Evolution is my hair's solution! 1/6/2005

Finding a great colorist and hair stylist is extremely hard and very scary! Evolution Salon has ended that search and fear for me. I was happy with my previous salon, just tired of having to travel to Manhattan. I AM HAPPIER with my experience and results at Evolution than my old salon! Amanda gave me BEAUTIFUL highlights and Kara gave me an amazing cut. They both spoke with me about what I wanted before working their magic. I felt very comfortable as soon as I walked in. The salon it'self was beautifully decorated and the staff were warm and friendly. I'm so happy to have found SUCH A GEM so close home. Amanda and Kara are not only wonderful people, they are VERY GOOD at what they do! Evolution's salon and staff are now in my Top 5 list of important places and people!!! Amanda and Kara, THANK YOU!! love evolution! 1/5/2005

After being clobbered with prices in Manhattan, I decided to think locally. I booked my first appointment at Evolution, nervous leaving the comfort zone of my city stylist but hoping for the best. Teresa went above and beyond my expectations as a stylist, she truly is a visionary. She understands the needs of her client with or without visual aids of what the cut and color are to look like. The color she steered me to was the best and the cut was exactly as I envisioned it. I would recommend anyone to this salon. Pleasant Experience 11/10/2004

I was really impressed with this place! I had been paying outrageous prices in Manhattan and decided to try something local and moderately priced. I didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised! Kara gave me a great cut and was a wonderful conversationist. Needless to say, I had a great experience for a fraction of the cost that I had been paying at other hair salons. more

Great Experience 10/1/2004

I have been searching for a Beauty Salon which has it all. On my recent visit to Evolutions, Bernice gave me a complete make over. My color, hair style and make up. I was so excited with the results, I had to share my experience. I am very critical about everything and Bernice aims to please. I loved my hair and my make up came out great. The atmosphere, attitude, skill and style of Evolution and its wonderful staff cannot be duplicated! I have been to several dozen stylists over the years, and I can say without a doubt that I will look no further from now on. I tried Evolution after being disappointed time and again at Christie's. The staff at Evolution is wonderfully welcoming while maintaining a sophisticated style. I received nothing but the best -- from start to finish -- and am thrilled with the results. I was in as a new client to Evolution a few weeks ago and had an appointment with Kara. I have been to many salons and this was the first salon I went to that I felt comfortable and unpressured to do or buy anything I didn't want. We had a consultation where Kara helped me find a color and style that worked for me, and recommended (not pushed) some great products that would benefit me. I have great highlights that look wonderful with my cut. These girls are great and friendly and I'm glad I found a new stylist! Pros: Kara!, Generous staff!, great atmosphere! more

Good sense of style 6/6/2004

I'm a guy, and probably one of the very few to write a review here. The stylists there, especially Teresa, have talent. The consultation was productive and professional, and her advice/feedback was on point. She instinctively knew what style would look good on me, and nicely executed the cut. My appointment had started a little bit late. She had to make sure that the previous customer was satisfied before taking me on, which I think was very professional. These genuine down to earth light hearted professionals, use what their clients have to give their clients what they want. Lets face it, good skilled hair dressers have become almost obsulite. MOST do what they want and could care less about their clients wants, needs, and considerations. NOT HERE! Style, color, cut, highlights wash, treatments, coffee, anything you want your needs are met individually. To the utmost. What a day at a salon IS about. Immaculate. Great decoration. Affordable. Great new look, great new me 5/10/2004

It was my first visit to the salon, and I had an appt. for color. I have been EVERYWHERE, but never quite finding the ""right"" salon or stylist for me. Until I walked into Evolution, my color is wonderful, everything I asked for, and my cut...wow its a new me. I love the service and the quality of work is outstanding. I love my new salon. Great Salon in Bayside 1/1/2004

Evolution Salon is a much needed addition to the salons in Bayside. I went to Evolution for a haricut and found the salon to be great in every way - the decor was lovely, the prices were a bargain for the services and most importantly the girls who work there are all very friendly and seem to be enjoying their work. On top of all that, they did a great job on my hair. I highly recommend Evolution Salon more

city style w/o city prices! 10/31/2003

i love color and i've looked for years now for a great colorist that i can afford. i've been to what should be the best from Maximus in LI to three or four different salon's in NYC. I finally found a salon that not only gives good color, but the price is unbelievable. i couldn't believe that it's located in Queens. Which is even better because unlike the city parking is great and close (for those cold winter days). I'm so happy i finally found a salon i love. that although i want to sreem it out to everyone, i kind of would like it to remain my little secret so that i can always get an appointment. But if i must share then it's evolution salon in Bayside, queens. that's all i will say you look for it on your own it's worth it! Pros: Parking, very personable, inexpensive Cons: very busy more

Great color 9/15/2003

I went in for a cut about 3 weeks ago and I loved it, so I went back for my color. Now I used to go to nubest, and I was happy with them at first, but then after a while I felt like I was paying for a name. So I gave Evolution a try. Well I was very happy with the color. They fixed the job the other salon did, and they also gave me lowlights?. I think thats what she called it, but anyway what ever its called it looks so good. I am very happy with my new salon. more

A great new me 9/12/2003

Was my first time at Evolution. Very nice people, and great looking place. My stylist was very one on one. Took the time to agree on a style. Suggestead a few new ideas (color,color,color) which I am going to do...soon. Very good feeling when you walk into Evolution. I will definetly be going back, and yes, I love the little table and umbrella with the chairs outside, you just want to seat and have a drink under it. See you soon girls. more
