This company provided my dad and I with a COMPLETE security experience that truly enhanced our home. At the same time they relieved our concerns about break-ins while we are away and security when we are home. They are always responsive if you have questions and in my case; they readily added additional measures as we tweaked the system. - my dad experienced a few problems and set off the system several times and they were quick to contact us to avoid a false alarm. We now have fire and burglary as well as smoke and full perimeter protection and we are very satisfied. My biggest ease is the medical alert they provide for my pops which make me feel secure when I am away. This company provides the TOTAL PACKAGE! more

This company is run by thieves. they appear to be a good upstanding business on the outside but I assure you THEY ARE THIEVES! they will sue you and tell lies to win their case, a big part of their business is taking their own customers to court. i used them for three years,I was told my contract was only two, after three years i tried to cancel but it turns out they had lied to me and it was a 5 year contract. they took me to court for the extra two years that I refused to pay, the actual alarm system I used was not supplied by them, it was owned by me and they only activated it. in court they lied and told the judge it was theirs and that I never paid for it. LIE! i asked the judge to have them produce a invoice for this system. turns out they have this judge in their pocket and he ignored my request just ruled in their favor. I had to pay close to $2000.00 for equipment that they did not supply. THEY ARE THIEVES. turns out they work with this judge all the time. he does not care if your a victim or not. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! they steal from the ones they claim to protect. pure evil! more

I have had other alarm companies in various properties over the years but this company goes above and beyond all the other alarm companies. They have excellent staff members and they always have a live operator. Would recommend them. more

I have been a customer for over 20 years and very happy with the service. I recently made changes to my phone provider which proved to be incompatible with my alarm setup. The people at American Alarm responded to with what I needed to do to upgrade my system before I was even aware of the problem. They went above and beyond to secure my home and family quickly. I'm looking forward another 20+ years with them. They are truly a company with people that care. more

Clearly these folks are focused experts when it comes to the alram/security business. The sales representative listened and did a walk through to see the security system that we already had via ADT. The price of their proposal was significantly higher than the other supplier and did not include any video surveillance which the competitor did. However I went with these guys because I believed that they are experts who will provide better service after the installation. The quality of the hardware technology is clearly state of the art and is better than the old ADT system that was over 15 years old. The service tech who came to do the installation was clearly very competent and did a very good job. There were a few questions that came up at the time of the installation that cause some concern about whether I made the right decision. The proposal assumed that all of the current hard wire contacts were operational and that there were only two new wireless contacts that would be needed. The tech discovered that we had a window where the hard wire contact wasn't working and one more wireless contact that needed to be replaced. The net was that they needed two more wireless contacts than were included in the quote and that increased the install price. I called the sales person in the morning to get clarification on this and he didn't call back. I called again early in the afternoon and spoke with an assistant who said that she would talk with my sales person and get back to me. She didn't return my call. In the meantime the tech spoke with his supervisor who authorized charging me a reduced price for the extra two wireless sensors so that the install could be completed. Also, there was a second question related to protection of the upstairs windows. I did not realize that the upstairs windows were not protected with the ADT system. I wasn't clear about whether the proposal from this company included covering all of the upstairs windows. I also wanted clarification from my sales person about where his proposal assumed that this was unnecessary and therefore not included. Ultimately I received a call back from the assistant who explained that they generally do not included upstairs windows because it doesn't improve the security and only increases costs. The tech did a good job of explaining the system and how to use the touch pad. However there was no explanation of how to use my cell phone and the remote access to manage the system. I assume that this is in the manual and that I will need to figure this out on my own. Bottom line is that I am confident that the new system is the best quality and that it has been installed in a way that it will be reliable. Hopefully I will have no problem with false alarms and hopefully if there is a real alarm trigger their monitoring service will be as good as I assumed when I made the decision to go with this company. Time will tell. more

We had some vandalism and called out American Alarm to install a system. The technician Brad was awesome! From start to finish everyone was very professional. They continue to check on us and make sure we are happy. We have had an attempted break in since and the alarm scared them away. Thank goodness we had the system in! We feel very safe and protected now. I highly recommend American Alarm Systems more

I had a break in. I called other companies but they could not meet me right away or were to expensive. I am glad i found these guys. Way better than all the other companies I interviewed. more

Here is the real story. Our old customer in this suite went bankrupt and left. Power and phones at the suite were shut off in early December. Our central station notified site of power and battery failure. Additionally, we informed sub that system is down and will not work. Security system down at that time. New tenant Rooz calls and wants the service with our company but still does not have power or phones at the site. We wait for them to get power and phones. Then a break-in occurs with a down system and American Alarm Systems gets blamed? Currently, a month later, still no power or phones. Even after this review, Rooz still wants our services. Still waiting on power and phones! more

This is not a real alarm company. Their products do not work. The business next to mine went bankrupt, I took over the alarm system to keep it active. Due to the amount of work it took the intruders to go into the next door location and based upon the entry point, the burglars spent at least twenty minutes in the adjacent building. The alarm from this company never tripped. I called to verify and was told that they had no record of the alarm going off. Stay away from this company if you actually want protection. I should have realized this when they sent me the contract, it was not prepared in a professional manner and the representative who I dealt with was lackadaisical and carefree. I explained to him the history and clarified the importance of their alarm being active and functional. The last time we where burglarized the same thing happened, their alarm did not trip at that time either. For your own protection and peace of mind, find a real alarm company. We have been using one of the larger alarm companies and they are not perfect but at least their product works and they call quickly when the alarm is triggered. more

My home was broken into. I called ADT and others and they all seemed the same. Then I called American Alarms out of Santa Ana. I liked the fact that they have been in business since 1958 and did not hard sell me. I would recommend them to others. more

I have had security systems with American Alarm for over 20 years in my business and home. Twice my company has had attempted break-ins and both times the alarm systems worked perfectly and prevented a loss. The police were able to arrest one of the burglars due to the video system. I travel for business and my wife saw a prowler in the back yard and activated the system. It scared the prowler away and the central station dispatched the police. \r I feel my family is safe, thanks to American Alarm. more
