Action Air of Florida

We are in Orlando, FL and over a year ago we started having problem with our A/C system. Within a year we had brought in two different A/C companies technicians and had no happy results. Now, a few days ago after my husband called many A/C companies for quotes and information, we choose the Orlando/Orange County Action Air of Florida. We were looking for a reasonable, reputable, dependable and trustworthy A/C company. Since the first time we called the office at 407-521-0400, we received an excellent customer service from the office staff. Then, when Mr. John Nowakowski called us to get more information about our unit?s problem and for pricing, we were very impressed with his extreme professionalism, courtesy, listening skills, polite attitude and expertise. We were very comfortable explaining to him the A/C issue we had and he patiently and clearly explained what it was wrong with it in full detail. He also informed us about their financial options which it was a relief for us. Mr. Nowakowski, the office staff as well as the crew are extremely committed to provide an outstanding and excellent superior affordable service. Their honesty, fairness, and trustworthiness are well beyond superior. \r \r The two gentlemen (Bob and Xavier) assigned to repair our system came in 15 minutes early and the work was completed sooner than we expected and the results exceeded our expectations. Before they started the job, they checked the system and informed us in detail the problem. They also covered our wood floor as well as the working area, very consider it of them. They carefully removed and dismantled the old air handler and replace it with a new one making sure there was not damage to the frame of the door where the unit is in the floor and walls of the hallway. The job was done with and extreme carefulness and neatness. These guys were very informative, professional, friendly and courteous. We received a fast, friendly, and professional top-quality service from a reliable, first class, sound company. We are extremely happy with my experience and the results of a job very well done. We highly recommend to anyone who might need or is in need of an A/C service to check Orlando?s Orange county Action Air of Florida first. Worst company ever. Unethical and will calmly lie right to your face. Tried to not provide a permit (required by law in Florida) so there would be no inspection of their substandard work. They put in a new heat and air unit and the heater was defective so they just left it unconnected in the unit. They collected their money and never said a word. They would not return calls and we had the charges reversed on them and put in dispute. You can do that when you pay with a credit card!! Never give cash or check because you will never have control from that point. They will just take your money and you will never hear from them again!\r When the bank notified them we withheld the funds boy they couldn't call fast enough! Inspection tomorrow and still crap to deal with. They would have been better off to just do it right to begin. Go figure. RUN DONT WALK!! more

I was worried when I read the review below but called the owner who informed me that the customer below had work performed on the air handler three months prior to loosing a compressor on a 12 year old unit. The service was to clear the drain which means a compressor needs to be working to produce condensate and leak. I summized that the landlord, which wrote the review, did not give all the details in the review. I was right, this company took care of my AC problem and offers discounts. We were without heat for the first week in December. I called the company that installed and regularly serviced our unit. When they finally got out to trouble shoot the system, we paid almost $300 and were told someone would call with the cost and scheduling. I called FIVE companies that day and found Action Air of Florida--Thank Goodness! Not only had we paid almost $200 more than Action Air would have charged for that diagnosis--the problem had not been properly identified. more

We had a thermostat go out on our a/c unit. The thermostat was still under waranty so we called the service company that installed the unit. Not only could they not come out for a week but they were twice the price of Action Air of Florida. We called Action Air several times on the phone trying to trouble shoot the problem. The owner was very helpful and tried to walk us thru unlocking the thermostat. They came out and in less than 30 minutes changed out the thermostat. Not only was their price very fare but they also offered a coupon on line. If we need a/c work we would definitely use them again. Pros: Very helpful on the phone more

Its not the continuous challenges that the A/C is having that is the true problem. It is truly the TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE that Action Air has that is the reason you should NEVER use this company. I understand that with new homes and with new systems there will be kinks. However today's service call has left me speechless! This is service call #4! After waiting 3 days for Action Air to come out for the first call it turned out that they wired the compressor wrong when they installed it during construction. The 2nd call was because they master wasn't cooling. This time it was announced that the fancy thermostat (THAT THEY RECOMMEND) was not able to talk to the condenser. The 3rd and 4th call was for the system not cooling AND NOT following the assigned program. That brings us to the problem at hand. The man who came to "fix" the problems walked in with an attitude! He was instantly COMBATIVE and DISRESPECTFUL! He was completely unhelpful and was more concerned with telling us how long he had been doing this and this why we were wrong and he was right. WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THIS? Now normally I would never put this kind of negative emotion and energy out into the world. I would take this up with the manager or owner of the company and handle the attitude and LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE of his employees internally. When speaking with the owner of the company his attitude was just as bad! He disregarded his clients feelings, blaming us for his employees attitude. The man that is here "fixing" the problems is now even more angry with us and giving us...the clients...dirty looks and making us feel uncomfortable in our own surroundings! He has spent more time outside sitting on the steps on his phone speaking very loudly about his disdain for the job assignment! If you are looking for a company who has your best interest in mind and will be a complete package for your A/C needs this is NOT the company for you! From the owner to his lackies in the field there is a complete DISINTEREST IN CORRECTING THE PROBLEMS of the system...only to prove that they are of course right. Clearly this is a common theme with all of their previous clients since I agree with Capt...if I could give them NO STARS I would! In this economy all businesses have is their customer service to stand above the rest. Action Air is sub par on all counts! Save your money and look elsewhere!!!! I just moved into a new house that used an a/c system with those damper zones. From day one the master bedroom a/c was not working at all. I was forced to sleep in a guest room for a cool evening. It took them 3 days to get over and fix the problem. It turned out that they wired the compresser wrong when they installed it during construction. The second call was due to no cooling in the master bedroom again. This time they told me that the fancy thermastat (that they recommended I get) was not able to talk to the condenser. Again I was told that the problem would be fixed. The third and fourth time I called was again due to the systems not cooling. The machine was not following the program I put in it (per the instructions that they gave me to program the system), it would cool when it wasn't supposed to and then not cool when it was. In addition, it was cooling well below cooling points that I had never programed it to cool to when I programed it. This morning when they came out, the service tech gave me attitude and told me that the cooling demands that I was placing on the system was an unreasonable expectation (67 degrees at night) and that no residential system could do that without freezing up. Even though I have always run the air that way in my last 4 houses and never had any problems. I specifically told the owner John Nowakowski what my cooling needs were (including my nighttime A/C demands) during pre-construction and was promised that this was the system for me. Boy, was I taken for a fool. I will now go back to 4 Seasons A/C were I had no trouble with my air in my old house for the past 7 years, even though it means vioding my warranty with Action Air. I would rather pay for a company that is respectful and gets the job done, then continue get half assed service from a crappy company for free! Aviod this company at all cost! When I called Action Air I was promised same day service. Yes, it might be in the afternoon but they were committed to showing up regardless of how late it became. They called me again at 5pm to promise again that it might be late but they would be there. As soon as it grew dark the technician called with excuses saying he would have to come the next morning.
