Terrible Owner, Nice Staff 10/17/2006

It is amazing that a person who owns a ""service industry"" business can be so incredibly rude to clients and her staff! I have never in my life been in a salon where the owner verbally abused the staff and talked like a truck driver and was proud of it!!! She has terrible manners and to think...she expects a tip! Here's a tip Theresa, if you don't want to take your clients seriously and act like an adult instead of a spoiled child..then don't own a business! She could have cared less whether I was satisfied with my hair, she just wanted my money and wanted me out of her chair!! By the way, I'm surprised that you have a staff at all! Grow up! TERRIBLE EXPECTATIONS... 10/12/2006

THIS SALON CLAIMS TO RESTORE MIND,BODY,SPIRIT...? SUCH FALSE ADVERTISEMENT.THEY SHOULD MENTION THAT IN THE PROCESS THEY RUIN YOUR HAIR.MY HAIR STARTED TO SPLIT AND FALL OUT, AND THE COLOR TURNED OUT THE OPPOSITE COLOR OF WHAT WAS SHOWN.. Great Cut and Gloss Treatment 7/11/2006

I got my haircut with Kara and she was lovely. Very polite, listened to what I wanted and delivered. Teresa did my gloss treatment and she was very friendly and suggested the perfect color. I'm very happy with it. I recommend this highly if you want talented haircutting and color but would like to save the trip to the city. Great location. more

I was very disappointed with Evolution. I sincerly think that all of these positive reviews must be written by Evolution and their friends. My hair style was completely overcharged and I was not happy with it. I would never go back!!!!! Pros: Noting Cons: Complete RIP OFF!!!!!!! more

I love this salon! 6/30/2006

This place is great! The staff is hysterically funny, you feel like your watching a sitcom, while enjoying the great benefits of the salon environment forget ""BLOWOUT"" someone need to create a show in this place..I was skeptical at first choosing a salon over the internet, but I had read all the wonderful reviews, especially on Kara (who did my hair by the way), and I decided to go for it. I have never been more pleased with my hair. I am a loyal client, so they can expect to see me for as long as they keep their doors open! more

Sassy little find 6/28/2006

What a great salon! I had my app. a few weeks ago with teresa. I had a new color done and a haircut. I can't even tell you all the great compliments i'm getting on my new do. Teresa did such a great job. I love the one on one service you get at this place. Everyone there is really sweet too. Relaxing, friendly atmosphere 6/15/2006

I recently had my hair highlighted by Kara. Never have I received so many compliments on the color and condition of my hair. My past experiences with highlights have resulted in hair that felt and looked like straw. Not this time! My highlights look natural and glisten in the sunlight. I love, love Kara's technique, and thanks to Citysearch, have FINALLY found a colorist and salon I will stay with!!! Pros: Ample street parking Cons: NONE!!! more

I had to add my 2 cents... I love going to Evolution Salon!! I think not only my stylist, but the other stylists there are top notch, talented ladies. The way I feel when I leave the salon boosts my confidence, makes me feel fabulous and beautiful. I have a great cut and great color and my hair is in the best condition it has been in years. I don't understand why this salon gets raves unless it has something to do with the discount they offer if you leave a positive review here. (I guess that leaves me out!)\r In all fairness to the stylist who did not only my but my daughters hair, people have bad days, even stylists, so I won't mention her name. I will say this. Iv'e done a better job of highlighting myself at home, and even though my daughters haircut was good, mine was not.\r The bottom line is, I would expect this at a lesser priced salon. But the prices here are top shelf, and after reading all the reviews here i was so confident that we couldn't go wrong. I never in my life paid more for a haircut, and was so disappointed.\r \r Being fair again, I have to admit, that I never went back with my concerns which I know i should have. Amazing Salon in Bayside! 6/7/2006

I am the pickiest person ever with my highlights. Teresa did an incredible job and really listened to what I wanted. She is a true artist! She also gave me a great haircut as well! Since I moved to Bayside, I tried all the salons...Evolution is BY FAR THE BEST!! more

Gotta see Joanne! 5/25/2006

I have been a client of this salon for many years and the service is great and very reasonable. I only deal with Joanne Russo. She has been cutting and coloring my hair for 25 years. She is the only one that I allow near my head with scissors because she works wonders with them. You must give her a try. The location is easily accessible and there is ample parking. My Best Cut Yet 5/22/2006

I had Kara cut almost 12 inches off of my hair and she did an amazing job! I love my new cut and style and couldn't be happier. I recommend Kara to anyone in search of a professional, modern stylist. I've heard the other women in the salon are amazing as well! I definitely trust these girls with my hair. more

Great place where they really listen!! 4/9/2006

I am always on the search for a great hairstylist due to the fact that when I tell them a trim, they cut 3-4 inches off my hair!! No one really listened to me, and the last time I went to Maximus, they cut my hair crooked and died my hair black instead of medium brown. Then I tried Evolution where Marissa actually listened to me and sat me down for a good 5-10 minute talk. She made me feel at ease and showed me every step while cutting my hair. I also went in January for a hairstyle of romantic waves with Kara. I definitely recommend this place to everyone in search of a great and skillful hair salon. more
