Incredible Experience 6/28/2011

Me and my family had a fabulous time shopping for my wedding gown. The staff was amazing along with the selection. I worked with the new owner Julia and we found the perfect dress. They had a huge variety of dresses in every price range. I would recommend going there. The dress came in on time without any issues. Cheers more

Pertfect! 5/24/2010

Nothing but good to say about this bridal shop. They are FUN to work with and do everything to make you happy. I highly recommend. The selection is awesome. The service great. Pricing and quality the best. Pros: Caring, great selection, good pricing, great service more

Friendly, Cosy, and Personal Service! 3/15/2010

Julia helped me search for the perfect wedding dress and the experience was wonderful! The store is big and quiet and calming. There was plenty of space! My mom and I were the only customers there and she took great care of us! She was attentive and friendly and let me pull styles as well as picking some she thought I would like. She immediately put me in my favorite of the day! I recommend this store for its high quantity of dresses and large range of pricing options. I have been to many shops looking for ""the dress"" and the customer service at Andrea's can't be beat! Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Staff more

Everything I was hoping for! 1/23/2010

I read some of these reviews before I went to Andrea's and I was nervous, but I heard they have a great selections of Maggie Sottero gowns so I went ... I was pleasantly surprised. My experience was nothing less than perfect. I met with a consultant who was nice and bubbly her name was Ashley. I brought in a photo of a dress I liked and the owner (new owner Julia) - was able to pull a similar gown from their stock of discontinued gowns and I got an awesome deal on it. I also bought my veil and petti coat there. They were great! Pros: New owner more

Great Experience 1/5/2010

I was scared after reading some of the reviews but my experience was nothing short of fantastic. It might have to do with the fact that the store is apparently under new ownership. I only know this because I worked directly with the new owner, Julia. The store has a very extensive selection and I found my dress in a matter of minutes. more

Worst experience ever 9/16/2009

Here is a copy of the letter I sent to the owner of Andrea's:\r \r 7/24/09\r \r Dear Karen, \r I’m writing to let you know that my experience with Andrea’s Bridal was awful, from start to finish.\r Actually, let me back up. I did try wedding gowns on and that experience was fine. I believe the girl who helped me was Tina and she was sweet. I didn’t find anything I liked, which of course is not an issue since we all have different tastes. However, I saw so many lovely bridesmaid dresses that I decided to bring my maid-of-honor to Andrea’s, despite that I purchased my gown elsewhere. \r The girl who helped us was in outer space (I wish I could remember her name..blondish hair, blue eyes, glasses, very ditzy). She did not help us pick anything out, nor did she help us try anything on. She stood there, completely useless (which makes me wonder why a scheduled appointment was required). We did manage to find something without her help. Upon checking out, it took her 20 minutes to get the order straight and then I left with the wrong receipt. She called to tell me she realized she gave me the wrong receipt and she would put the correct one in the mail. The mailed receipt never came so I tracked you down, and you sent it to me. She seemed so inept that until I received the correct receipt I had no way of knowing whether or not she ordered the right dress!\r This was back in February. I was told the bridesmaid dress would arrive mid-June. So as of mid-June, when I didn’t hear anything, I started calling your shop to inquire about the dress. Each time I called I got the answering machine. Nobody returned my messages so I kept calling. When someone did answer I was told that you are the only person who can check on orders (that in itself seems non-productive). I left several messages for you to call me and you never did. Since you didn’t return the messages, I kept calling. About 75% of the time I couldn’t even leave a message because the phone’s mail box was full. Talk about lack of concern for your customers.\r Thankfully, I picked up the dress today (late July, not mid-June) and never need to deal with you again. Can you tell me why it arrived over a month late? I have only one month to get this dress fitted for my maid-of-honor. Do you care? I doubt it. If you cared, you would have returned my calls. Better yet, the dress would have arrived when you said it was going to. \r I’m left to wonder if this is how you treat all of your customers. Perhaps because my purchase wasn’t a big ticket item, my business isn’t important to you. I’m so glad I purchased my own gown from a shop that truly values customer service. I cannot say the same for Andrea’s. In fact, I have encouraged all of my friends and family to avoid Andrea’s. I believe it would be less of an aggravation to drive to Canada and back than to shop at Andrea’s. Your service is terrible.\r \r \r \r \r \r Pros: No pros Cons: See below..there are many more

Just Awful!!! 8/18/2009

Andrea's is just plain awful! Yes, their selection was very nice, but it is not worth all the nonsense you must go through after. I found the dress I wanted in less than an hour, ordered it, and then paid for it in full.. including the $100.00 rush fee ""just in case"". I ordered my dress 6 months in advance, but the owner convinced me I would need to have it rushed. She told me my dress would be in between June 16-19 and I should schedule my fitting for the end of the first week in July. June 19 came and went with no call from them... then the weekend and three more business days and no call. When I called to check in, I was made to feel like a liar and I made up that the owner told me this June 19 date. I wrote it on my receipt in front of her after I bought my dress!!! My dress was three and a half weeks late and there were no apologies. \r So far, I was irritated, but I could get over it. They kept pushing back an estimate date of arrival and listed out a ton of excuses. It ranged from ""the company won't give me a tracking order"" to ""i can't get ahold of the company"" to ""we can never tell someone when there dress will be in."" Can you believe that?!?\r After the third estimated day of arrival came and I was told my dress still was not in, I was so upset! I asked the girl to track my order and tell me where it was. Then the lies and mixed messages really poured in. \r She told me that my dress actually came in that morning and she needed to look it over, but she was very busy and would need to call me back. I asked her when she would call (I'd been put off enough!) and she said she would in 2 hours. I waited 3 hours and there was no call. i called her back and she then told me that my dress was not there, then it was there but another bride was looking at it, THEN it was that the girl GAVE MY DRESS AWAY TO ANOTHER BRIDE THAT MORNING!! \r I was completely irrate and told her I was leaving work immediately and wanted to speak with the owner as soon as I arrived. The owner was conveniently ""in a meeting."" The girl said she gave my dress to a bride who happened to order the same style and size as mine. I asked her if her dress was 3 and a half weeks late too?!?\r I feel awful for that other bride out there as I am sure she was having problems with her order as well! Luckily, her fiance was kind enough to drive my dress back to the store and give it to me.\r I told the girl that I wanted at least my $100.00 rush fee returned to me for my dress being so late and such a huge hassle. And turst me, I made sure the party upstairs heard about the horrible service I had from them.\r The owner finally did call me back and absolutely refused to offer the refund and offered a half-hearted apology instead. Big deal. \r Andrea's Bridal offered me the WORST experience I could have imagined. For your own peace of mind, PLEASE do not go there! The owner is a mess and clearly cannot run her business. I hope karma comes back to her.\r \r Oh, and she also convinced me to get a dress an extra size up ""just in case."" I'm 5'6"" and 135lbs and she told me I needed a size 12. My seamstress had to take in nearly 4 inches to make it actually fit me! I feel like the owner takes advantage of first time brides and is truly a lousy person! After reading other online reviews, I can't believe she is still in business!\r \r The morale of the story.... Do not trust Andrea's Bridal. Pros: loved my dress once it actually came in Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE more

I really tried to be happy... 10/15/2008

I ordered my dress from Andreas back in January. I was really impressed by how attentive, helpful, and amazing the owner was. I was over-the-moon and even went right online & wrote a good review about them-- I couldnt believe anyone having a hard time in there, they were so nice!\r I waited for my dress to come in. and waited. and waited. I still wasnt nervous, I had 100% faith in them that I would get the dress. August comes, & still no dress for my early september wedding. I go in to check on when it will come. They had my wedding date in the books as October 1st... a month off from the real date. I still wasnt upset-- I still had plenty of time. At this point, all customer service went out the door. She told me that I had told them that it was october 1st... I'm pretty sure I know my own wedding date!\r The dress comes in 2 weeks before the wedding. I schedule my final fitting with the seamstress and I think all is well-- she was very nice & fun to work with. My faith in Andreas was renewed!\r I show up for the final fitting, and the woman told me that I didnt schedule my fitting & that I needed to make an appointment. My step-mother drove an hour & 1/2 to come to this fitting, after I already made the appointment. The woman was very rude and made us feel aweful. Again, I thought that it was somehow my fault. \r I tell them that I will pick up my dress on friday for my saturday wedding. I show up to the shop at 4:03 and no one is there. They closed at 4. This, once again, was my fault because they closed at 4 & I got there 3 minutes too late. But why didnt they call??? They knew I was coming and that my wedding was the next day! \r So long story short, I finally got my dress 6 hours before my wedding, and the bustle didnt stay up for more than 30 minutes at a time. My train was covered in mud by the end of the night, on my $900 dress. I really tried to like them, but their customer service is some of the worst I've ever seen. Heed my warning: DONT SHOP ANDREAS! Pros: Great selection Cons: poor service, defunct bustles, painfully slow on receiving dress more

After you buy your dress, you're no use to them 9/15/2008

I have had a bad experience thus far. After you order your dress, it's as though you don't exist. I ordered my dress back in February for a November wedding, and still have no idea when it will be in. I was originally told June, then July, and now they won't even respond. I've only asked 3 times since I was told June, and have been very patient. I left a message a couple of weeks ago, again on Friday, with an email Saturday, and still nothing. My wedding is now just 9 weeks away, and no dress. I suggest shopping elsewhere. Pros: good selection Cons: horrible service more

BUYER BEWARE!!!! Andrea's Bridal Portland Maine 8/5/2008

I agree with the 2 posts above. I went to Andrea's to find my wedding gown after I searched high and low everywhere else. The selection was better than most bridal shops, and the staff was pretty attentive - UNTIL I purchased my gown! After that, the ""customer service"" went straight downhill. When I came for my fittings, they were more concerned with the next dollar sign that walked thought the door than me - Is it too much to ask for the complete follow through? On top of that - ordering my shoes was ridiculous - they didn't have the most popular shoe size in stock (8), when I told them to order them, I was told that the ""Owner"" would be placing the order in a few days - it would be ordered at that time. I called and called and wouldn't you know it, she was on vacation! That must be the excuse for everything... All in all it took 7 weeks to order the shoes, and then they had to be dyed to match my dress (which was the whole reason I wanted to order them early, b/c any bride can tell you sometimes they don't match!) On top of that they charged me to order the shoes when they should've had them in stock! My alterations were a joke. She actually argued with me on where the hemline should lay! WHAT?! When the alterations were complete, they were LESS than par. I doubt they would hold up 20+ years from now when my future daughter would wear the gown. This business is only good for purchasing the Gown- after that - run to their competitors for all your alterations. I spent a total of $1,800+ on my ""dream gown"" incl. the undergarments, shoes, etc... For the price - I should've been treated like gold. After all, I was the bride, and with all the stress and timelines I was under - I could've done without all the drama they put me though. Pros: Selection Cons: Terrible Customer Service( after purchase) , Poor alterations, overpriced, Lack of most popular shoe sizes, delays with ordering ANYTHING, Excuses for not keeping their word. more

Zero Customer Service 9/10/2007

If you read this, please warn your friends.\r \r I was a bridesmaid in a wedding, and we bought our dresses from Andreas. As the previous post also mentions, the selection was pretty extensive. We received our dresses just in time, and my dress, as was agreed upon by the Andrea's employees, needed no alterations. Phew!\r \r The dresses were beautiful, fit everyone perfectly, and the wedding ceremony was wonderful. However, as I sat down to dinner at the reception the zipper on my dress split! Luckily, the wedding coordinator had enough safety pins to keep my dress closed for the remainder of the wedding. The 14 pins running down the back of my dress was a bit of an eyesore, though.\r \r After the wedding, I called Andrea's to discuss whether they could fix it, or compensate me in some way, because clearly it was not a cheap dress! To spend over $200, I would have liked it to last more than an hour!\r \r I spoke with 2 employees (one telling me that I was wasting my time calling, and that nothing was their fault), and left messages for the owner to call me back. When she finally did, she was heading out on vacation, and would 'call me back'. After two weeks of hearing nothing, I called again. The owner had forgotten. Still, she offered no help whatsoever. She would send me a shipping label to send her the dress so that she could see it (since I am from Boston). Now, it has been over a MONTH since the wedding, I have seen NO shipping label, have received NO help at all. I've gotten the runaround since day one, on a problem that could have been easily fixed. It's inevitable that problems like this happen, but the treatment and customer service (or lack there of) is completely unacceptable.\r \r Great place to buy dresses, but you better hope nothing goes wrong, because you're on your own and you're out $200! (or more!) Cons: Customer Service more

Good selection, Horrible alterations 7/4/2007

On a positive note, Andrea's Bridal has a great selection of bridal and formal dresses, and a great space for trying them on. Both the bride and all 6 bridesmaids ordered dresses through Andrea's Bridal and were satisfied until it was time to get them altered, then I realized what horrible service we were receiving. First of all, they told us alterations would be no more than $50 when we ordered our dresses. When we checked out they charged us a whopping $150 each!! To make matters worst, none of the bridesmaids were satisfied with the expensive alterations! In fact, my cups were both put in wrong and they additionally didn't make the alterations tight enough and I had to go elsewhere to get it altered once again or else I would have had a ""warbrobe malfuntion"" at the wedding. Therefore, I recommend Andrea's for the selection, but HIGHLY recommend taking your dress elsewhere for the alterations, it will save you lots of time and money. Pros: Selection Cons: Service more
