Do not use this company under any circumstances! Their sales people will tell you whatever you want to hear to get your business, but they lie. They said they did not guarentee their delivery date (which is the only true thing they told me) but said that there would not be a problem getting it there in time since there were three trucks a week to my area. They were four days late delivering the furniture. The day they were due they said they would be there between 8am and noon...ha ha. The first thing did not come off the truck until almost 6pm. The driver did not have adequate help with him so it took forever. The one helper he had was constantly on his cell phone. They upped the price and we had to run to the bank to get more cash. The paper you sign says if they have to go over 75 feet it is an additional .25 per cubic foot, but they charge that for each 75 feet which the paper work does not state. There is also an elevator fee, the sales person said they never charge that, another lie. No charge to the 2nd floor but $125 charge to the 4th floor. Make sure you read all the fine print and are aware of all the hidden charges. The packing was horrible many items were broken. There were boxes marked ""glass - fragile"" that were crushed and upside down. There was one lamp that was a table/lamp combination that was taken apart to the point that they even unwired it, it was in so many pieces that it was impossible to put back together. The leg of the head board of the bed was broken, there was a jewelry chest that the legs were literally torn off of. Make sure you take out the extra insurance if you use them! The manager is rude and not helpful. Her answer to me was they are not liable and if I didn't like it I could contact the BBB...which I will! Pros: nothing Cons: everything more

American Van Lines East has probably the worst service I have ever seen in terms of moving. I have moved quite often for the past 5 years and have never seen a company so rude, and ignorant. They gave us an original quote, loaded up our stuff and once it was on the truck they said it was going to be about 2-3 times the original quote. Since it was already loaded on the truck we were forced to pay because our stuff was being held hostage until we paid. Furthermore, They did not leave until the morning of the day it was suppose to be there. Being a good 10+ hour drive they said they would still make it on time. However we knew this was not possible. Also their supervisor's are very rude and obnoxious. They never let me finish a sentence and kept making promises they couldnt keep. This is probably one of the worst businesses I have ever seen and something needs to be done so no one gets screwed over like me. Cons: Everything, especially pricing, delivery and service more

I strongly suggest that everyone steer clear of American Van Lines East in Tampa, FL. Expect extortion: they will charge you double the quote and take twice as long to deliver as promised. When I complained, instead of trying to work with me on solving my problem, they basically had my money so they were accusatory and extremely rude -- very hard to deal with! You're better off just going with UHAL and doing it yourself. Pros: I didn't have to do any heavy lifting. Cons: Extorted money and bascially screwed me over. more
