Best

Charming salon with a terrific group of talented stylists. Everyone is super accommodating. It has a great atmosphere and is reasonably priced. They are all outstanding with color...

Worst

A nice place for a massage. Prices are ""typical"". Facility iis relatively nice although I have been to better places. i certainly would not call it ""world class"" but its not ...

Best Pedicure! Pricy... 10/28/2011

The atmosphere is amazing, beautiful place with tons of amenities. The staff could be a little more friendly, but who cares when you are being catered to with fruit trays, cucumber water and a cushy robe right before a great pedicure? Be prepared to pay for what you get though! more

Customer service is as good as Target's 10/18/2011

Cage with no canary. The grounds are beautiful at Arden Hills, but are not well kept up (the flowers in the front are not headed and appear brown,i.e., the gardening is not kept up to par, and the locker room is looking dated). But the worst part about this establishment, without question, is the customer service. It is on average so poor that it will be truly shocking for anyone who expects to be treated like a valued guest. The staff members truly have no idea HOW to be cordial, gracious, and accommodating. Some staff members are nice, but nice does not equal good quality customer service where customer satisfaction is the main goal. In addition, the nail salon has one horrific manager who can be absolutely a nightmare toward customers. The place desperately needs outside consult to upgrade the service end of the place. It is not first class in the least despite the looks of it at first glance. If one has not traveled outside of Sacramento and is young, one may be impressed for awhile, but if you are not in these two categories, be forewarned. Arden Hills ""Resort"" and Spa is not exquisite in any way, shape, or from, but rather just passable, for the most part. Hardly a true resort. more

Sacramento Retreat 5/10/2011

This is really a five star place. My husband ""ira Todd Klein"" found it when we went there from LA to meet with Arnold S. for a project we were doing. He likes the place too! Saw some other stars there. Sacramento is pretty nice. First time there. more

So Far...Not Impressed 1/24/2011

My Fiance and I are in the final planning stages for our upcoming ceremony and reception at Arden Hills. To this point in the process I am very unimpressed with the professionalism, dedication, honesty and follow-up of the Arden Hills Wedding Coordiantion staff. We recently completed our ""tasting"" for the menu choices that we have to make and I am simply dumbfounded at the process we experienced...We have to choose 2 entree items out of a possible 7...when we arrive at the tasting we are given the oppurtunity to taste 3 of the 7 possibilities. When we asked about being able to taste the other choices we were told that we had completed the ""complimentary tasting"" and that any others would have to be scheduled and would be an additional fee??? We are having a sit down dinner for 300 people, the ceremoney and reception cost just at Arden Hills will exceed 40K but tasting the additional 4 items will be an extra cost??? The other concern that arose after the tasting was the lack of coordination and teamwork that we personally witnessed at the tasting...couples were waiting 45minutes to an hour past their allotted tasting reservations and we witnessed 3 separate full blown arguments between staff in the hour and a half that we were there...If the staff crumbles when trying to complete tastings for 10 or so couples...How in the heck are they going to be able to deliver a sit down dinner for 300?? It is too late for us to turn back and I will certainly update my review after our actual ceremony and reception have been completed...but at this point, we are very unhappy and nervous about what we have experienced with Arden Hills for our wedding. more

$15,000 and all we got were pretty photos - that's it!!!! 9/4/2010

Booking at Arden Hills was the worst part of planning my wedding. I regret it wholeheartedly and am still in the process of getting things resolved 3 months AFTER the wedding. The reason? When I asked to speak with the General Manager I was told he doesnt have a direct extension and that leaving my name and number with the receptionist will suffice. I keep getting call backs from a Manager whom I dont want to talk to and who keeps ""relaying"" messages FROM the GM. What kind of venue operates this way and treats paying clients this way???The staff here is incompetent, rude, unprofessional and snooty - from the bored ""I have better things to do"" receptionist to the event managers who lack customer service skills and try to execute the most important (and possibly most expensive) day of your life with very little effort. Their website advertises a fancy, world-class venue and unparalleled service when in reality; all they are really after is your money. We booked our wedding ceremony and reception here in 2009 because we fell in love with the Villas. The Sales Manager sold us on how beautiful the Villas Garden was about all the perks and amenities of what it would be like to be the ""Villas Bride and Groom."" It was expensive, but we thought we were paying for quality as that was what they were supposed to be known for right? Wrong! There were so many things that went wrong that easily could've been avoided - it felt like no one cared to correct it, period! Not only was there a lack of communication skills and professionalism in the staff (especially the Managers and even General Manager), there was a huge lack in customer service and competence. The Manager who booked our wedding told us the bar and lounge would be open to the groom and groomsmen before the wedding, but apparently they close at 4pm even though the coordinator assured us ""it'll be open, just bring your credit card"". After we mentioned it to her, she said she didn't know! The banquet staff messed up the table numbers so our parents and immediate family ended up being seated in the very back and couldnt even see us!The only pictures during the reception we got were of them standing up so they could see us or their necks cranked because people were in their way! Imagine...our PARENTS couldnt even see their kids during the reception! The event coordinator never put the flowers on our cake as she promised because she was MIA and then left right after the ceremony! When we got back to the Suite we booked, it was DIRTY from the girls getting ready. It was SUPPOSED to be cleaned according to the Manager so the bride and groom can enjoy their wedding night. First thing we did when we got to the room? Empty the trash and tidy up the whole suite! What a way to spend the wedding night huh? The photographer, DJ and even our Reverend complained how the coordinator and staff were unhelpful and rude when asked a question. My mother in law had to serve us our fruit tray and water that was sitting in the kitchen because NO ONE thought to bring it up to our suite! I have been in guest relations my whole career and cannot believe how much Arden Hills lacks. They will take your money and all you'll be left with are pretty pictures of the garden and the outside of the Villas. If you book here, you'll basically only be paying for the photo opportunities and NOT quality, service or execution. Please check into alternative venues in Sacramento before you even think about touring this place. This place is just not worth the time, effort, patience or money it takes to finding an event/wedding venue. more

BEWARE!! 8/25/2010

I agree 150% with one Yelp review on here that says "Do not let your worst enemy book at event at Arden Hills." There is a reason 90 % of the reviews on Yelp are of the salon or the spa and not the actual event venue. A lot of the positive 4-5 star reviews are also from people who have ATTENDED a wedding or event but not actually been the person to book the event. The staff here is incompetent, rude, unprofessional and snooty - from the bored "I have better things to do" receptionist to the event managers who lack customer service skills and try to execute the most important (and possibly most expensive) day of your life with very little effort.
