Editorial review from Citysearch 5/8/2013

Very Shady Dealer!!! Purchased a Chrysler Crossfire with and extended warranty which they stated was required by my finance company. When I tried to use the warranty, with the warranty contract they gave me, I discovered it had been voided by the Auto Source right after I purchased the car. \r \r Somehow I didn't get a copy of the purchase contract that I signed with the warranty listed. Upon receiving a copy of the purchase agreement from my finance company I discovered that they raised the purchase price of the car and there was no warranty!! I spent thousands trying to repair this car, and it still had major mechanical and electrical issues. I had to get rid of the car and take a BIG loss on the trade. more

Worst dealership I've EVER encountered 5/7/2012

We purchased a 2006 BMW X3 from these guys on April 5, 2012, on April 9, 2012 I had the car TOWED to a repair center because smoke was pouring out of the exhaust pipe. Called Darryl and he told me the extended warranty I purchased would cover the part, the warranty company siad they WOULDN'T cover it and so the nightmare continued. Finally after all the back and forth the warranty company agreed to pay for a PORTION of the repair and said that The Auto Source should step up to the plate and pay for the rest of the repairs (which they didn't). I picked the vehicle up from BMW after they did the warranty repair and within 12 hours was driving it BACK because it was continuing to smoke. When I called Darryl about the situation his response was ""I have nothing to to with that vehicle now, it is between you and the finance company, I just sold the car."". I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone looking for a QUALITY vehicle. They don't stand behind their vehicles and could care less about anything but making a buck. Darryl even tried saying that the service tech at BMW messed the car up so to get away from taking any responsibility of selling junk. I had to give them one star because there isn't an option of giving NO stars on this review! more

I got a great car at a fair price. Thanks Daryl 11/23/2011

I am not one to write reviews but since I read them I felt I had to write one about my experience in purchasing my 2006 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S in June 2011 from the Auto Source Maitland, FL. I searched the web and found a car I liked. I completed the form on their site and received a call from Daryl. He was very informative about the car. I needed financing so I completed the quick form on line. He called back with options from a major bank and since I had little credit from having paid cash for everything for year I was surprised he was able to secure a great loan for me. We settled on a price that was very fair and below what I could buy anything like this car in CA. Even with delivery it was $1,000 more

Auto Source Rocks 7/5/2011

It was my first time dealing with the Auto Source guys. My sales rep "" Steve "" was great. He went out of his way to make my purchase a pleasent one. I will be going back to them soon for my next purchase. \r \r They have high end cars and your every day driver as well. If you are searching for either they treat you the same. Very professional people. Check them out more

Follow up 6/6/2011

Although my car experience has not been excellent the past 3 weeks I was surprised when the dealers called me back after reading a review from a family member about my car. Although I was upset that my car had been messed up only a few weeks after I bought it I do understand that it was a 3900 dollar car and that not everything is going to be perfect in it right when I buy it. I do believe maybe in the heat of the moment my family member reacted a little harshly but, it is their opinion and I am not one to say anything about it or try to correct what they said. But, in regards to the way the dealer handled the situation I was a little relieved that they didn't just chew my head off about it, acknowledging it wasn't my review. I did receive good customer service from The Auto Source at my time there buying my car and the employees were very nice people. Them calling me to clear up the review was not something I expected but, I was happy to clear everything up and talk it out with them. If you're looking for a good deal on a car don't hesitate to at least give them a try, not everything will be perfect in a discounted car, but you have to come to expect that. more

EXCELLENT DEALERSHIP - TREAT YOU RIGHT!!! NO BS!!! 6/6/2011

The day I bought the car, I left home knowing what I wanted (Dodge Challenger SRT8), but wanted to test drive one first. The first dealership blew me off and pre-judged my appearance and showed very little interest in wanting to sell me a car. Must have thought my daughter and I were out for a ""joy ride."" Big, BIG mistake. When I arrived at The Auto Source, Inc. they were more than happy to let me test drive the new SRT8 Challenger. The test drive just confirmed, ""this is the ride I wanted"", so I bought it!!! Steve and Darrell made the whole experience a fun experience and I would recommend buying a car from The Auto Source, Inc. to anyone. I read the other reviews and really can't understand it!! Very reputable dealer..........\r \r more

Clowns Who Sell Lemons 6/1/2011

On May 10th, my 18 year old son, who is an Intern at Disney World, bought a used car. The car was a 2002 Mitsubishi, with over 100,000 miles on it. We weren't expecting the car to last forever, but here goes. Two weeks later the car dies. The problem? An electrical failure throught the headlights. Had to get it repaired. Problem solved, not the end of the world. But wait! Less than a week later, the car overheats. Radiator pump. Get that repaired. Mind you, this all occurs less than 2 weeks from purchase. I should have known better than to deal with these CLOWNS. They lowered the used car price by a $1000 to get this lemon off their lot. My son is in Florida, I'm in California. They obviously took advantage of his age and inexperience. Nice job of sticking in to a kid you (insert special word that ends in s and starts with a). So, please if anybody is reading this and thinking of buying a used car from these crooks. Beware! They sell lemons, lemons and more lemons!!! more

Wow, how RUDE! 5/26/2011

Well, I can't even comment on the experience, I didn't even get that far but here is what happened... I sent in an email request on a vehicle, and the following day received a call back from James, seemed like a nice guy and told me that should I desire they would be flexible on the price. I thought about it for a few hours and before I decided to make the drive out (it's a bit of a haul for me) called again to verify with James and ended up speaking with Darrel, who told me that was not the case and hung up on me before I could even explain that James had asked me to call back for just that reason. If that's how these guys want to run things I'd hate to think of all of the people that have and will get shorted by their poor attitudes and just plain rudeness. Too bad for them. I'm just happy they saved me the trip and you can be assured that I will use my influence to counsel potential buyers to avoid this company in the future. more

Buyer Beware!! They reset the Engine light before purchase 5/18/2011

-05' Nissan Xterra- Everything seemed wonderful about the truck and service... they detailed the car wonderfully and even resurfaced my headlights for me. James said the car was in great condition and drives great... I leave the lot and within 20 mins. the check engine light turns and the gas gauge goes completely empty so i call james and ask why is the check engine light on? ""umm, im not sure"" ""try turning it on and off again"" basically a bunch of bull.. so he transfers me to darrell and after fighting with him for an hour... he basically tells me that ""Its an AS IS vehicle and there is NOTHING he will do for me!! you would think a recognized dealer would have some integrity and honesty about his vehicles... so the next day i took it to have it checked out... ***the breaks are at 20% and need to be replaced... ***the struts and shocks are about to FAIL...***The serpentine belt and tensioner are about to FAIL... ***including the Fuel sensor the repairs are in the $1500 range... I guess this is where the clique comes in about shitty used car dealers!! Please beware of this dealer!! Better Business Bureau here i come!! more

GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!! 5 STAR SERVICE!!!! 3/18/2011

We came to The Auto Source with marginal credit at best and thought for sure we would have to wait for days to get approved. Darrel got us approved very quickly and we had a great time driving our new car on our first vacation together as a couple!!! Everyone we encountered was very professional, friendly and treated us like family!! We will refer all our friends and family here for there next car!!!! more

Fabulous Experience 1/26/2011

We have had several circumstances to interact with this dealership. They have been extremely courteous, respectful, honest and fabulous to work with. We are very pleased with all experiences with them. James and Daryl both were helpful and cared about our service experience. We have recommended several people to them and will continue to do so! more

Unethical and Untruthful! 8/16/2010

I made an offer to buy a Porsche Boxster S from this company. The offer was accepted and my deposit via my credit card was accepted over the phone. My offer was contingent upon inspection of the vehicle. After I gave my deposit I was told by ""James"" that I had to give a 100% positive report to eBay immediately before even seeing the car. I refused and then the manager (Daryl) got on the phone and told me I could inspect the car and after signing the contract I had to give a positive report to eBay before leaving the lot. He told me that if I didn't comply with his demands, he would not sell me the car.He told me he would sell me the car outside of eBay though and I would not have to give a report. I refused. Later another gentleman named Derek got on the phone and demanded the same things. I told all three gentlemen that after signing the contract and driving the car from Orlando (their lot) to my home in Fort lauderdale (my home) if the car was as promised, I would be happy to give them a glowing endorsement. They said that was not acceptable. I was attracted to this dealer because of the 100% positive eBay ratings they had and now suspect that they have pressured other buyers to give them the phony endorsements. I backed out of the offer and now see that they listed my offer as declined by them. The whole thing smelled like a scam and I'm glad I didn't buy the car. I strongly urge you not to do business with Auto Source. more

Not to be trusted!!! 7/15/2010

I just bought a $75,000. Ferrari from them. I was driving the car home to Tampa and had gone only 20 miles before the engine light came on and the car dropped in power. I called them immediately and their response, ""It's an exotic! Ferrari's and Lamborghinis always have sensor lights coming on."" The owner told me it was just a light. He could have his electrical guy turn it off, so I would never see it again! Can you believe it! I took it to the Ferrari dealer and the bill was $924.10. Cons: These guys define ""used car salesman"" more

2 TIME BUYER AND I WILL GO BACK 5/22/2010

I bought a 02 Yukon from them back in 06...best thing I ever did...truck had 60k miles and looked like it came out of the showroom...still have the vehicle and it is running strong with 190k miles on it....when I bought it I was unable to get financing anywhere...i put 4k down and financed the rest thru Laser because they were the only ones who would take me...I was even a little late a couple times and they always worked with me....Bought another truck for my wife the other day.... an 08 Mercury Mountaneer with 45k miles....again like it came out of the showroom.....gave me a great deal on it just under 19k...wife still has the smile on her face......Darrel and James were great ...no pressure ever and Darrell worked really hard to get me financed with the bank even though the only way to prove my income was with bank statements...owner Rob even lowered the price a little so that I could get financed...a really great company and I would highly recommend them..\r Mike Pros: Great cars and go the extra mile for financing Cons: takes a day or 2 to drive your car home more

Buyer Beware 5/18/2010

Buyer beware. We bought our vehicle from Auto Source in April 2009. We put 11,000 down on a 16,500 vehicle and purchased an extended warranty that we really didn’t need because the factory warranty was still good. They told us they knew it had some factory warranty left and the extended warranty we purchased would pick up after the factory ran out which was not true. It was effective from date of purchase. We had paid well and had no issues for the year we paid on the vehicle until we had a issue with our bank we had to get cleared up and called their sidekick Laser Finance, Inc. and informed them we would have to get it cleared up before we could bring them a payment. We stayed in constant contact with them and there appeared to be no problems until we missed one call. We were exactly 24 days late and no more. They sent Guy Mitchell to our home after midnight with no warning and took our car. One note. The dealership, Laser Finance and the tow/repo co all have a nice little circle jerk going on. Guy actually handled some of our paperwork at Auto Source before moving over to the repo co where he appropriately belongs. The paperwork they waved at my sister-in-law (my husband and I drive over the road and were not home when this occurred) showed a bill of sale with a statement on it that said they could repo the car with no warning after being one day late. The issue here is that that statement was not checked or initialed as others were directly below that statement. We sought the advise of our lawyer. Unfortunately for us and please make yourself aware that no matter who you buy a vehicle from once they gain possession of your property you will have no recourse other than to pay them off if they demand a payoff. You could sue them, but that will not get your vehicle back and they know it. All you will get is the blue-book value of the car minus what you still owe them and minus atty’s fees. Essentially NADA. Our lawyer advised us to pay them off and get on with our lives, which is fine, but we refuse to let those behind us get duped into thinking they are dealing with honest reputable people when they certainly are not. Please be careful if you deal with Auto Source or any other buy here pay here lot. If they have a vehicle you desperately want, do not finance through their finance co. Laser Finance. They are people who don’t have a clue about what professional means. Once we paid them off, all we got was a cryptic phone number from Laser to call Guy Mitchell and told to meet him at the 7-Eleven down the road from their lot. We had to call Maitland PD to keep the peace during the transaction. Their repo lot is located directly behind Auto Source FYI. You would be better off trying to buy a vehicle from a larger dealer who doesn’t take their financial woes out on unsuspecting customers. \r \r P.S. The comment left below is a lie.. We were exactly 24 days late and we had current insurance. Nothing they wrote in this comment is true. These people are crooks and I wouldn't be surprised if everyone of these good reviews were left by them. Pros: They had the car we wanted Cons: Crooks and Thugs more

A Good company that works with you! 3/29/2010

Absolutey a dream come true! EXCELLENT DEALERSHIP 10/20/2009

I read the reviews about this dealership and I beg to differ. I had the most unbelieveable experience. I had recently got divorced and Guy helped me get financing with very bad credit at a good rate. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a reliable car. They are not pushy and very approachable. If you want to good about buying a car - go and visit the Auto Source. Pros: not pushy, approachable, friendly environment more
