Booking at Arden Hills was the worst part of planning my wedding. I regret it wholeheartedly and am still in the process of getting things resolved 3 months AFTER the wedding. The reason? When I asked to speak with the General Manager I was told he doesnt have a direct extension and that leaving my name and number with the receptionist will suffice. I keep getting call backs from a Manager whom I dont want to talk to and who keeps ""relaying"" messages FROM the GM. What kind of venue operates this way and treats paying clients this way???The staff here is incompetent, rude, unprofessional and snooty - from the bored ""I have better things to do"" receptionist to the event managers who lack customer service skills and try to execute the most important (and possibly most expensive) day of your life with very little effort. Their website advertises a fancy, world-class venue and unparalleled service when in reality; all they are really after is your money. We booked our wedding ceremony and reception here in 2009 because we fell in love with the Villas. The Sales Manager sold us on how beautiful the Villas Garden was about all the perks and amenities of what it would be like to be the ""Villas Bride and Groom."" It was expensive, but we thought we were paying for quality as that was what they were supposed to be known for right? Wrong! There were so many things that went wrong that easily could've been avoided - it felt like no one cared to correct it, period! Not only was there a lack of communication skills and professionalism in the staff (especially the Managers and even General Manager), there was a huge lack in customer service and competence. The Manager who booked our wedding told us the bar and lounge would be open to the groom and groomsmen before the wedding, but apparently they close at 4pm even though the coordinator assured us ""it'll be open, just bring your credit card"". After we mentioned it to her, she said she didn't know! The banquet staff messed up the table numbers so our parents and immediate family ended up being seated in the very back and couldnt even see us!The only pictures during the reception we got were of them standing up so they could see us or their necks cranked because people were in their way! Imagine...our PARENTS couldnt even see their kids during the reception! The event coordinator never put the flowers on our cake as she promised because she was MIA and then left right after the ceremony! When we got back to the Suite we booked, it was DIRTY from the girls getting ready. It was SUPPOSED to be cleaned according to the Manager so the bride and groom can enjoy their wedding night. First thing we did when we got to the room? Empty the trash and tidy up the whole suite! What a way to spend the wedding night huh? The photographer, DJ and even our Reverend complained how the coordinator and staff were unhelpful and rude when asked a question. My mother in law had to serve us our fruit tray and water that was sitting in the kitchen because NO ONE thought to bring it up to our suite! I have been in guest relations my whole career and cannot believe how much Arden Hills lacks. They will take your money and all you'll be left with are pretty pictures of the garden and the outside of the Villas. If you book here, you'll basically only be paying for the photo opportunities and NOT quality, service or execution. Please check into alternative venues in Sacramento before you even think about touring this place. This place is just not worth the time, effort, patience or money it takes to finding an event/wedding venue.
