Best

Dr. JS is one of the most caring MD's i know. He caught something about the cause of my condition that no other MD ever considered, and it returned my life back to normal (100%)....

Worst

First of all...me giving this place one star is giving them too much credit! I started going here after a search through my insurance provider, the website seemed pretty believabl...

Editorial review from Citysearch 10/30/2012

THIS PLACE NEEDS HELP and SHOULDNT BE TRYING TO HELP OTHERS. ONE BAD EXPERIENCE AFTER ANOTHER. Dr. Castillo is the only person there that should still have a job. more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! 10/26/2011

First of all...me giving this place one star is giving them too much credit! I started going here after a search through my insurance provider, the website seemed pretty believable. I was seeing Dr Merrit and she was ok I guess, she really didn't talk to me just asked some questions and always looked at her laptop, but whatever she prescribed me some meds. She diagnosed me and sent me on my way. After the 3rd visit she told me she was leaving and I needed to find another dr to take care of me, so I did. I ended up with some guy dr and he seemed like an idiot. He told me that I was misdiagnosed and that I needed to try all these new medications, etc etc. I was sent home with medication to ""try out"" which ended up making me act out of control. more

Really ridiculous front desk, nice interior 10/21/2011

So, I heard about this office through this website and thought I would try it out. I read the bad reviews and went through the odd voice portal to schedule an appointment. I already could tell that with the way you have to schedule the appointment that they had tons of patients. But I booked a session a couple weeks in advance anyway. The morning of the appointment I called ahead to say I would be late. I got directions from a receptionist who was not specific at all. I finally got there, but they would not see me. I also knew about their $100 late policy. My fault. Whatever I rescheduled. Today was my second appointment. They have been blowing up my phone to get insurance information and just annoying the hell out of me at work. They also left messages that I listened to and blew off because they seemed unimportant. But I did make an effort to make it on time... My appointment was cancelled. Apparently Dr. Baez allows his receptionists to schedule appointments on Friday at 4:00pm that he chooses to bail out on. I felt that I should receive my $100 back. The receptionist said that the voicemail she left on my phone was enough to let me know of the cancellation, even though I was not at all notified of it nor was the word cancel stated in it. DO NOT GO HERE. I won't ever again. more

NIGHTMARE!!!!!!! 4/25/2011

I have seen Nancy Daniels for 5 years. Last week I received a ""dear john"" letter in the mail giving NO EXPLAINATION as to why she would no longer see me. I was molested for 8 years as a child, and at the age of 26 took my abuser to court. I went to her office to seek mental help and medication. She saw me extensively and checked meds listened to my story, offered advice, etc... Upon my last visit as I was explaining some things that had gone on since I saw her last and was interupted and informed that my ""story is too complicated and she only wished to check my medication going forward."" I was upset (not visibly) and left her office with a realization that I should seek better treatment. Back to the ""termination"" letter I received... I called the office to get a reason and was told that everyone in the office to include the office manager were not to talk to me. I cant get a reason, and my primary care doc can't refill my vyvanse. She has been very unprofessional over the course of the last year. My condition has actually improved and my visits have been less frequent. I would consider going to Brady Green downtown before I ever go to alamo mental health. The staff treat almost all patients as if they are lucky to be getting treated at this place. I often felt as if they considered me to be stupid because I have a mental condition which by the way they cant pin down exactly what I have. .......................... ahhhhhhhhhhhhh so frustrating to be comfortable with a caregiver only to have them drop you for NO REASON!!!!! I wish this money grubbing greedy place to be shut down before it causes someone real damage! more

!!!! WORST PLACE TO WORK !!!!! 4/2/2011

Do NOT waste your time here!!!! This is San Antonio's TOP WORST places to work in. Managment is horrible and you will be assigned a million duties and will be thrown all over where they need you. They are not friendly and all they do is talk behind everyones back, then they try to be all nice to you. I do not recommend this place to ANYONE. more

Horrible 3/9/2011

I was put on a month long waiting list, but assured that my insurance was okay and I was ready to be seen. So, I waited because I wanted to go to a place that had specialists. When I showed up, they told me they had tried to call me (even though I show no records of a call on my phone bill) and that Dr. Brioles had decided to turn me down because I didn't answer my phone and he was ""picky about stuff like that."" When I said that I didn't understand why he would turn me down for not answering my phone, they said it was because I cancelled. Bottom line, they seem very confused and were very unprofessional. I still don't know if the doctor turned me down or there was some sort of clerical error, but I don't recommend going here unless you want a giant headache. more

NO WAY! 11/9/2010

Dr. Walter Root practiced on me and his recommendation sent me to the ER. I find out from another doctor, who was on call, that he wasn't licensed by the state health board, yet he perscribed and diagnosed me and many individuals. This not only worsened my anxiety and stress, but sent me to the ER where I dealt with even more medical bills and judgemental discrimmination based on the nature of the diagnosis. No License!? The medication he perscribed exceeded the amount of medication my body could handle. One particular medication made me feel as though i was heavily sedated and out of my own body. I called and reported this, but Dr. Root said ""stay with it"". Although this may sound pleasing, to hear from an on call doctor about his license? Then when i confront Dr. Root, he laughed and said the on call doctor had murdered two people the week before due to medication! I know it's a big city, but that would have been on the news! I'm not that ""mental"". more

excellent care! 7/8/2010

Dr. JS is one of the most caring MD's i know. He caught something about the cause of my condition that no other MD ever considered, and it returned my life back to normal (100%). There are very few MD's that will go the extra mile. All are entitled to their opinion, but the truth is that you are truly blessed if Dr. JS is your Doctor. Pros: there are many, mostly they are compassionate and up to date more

terrible patient service from doctor 10/26/2008

Dr. Olkowski was terrible the way my son and I were treated, he looked at us as if he didn't even want to speak to us, my son was asking for help mentally . Well we had set up an appt and to find out this doctor didn't see substance abuse patients, what does that tell you about there office people. No communication . Then he didn't even bother to refer us to anyone all he said was well there must be a doctor that can help you around this building. Off he went showing us the door., To find out he moved out of town this month. Believe me, these doctors just look for a paycheck, do not care to take care of patients. OH! and he even saw the sales rep before he took us in. Ha! more

Poor Dr. help 2/7/2008

I have a 13 year old son that has bipolar disorder and sees Dr. J.M. at this location. I have tried in vain for the last three weeks to get Dr. J.M. to return my phone calls and discuss my sons bipolar diorder and he refuses to do so. i got a return phone call from someone in the office telling me that Dr. J.M. would return my calls and to this date he still has not done so. I am divorced from my sons mother and Dr. J.M. still refuses to discuss with me the status of my sons medications and treatment. Even though he has a copy of the divorce . child custody decree stating that I am to be given any information, he still refuses to do so. i would not recommend this group or especially this doctor to anyone. he has my son taking medications that create hallucinations, tremors and other side effects and the medications are not to be prescribed to anyone under 18. Go figure. Pros: Haven't seen one yet Cons: Very poor work more

Poor Communication skills 11/16/2007

Either their office is terribly disorganized, or DR J. S. there is terribly disorganized. I called repeatedly, leaving messages asking for a callback to change my appointments there, and NEVER received any kind of return call from my (former) md -not even when he was booked for an appointment with me, and I called during the time of the appointment! Pros: beautiful park like grounds Cons: utter failure of md to return calls, ar even take calls and respond to messages, same for office staff more
