Even though I have not known him that long, I can guarantee that Belle, and any other animal for that matter, is in the best hands with him. He's gentle, sweet, caring, and he knows what he is doing! Not only is Dr. Bach top notch, he also has a wonderful staff. This veterinary clinic is highly recommended! more

Client 4/19/2010

I have used Dr. Bach on many occasions. He is one of the most caring vets I've ever seen. He has patience and shows love for the animals. He will go out of his way to help with your horse. He did with mine. He did stifle surgery on my gelding and hadn't done one in years. He had to order special equipment to do the surgery. I trust him totally. If you have questions he will answer as best he can. He's honest, very knowledgeable, and a very sweet person. I would highly recommend him to anyone who has horses or any animal. I'm really shocked at the one review posted. I've heard nothing but praises for this clinic. There always has to be one though that's not satisfied. more

RC 1/28/2010

Dr. Bach is one of the most patient, caring, and humane people I know. All of his staff members reflect that same feeling. He cared for my dog in sickness and in health and helped him live a wonderful life through the last 10 of his 17 years, regardless of some serious conditions with his kidneys and back. I am sorry there were bad feelings with one patient, but never saw anything other than GREAT work from Dr. Bach and his clinic in every situation. I would take any animal to him, and was driving several miles out of my way to continue to use his clinic after I moved, something I would almost definitely continue if having another animal.\r I never write in these types of things, but felt compelled after reading and seeing the initial review. more

I have to say I was quite surprised by the review below. I always feel my animals are in the BEST of hands with Dr. Bach. He is a truly passionate vet! more

Bach Veterinary Clinic is the best 9/4/2009

This is in response to John M's review. I really should not give any latitude to his incorrect "facts" but I have to respond because I do not like people not telling the truth on what really happened. When Mr. M called, the employees are instructed to give the cost of an office call and exam, nothing more can be quoted unless the pet's injury is evaluated. This cost of $48 includes a complete physical exam and an estimate for the repair of the injury. Mr. M forgot to mention the performance of a complete physical exam in his review.I did check my computer records in which all of the times are stamped when logged into the computer. Mr. M was taken to the exam room at 10:58am and he paid his bill at 11:17 am. Accordingly to his account , he should of left at 11:05 am.\r Mr. M was upset that he had injuried his dog while trying to save money for a professional grooming. He was very short with me and not open to my suggestions at all.\r After assessing the injury, a quote was presented for p more

Bach Veterinary Clinic is best for cows... not for your equine friends. 9/1/2009

I don't recommend Dr. Bach for horses. Maybe for cows, but not if you love your horse. He stiched a deep wound in my horse's side and left without giving me any antibiotics (but charged me out the "wazoo"). He did give me some bute, but that only goes so far. I did what he told me for several days but my horse's condition only got worse and the swelling increased as well as his pain. I had to call a second vet out who ended up having to give my horse 2 full shots of antibiotics plus a 14 day supply of oral antibiotics and then some. I will never recommend him to any of my horse friends. more
