As a fellow restaurant owner, here are my OPINIONS. I just went there last night, a Friday 8:30. Their dining room was overlit. They have lights for their wall pictures, but the wattage is too high, so its like you're dining in a cafeteria. There are candles, but with so much light, it was useless and not mood setting at all. We were seated appropriately and timely. Our server was pleasant in appearance, but had a strong accent which made it hard for us to understand her and she didn't understand us very well and I have no accent. The bread was warm and good. We ordered the smoked salmon toasts and it was good, but we weren't given forks, just knives so we held everything as we cut it up. I thought it might be a hand-friendly food, but the pieces were too large. It was like eating a pizza slice. I asked for two forks, but never got them. When we ordered entrees, we wanted risotto, lasagna and tagliatelle pasta. She didn't understand that we wanted 3 entrees and said I had to choose two. I'm not sure if she misunderstood me or not, but she just cost the owner an entree b/c we only ordered 2 dishes. From the way she dressed, she might have been the owner. I noticed most of the staff had aprons, but she did not. Also, when we were looking at ordering cocktails, their only vodka was Stolis. For a white linen place that serves martinis, they should have a top shelf vodka. Grey Goose, Chopin, or Belvedere would have been good.
