If you ever need a moving company to pack your household items at a fair price, then American Van Lines is for you. I paid to move my mother-inlaw from Bradenton, Fl to Michigan. I could not get to Florida to do this so i trusted American VAn Lines with everything. Not only did they deliver as promised, but my mother inlaw said that the gentleman treated her with respect. They really cared about her belongings and took the time to wrap and protect all her valuables safely and securely. Every box, every item had a serial number on it and everything was accounted for when it arrived here in Michigan. The price was within my budget and the service was OUTSTANDING !!!!!!.. I used this company when I moved from Florida to Massachusetts and was not a good experience from the very beginning.\r First, they quoted me a price for everything I had to move. They had a complete list! When the movers arrived, I was quoted an additional $1800.00! I actually had to leave stuff behind due to ""no space"" on the truck and yet these were items that were originally listed in my original quote! \r The movers showed and informed me that I needed to purchase their packing supplies for some of my bigger items at the price of $345.00! I did this and they proceeded to wrap the bigger stuff! Clearly they had no idea what they were doing and as you can see by the pictures attached and the damage that was caused to these items was extensive. So, the additional $345.00 for packing materials and an additional $1800.00 for additional space on the truck meant nothing...my ites were still damaged, it just costed me more to damage them! \r Once the movers had most of the items on the truck, they wanted me to sign the inventory list. I had asked them why the column marked ""condition at Origin"" was not filled out. They informed me that the ""condition at origin"" column on the inventory list does not get filled in so this column was left blank. I agreed to purchase their packing supplies because the big items they were wrapping were brand new. I figured $345.00 was a small price to pay in order to protect a new bedroom set, and a leather couch and leather love seat and leather ottoman! Little did I know...it was all damaged and ripped when it arrived. I noticed once my items arrived in Massachusetts the ""Condition at Origin"" column was now filled in and stated that everything I owned was either scratched, ripped, work, torn, rubbed, dented and faded...EVERYTHING on the inventory list was filled in like this! That is pretty much everything that could happen to your items when you moved so I guess American Van Lines East was covering all the bases!\r The movers left Florida with my items on their truck. 1 day later I get a call from Jim stating that there was now going to be an additional $750.00 due to the fact that the driver ""didnt think"" he could drive the 18-wheeler down my street for delivery. I told him that it would fit and stated that an 18-wheeler moved me to Florida from this address 2 years earlier. That didnt matter and I had to now pay $750.00 more for a delivery charge. I guess the road I moved back to had somehow shrunk in the 2 years I was gone! \r While the movers were unloading all my damaged items, the 18-Wheeler car carrier I hired to move my vehicle from Florida to Massachusetts pulls right in front of the house and unloads my car for me. The movers just stood there like deer caught in the headlights!\r If you use this company beware!!! Your cost WILL increase as they see fit and your items will be damaged whether you pack them or you have American Van Lines East pack them for you!\r After reading this review and seeing the pictures posted showing the damage I experienced, you cannot say that you were not warned! more

From the moment I signed the contract, this was nothing short of a hell show. This was the worst experience of my life. I signed the contract for my stuff to be picked up July 25-NO EARLIER and to be delivered no later than 8/6. Within in 10 hours of signing contract, I start receiving calls saying they need to move up my move out date to 7/18. I am 1300 miles away and trying to organize this. I specifically told them I could not do earlier because NO ONE was there. Now they were telling me that they couldn more

I've moved quite a few times in the past 16 years and by far this was the worse move I've ever had. They ripped me off and charged me twice what the estimate was. I provided an inventory of my furniture and estimated the number of boxes I had to move. 3 guys came earlier than antcipated on the day of my move and before we even got started they just about doubled the time I was given intially. Then came the extra charges for all the moving supplies I needed. I knew I had to get shrink wrap which I purchased but apparently mine wasn't good enough - neither was the tape I purchased. To make a short story long and my move even more horrible were the charges incurred for the supplies - $100 for matress covers. I told them not to cover the matresses and they said they couldn't put them on the truck without being covered. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE TO ANYONE and told the apartment complex I moved from NEVER TO RECOMMEND THESE THIEVES!!! more

DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS! These movers were on time but were sloppy and careless and did not wrap padding or blankets around anything in the truck for a cross-town, 13 mile move. Furniture was scratched and chipped, box of glassware dropped and they packed the truck so poorly that they left a lot of items at the old address that we had to move because they said they did not have room. We have moved several times in the past 2 years so we know the difference between good packing and POOR packing. I want to see how they respond to the claims for damage I am sending to them! more

IF I COULD GIVE LESS than (1) start I would! Out and out theft! Of course, my $665.00 move turned into a $1,800 move and then they left early after I had paid for more time! To top it off, once I complained and demanded a refund of the overcharge I was told I was given a ""CASH REFUND"" AND THAT THEY HAVE MY SIGNATURE on that refund! Really?Wow! I don't think so! Forgery is illegal, as I did NOT get a refund! They left me high and dry with a garage and rooms full of my stuff! Instead of finishing the job, they went to the truck and left! So now I have to pursue this in court too! More effort, cost and time on my part! Save your money! They are the worst!!!! more

I have a friend who moved from Tampa to Ohio and used this company. When the movers arrived at his home, they tacked on additional fees from the $1000 quote and it ended up being triple that. The moving truck ""broke down for 3 weeks"" and when my friend attempted 10 times to call and email, he got no response. When items arrived 3 weeks later some of them were missing and broken. The manager laughed at my friend when he asked for a reduction/partial refund for his trouble. I would never use this company. What poor management and customer service. This company should not be in business more

I hired your company to move my futniture from Tampa to Ohio. Being that this was my first experience, I regret that I did not research this more. MIke was charming from the beginning, so I agreed to allow your help. First of all I was given alot of misinformation. I was not told about the additional fees, I was told that my things would arrive on April 1st. Not April 17th. I made numerous calls to inquire about what was going on, I was given such a run a round. People would not return my phone calls. I was even told by Gil, to ""hurry up the conversation and stop wasting time"". I was floored. The driver (Juan) breaks down on the way here. NEVER returns phone calls. He even told me that he doesn't even check his messages. What kind of business are you running? Some of my things were damaged and I will be making a claim. I thank God this ordeal is behind me. I moved with American van lines east from orlando to las vegas .This was the first time i hired a professional mover.My experience with this company was wonderfull.The guys were on time,helpful,polite and carefull with our things.The delivery to vegas was on time.\r Thank you very much for making this move stress free. more

I used american van lines and will never ever use them again they are so quick and nice at the first call and getting their 10% but after that trust me its all down hill its been over two weeks and still waiting for my stuff and after numerous calls and waiting for a manager to call I have still not heard anything done use them more

Overestimated the time needed for the move, promised a refund and never provided it. Quality of handling the furniture was just acceptable. more

I called a couple of movers and liked most what they told me about my move. The price was right for what had to move. Showed up on time and wrapped up all my wooden furniture. I was very happy with the whole experience and how smooth it went.. I would definitly use them again. Thanks. Dan. more

I googled a mover and found these guys. Just wanted to say thank you so much for moving me to Orlando on Wednesday. My apartment looks great. I know the third floor was a little back breaker but you guys did an awesome job. Thanks for not breaking anything i appreciate it. American Van Lines East are liars and cheats and will steal your money. Look at the three reviews below mine. This company stoops so low and such scam artists that they come on this site, create 3 fake users to try and boost their ratings and convince people they are not thieves. People might actually fall into your trap if you weren't complete morons who create 3 good reviews on the same day that sound like a urinal stall ad. I would bet everything that charles sternn, denise hampptt and oscar geez do NOT exist. One word to the wise the next time you try and create fake users, first and last names are capitalized and second, spread them out and make the usernames look different so you don't get caught in your lies! You are a pathetic joke of a company and deserve to go bankrupt (which will happen when you stop stealing from people). These lies are only where it begins. I wanted a mover that would not hassle me with add ons and more expenses and when I spoke with the courteous and knowledgable people at American Van Lines East I knew who to choose to make my move. They were thorough and answered all of my questions and believe me if you want a skeptical person about using a mover you should meet me. However, these people know moving and when they moved me out to Arizona everything was clock work the price was very precise, their foreman explained everything and the delivery was very prompt. I recommend them and I will use them when I move again. more

I just wanted to say that I am a single mom on a tight budget and i needed a mover fast. I called American Van Lines East for an estimate to move me from Florida to Colorado. I asked for a quote with full packing included. There quote was not only accurate but their service was 5 stars. Every item and every box was serial numbered and tracked so nothing was lost. My big screen tv was protected and all glass items arrived unbroken. I moved 2 bedrooms of furntiure including alot of boxes and not only was the price reasonable, but the price did not change once they left my home. I read alot of horror stories but I just want to say that they did an excellent job and made my moving experience delightful and surprising.. also want to say that my items arrived within 5 days.. I will use them again and wanted to post a great review for their moving team, thanks again guys !!!!! best wishes\r more
